Tmac is HOF get over it. He was the Mac Daddy bruh. Tmac stats were HOF worthy and his career ended early. He happened to be on team with Yao Ming (Injury ended career early) Grant Hill (one of the saddest injury stories and greatest in the nba) and tjen Tmac injuries ended career early. Tmac was no joke and amazing to watch this dude was doin the self pass off the backboard dunk in games like fuck it. And never forget that spurs game.
Injuries are part of the game willing or not, there's no excuse. Other injury prone players like Walton and Sampson got inducted because they had illustrious college careers. Tracy did nothing for the game of bball, never won a ring, never past the first round as a starter, he skipped college and he didn't even played a single olympics.

Also the saying the truth hurts...possible to be applied here lol Carmelo has a better resume then McGrady does so I would put Carmelo in the Hall before McGrady. Wait...didn't you just say he had better stats in the playoffs then Kobe and for me to look it up? Then you say it isnt about playoffs? lol -- Congrats to Tracy McGrady...he didnt deserve it in many peoples eyes but his class says enough about how the Hall is a joke
T Mac talking that real shit! We put to much stock in a player for being apart of a Championship. JR Smith, Andre Iguodala, Steve Kerr for examples; are "Champions". But yet not half the players as a Charles Barkley, John Stockton, Karl Malone! Real shit though.
rnk737737 Barkley, Stockton, Malone never got a chance to pass the ball off to a lower caliber player, Jordan passed that rock to Kerr and he hit that jump shot to seal the game for the bulls 5th championship.
yng Dawg Yes he did, Kerr is a legend now, as a COACH. And yes iggy did win finals MVP, but he still can't hold Stockton, Barkley, Malone, T. Mac's jock strap.
Tbh Tracy shouldn't have even responded lol. Prime Tmac was on another galaxy compared to a prime JR. Hell, bad back Tmac was better than JR...Like JR, stay in yo lane bruh.
One of my favorite basketball legends of all time with or without a ring, ai dont have a ring but he was one of the best to do it too. Wtf is wrong with jr? He will never ve mentioned with a tmac...ever.
McGrady's career >>> JR Smith's career in every way. It's pathetic how JR smith thinks he's a star. So laughable. Lebron and the Cavs could have won the 2016 NBA FInals with Rodney Hood or Avery Bradley as their starting shooting guard. Not hating. Just the truth.
Luke Walton, Adam Morrison, and darko militic all have rings. See how much value a ring has on your career? I bet you wouldn't put them up for HOF consideration
Fact is that Iverson, T Mac,, Barkley, Stockton, Malone, Reggie, and Ewing are all probably top 30 players that the earth has ever seen and thats why it makes me mad when people bring up rings in the debates about whose the best
Big ups to T-Mac. I gained a lot of respect for him for what he said at the end about knowing there are different levels to the hall of fame. If JR had the same lucid mindset, he'd state that there are different levels of championship players. That's basically what T-Mac was saying.
I'm so glad that a player, specifically a player in T Macs EXACT situation, who's situation KD was trying to avoid by going to GS, mentioned KDs situation. This needs to be archived.
TMAC actually has a curvature of the spine and almost no arches on his feet. Thats what led to his injuries and doctors even told him it would happen. He STILL went out there on the court and put entire defenses in bodybags. I have great respect for him and he deserves to be in the HOF.
How could JR not understand Tracy's comments? I'm from Chicago and the 90's Bulls were loaded with role players who helped Jordan and Pippen to 6 championships in a 8 year span. Rodman was the only HOF player in his prime along with MJ and Scottie. That's 3 HOF players...but like 25+ other guys who got rings too. Parrish was over the hill when we had him so I didn't count him...but he'd make 4.
I saw T-Mac play so many times here in Orlando and by the end of each game he dropped 30 like it was nothing, effortless. Congrats T-Mac it wasn't your fault the Magic organization was and still is garbage. The super teams in my opinion are legitimizing even more the careers of hall of famers who didn't win a championship.
Kegan Hall Anybody can win a championship... but not every hall of famer can win a ring... theres levels to this shit tracy, you are getting measured differently then them role players...
Tmac keeping it real. The fact of the matter is the endorsement money then ruined competition in the league. The NBA check is no longer the bread winner, so the talent is no longer evenly distributed throughout the league with caps. You can now take 30 million dollar pay cuts because Nike is compensating for it.
I wonder when Vince Carter comes up is he going to get voted in? I don't know his #s but as far as cultural impact he an A.I. We're at the top of there generation.
I fuck with jr Smith but he was and will never be on level of a prime tmac... He jus took his comment out of content he jus tryna let the masses know a role player wit a championship shouldn't be elevated over a start player tht never won a championship which is facts
My favorite player of all time. And I'm not eem a sports fan. I always respected T-macs game and who he is.... Much love my brother. You Definitely deserve to be where you are.... Legendary...
skalawitz you had us until... Shirtless. Put the man's shirt back on. Maybe he's cold. Or needed a place to dry his tears. Or simply to keep you from being so suspect. We were with you. You know you f***** up right?
TMac was a 6'9 KD with Kobes intensity...Ill never forget watching him comeback down 13 pts with 30 secs to go...against Tim Duncan and the Spurs! And hes way more humble than id ever imagined hed be
Nope, Kobe was better than Tracy at every level. Even in the lone season that Tracy was scorning champ, he only scored 2 pts more than Kobe (sharing the load with Shaq) with worse percentages and overall production (less rebounds, assists, steals, etc). Tracy never played 82 games in his life, scored more than 25 ppg only 4 times compared to Kobe who did that 10 times. To compare the 2 is even offensive.
Rafael Teles TMac won the scoring title two seasons... he was better than Kobe offensively when he was in the best shape of his life. Kobe was more tenacious on defense, but their defensive skill was about the same, aside from Kobe maybe having quicker hands and TMac being able to time the block better. TMac was a MUCH better facilitator. Kobe had a MUCH better team, and had MUCH less pressure to play with. Not to take anything away from Kobe, the dude is one of the greatest of all time, but I'm taking Prime No Injury TMac over Prime Kobe any day.
If you compare McGrady and Kobe, obviously Kobe wins. However, when you talk McGrady, it's like talking Bill Walton: you talk about one or two truly great seasons, and mostly what would've happened if they never were slowed by injuries. To be fair, McGrady's best season he posted a 30.3 PER and 16 Win Shares. Kobe never did that, so it's not unreasonable to wonder if McGrady's best season was better than Kobe's best season. Clearly, Kobe was the better player, but he was kind of more fortunate to have better teammates, and not have the chronic back and knee issues.
T-Mac is one of my favorite players, sometimes even my favorite. If only he had the right players around him he would've gotten a ring. But irregardless of whether he has a ring or not, there's no denying that he deserves to be in the hall of fame.
Keino Cowan This guy said JR is great player haha wow . Oh and Smush was below average straight trash I've been a Lakers fan since the 90s so don't try to argue about my team . Just saying
1:01 "He's mistaking anybody for being everybody" - This is the only line I had to hear to know T-Mac 100% right in this case. Honestly haven't listened to the rest but this statement is the perfect one to extract what he was getting at with his comment.
T-Mac gotta be slow or something Cause he is one of the greats. Ring or no ring you still can be great, now is he better then a player that was in his same position and got a ring? now you got a arugment
I respect t mac one of the greatest scorers who ever played but he cant discredit jr smith or kd they put their parts in the finals and if anybody can win a ring why didn't he ? Remember T Mac joined the spurs and went to the finals who was 1st seed in the west but didn't execute. In all honesty he is a bit salty its like wen they mention rings around charles barkley he gets uncomfortable.
Apocalyptic not necessarily. JR is a better more fluid pairing for Lebron. JR is a much better off the ball, catch and release shooter and also has a quicker release.
Certified Finest JR isn't better than TMac in any aspect of the game other than celebrations. If TMac had to be an off the ball weapon of mass destruction, no team would ever be able to double anybody on his team. JR isn't dangerous unless he hits a streak. TMac didn't need to get hot because his shot was never off. JR needs to chill because he shouldn't even breathe the same air as TMac.
dntrip707 anyone can win a ring lolol Adam Morrison had rings So what's your point ? They would have won with Marcus smart or JJ reddick Shit the fuck up He got traded to the number one seed team with 3 all stars lmao
Lit Pusher Imo JR meshes much better for Lebron as a catch and shoot weapon. His shot is more fluid with a quicker release. Tmac has a 2 step shot making him inconsistent as a catch and shoot player. Hence a career 30% from the 3 point line
Lit Pusher however in terms of the complete package, no doubt Tmac has more to offer. However talking in terms of compatibility, Tmac is more as an iso type player rather than a lethal 3 point asset for Lebron's passes
Very understood Tracey McGrady, anyone can win a championship, but not everyone can be in the HALL OF FAME. That was well said, and shouldn't be a strike against anyone who understands the game. It's all about a difference of skill level, and individual accomplishments that gets you to the hall of fame. The sooner one comes to that understanding they too might be able to accomplish getting in the HALL OF FAME if that’s what they are looking to accomplish. Hall of Fame players have a different dynamic to their basketball skill set than others, which actually makes them entertaining to watch. Congratulation on your acceptance to the Hall of Fame!
The funny thing is T-Mac said the hall of fame remark cuz Robert Horry started it by saying T-Mac doesn't have a ring, so he just basically defended himself (and he is right), and now his statement is getting blown outta proportion. Smith obviously took that personally
T-Mac made a easy point to understand. J.R was just a little insecure because he feels like he is one of those guys who dude was referring to, just riding a team into the finals. But T Mac wasn't even talking about him specifically.
It's cool that Tracy explained himself because, initially, I had a problem with his original statement, too. What he said could have easily been taken the wrong way. No harm, no foul! =)
The thing is that championships are a TEAM honor but hall of fame is an INDIVIDUAL honor. Like he said anyone can win a championship but not just anyone is going to be inducted in to the hall of fame.
Tracy is absolutely right, anybody can end up on the end of a championship bench as the 7th thru 15th man, play sparingly and win a championship. There are 10 or 15 players on both teams combined, in the finals, that play minor roles on their team or never see the floor at all. Players cant get into the Hall of Fame in a group, your individual achievements gets you in the Hall of Fame. Its much more difficult to cross the threshold of the Hall of Fame than to win a team championship...thats a fact !
Tac in his prime was like the black mamba a beast, unfortunately his career was plagued with injuries. One of my favorites with Jordan and Penny Hardaway.
Anytime I see something about Tracy Mcgrady and his playing days (Or Vince Carter's for that matter), makes me wish that these two stuck together in Toronto and gave it more time to work out. Not sure it would have blossom into both of them becoming stars like they did individually, but it would have been interesting to watch!
"They're not gonna be wearing this orange jacket." You can tell Tracy really felt a gap by not having formal recognition as an MVP or champion in the NBA. So he's super proud of having the jacket to wear.
I agree with Tmac. 1) Hall of fame+Championships = All time Greats 2) Hall of famers who carried teams for many years but came short of championships 3) Role players who happen to be in a championship teams.
Why is JR Smith even talking? That's what I don't understand. He's not even on the same level as TMac.
theMarkwithamouth he thinks he has a fucking ring with LBJ
I guess he felt like he fit the criteria 😁
Jia Guo that ring doesn't count? He wasn't a big star?
Certified Finest he wasn't a big factor in the finals and he's honestly one of the big reasons they lost in 2015 besides injuries and lack of depth
Jr Smith was the reason why we won a chip go back and look at game 7 GS was going on a run coming out of halftime JR Smith scored nine straight points to get us back in the game and finished the game with 16
hall of fame = individual greatness
JRs Ring = lebrons greatness

The whole rating a player by rings argument is mute to me, simply Patrick Ewing 0 rings-Will Perdue 4 rings, now tell me which one is better.
Pardue didn't shoot 36% in the NBA finals tho
If Will Perdue had to shoulder the offense the way Ewing did, head-to-head against Hakeem, Perdue might've shot 20% with 8 turnovers a game.
Will Perdue didn't even shoot enough to average 36%
Perdue > Ewing
Actually, Will Perdue shot even worse in the 1992 Finals (33%) and 1993 Finals (0%).
Just saying...
One has to wonder how good the Magic would have been if Grant Hill would not have had those unfortunate injuries.
Brian White and how good the Rockets could have been if Yao was injured a little less..
Grant hill would have been 3 sf of all-time if it wasn't for injuries

T Mac out here on the barbershop talk he was one step away from daring JR to catch the fade outside lol
JR Who?
1:01 "He's mistaking anybody for being everybody" - This is the only line I had to hear to know T-Mac 100% right in this case. Honestly haven't listened to the rest but this statement is the perfect one to extract what he was getting at with his comment.
T-Mac gotta be slow or something
Cause he is one of the greats. Ring or no ring you still can be great, now is he better then a player that was in his same position and got a ring? now you got a arugment
Montelo Payso J.R. is not great lmao
JREEL Tru he barely even good lol
JREEL
I was talking about T-Mac being great
Montelo Payso hell yeah tmac better than jr Smith.
Awesome 'Play' in what he 'Say' =Massive Respect
JR needs to chill because he shouldn't even breathe the same air as TMac.
dntrip707 anyone can win a ring lolol
Adam Morrison had rings
So what's your point ?
They would have won with Marcus smart or JJ reddick
Shit the fuck up
He got traded to the number one seed team with 3 all stars lmao
Lit Pusher Imo JR meshes much better for Lebron as a catch and shoot weapon. His shot is more fluid with a quicker release. Tmac has a 2 step shot making him inconsistent as a catch and shoot player. Hence a career 30% from the 3 point line
Lit Pusher however in terms of the complete package, no doubt Tmac has more to offer. However talking in terms of compatibility, Tmac is more as an iso type player rather than a lethal 3 point asset for Lebron's passes
when you are both!! then you're a legend.. can't brag about being one without being another... i love champions who are also MVPS!!
for anyone too young to remember. there were a few years pre-injury where mcgrady was considered the next jordan.
T-Mac you are great! Respect from Turkiye!
T-Mac's right. Adam Morrison has 2 rings.
The funny thing is T-Mac said the hall of fame remark cuz Robert Horry started it by saying T-Mac doesn't have a ring, so he just basically defended himself (and he is right), and now his statement is getting blown outta proportion. Smith obviously took that personally
One of the coolest NBA players I’ve ever met super humble
He killed him with one line "You won't be having this on" 😂😂😂😂 RIP J.R
T-Mac made a easy point to understand. J.R was just a little insecure because he feels like he is one of those guys who dude was referring to, just riding a team into the finals. But T Mac wasn't even talking about him specifically.
I didn't think he would ever get in because of the injuries. But he got in. Kudos.
It's cool that Tracy explained himself because, initially, I had a problem with his original statement, too. What he said could have easily been taken the wrong way. No harm, no foul! =)
The thing is that championships are a TEAM honor but hall of fame is an INDIVIDUAL honor. Like he said anyone can win a championship but not just anyone is going to be inducted in to the hall of fame.
wtf is t mac sitting there like michael corleone since he got in the hof lmao
You know it's personally when he said "Earl" Lol
Lmfao players without rings shouldn't speak on rings
JR Smith will never be in the HOF...bozo
The most unguardable player of all time
Who’s JR Smith?
Tracy is absolutely right, anybody can end up on the end of a championship bench as the 7th thru 15th man, play sparingly and win a championship. There are 10 or 15 players on both teams combined, in the finals, that play minor roles on their team or never see the floor at all. Players cant get into the Hall of Fame in a group, your individual achievements gets you in the Hall of Fame. Its much more difficult to cross the threshold of the Hall of Fame than to win a team championship...thats a fact !
Didn't he take a cut going to the rockets from the magic just asking
T-mac one of the great talent....if tmac prime join in a super team he probably get a ring for sure
Thumbnail look like he about to start his retort with "you tell that muthafucka..."
Tmac in his prime will eat jr smith alive
😂😂😂he is well deserved hall of famer
He has a point. You can be a bench player on a championship team and "win" a ring/become a champion.
Tac in his prime was like the black mamba a beast, unfortunately his career was plagued with injuries. One of my favorites with Jordan and Penny Hardaway.
WELL DESERVED TRACY YOU ARE THE DEFINITION OF HALL OF FAMER TO ME !!!
He's trying to make fun of his name, but his name is Tracy. 😂😂😂
Anytime I see something about Tracy Mcgrady and his playing days (Or Vince Carter's for that matter), makes me wish that these two stuck together in Toronto and gave it more time to work out. Not sure it would have blossom into both of them becoming stars like they did individually, but it would have been interesting to watch!
whats a jr smith to a t-mac, 13 in 33
We'll have one on one between T-MAC vs JR Smith. Who you bet?
"They're not gonna be wearing this orange jacket."
You can tell Tracy really felt a gap by not having formal recognition as an MVP or champion in the NBA. So he's super proud of having the jacket to wear.
Rings only matter if you're comparing two or more players that were all stars on their team.
He called that nigga by his government.. Lmao... We talking about Earl 😅😅🤣
Hall of famers are memorable they leave an imprint in your Kodak moment
I agree with Tmac.
1) Hall of fame+Championships = All time Greats
2) Hall of famers who carried teams for many years but came short of championships
3) Role players who happen to be in a championship teams.
