I met the band after they did a gig in Liverpool in 1981; they were so nice and down to earth:) me and my friend were 15 and massive fans of them, so meeting them was a dream come true. We were so nervous we were shaking, but they were so lovely and totally put us at ease:) Its strange when I think that Su and Jo were only a couple of years older than we were at the time!!
They said in an interview that right after Human League started hitting, they tried to go to a concert like they had done before and got mobbed. Must have been an interesting experience for them given that they were just regular school girls right before they got recruited into the band.
They always came across as rather shy and nervous in interviews, but fair play to Sheffield's best band, they're decent people and have none of this Madonna style egomania.
@freacls aww lovely story i love the league not only are they beautiful and talented but they also have big hearts and everything. i hear philip was very nice too all very nice people :) i totally respect them
@freacls aww that would be *amazing* if you met Philip too but Joanne and Susan seem very very sweet for doing that and to know they are down to earth it makes me adore the band all the more. i dont think any popstar today would take time to do that :( its a pity. i would definatly help out but wow - a tissue? that's a great story it must be fun to tell. thanks.
