I tried a heat gun but couldn't get it hot enough to make a difference. You should bake this lexan to get all the moisture out and use a strip heater if you have the right tools. Thanks for watching.
Great job and good thinking on your part. Again, I can't wait to see snowblower in action. I bet your even excited to use your new toy. Don from Milwaukee
Th. They just predicted 130 inches for us this winter so it should get a good workout. Glad I won't have to fight with that Ariens again. Thanks for watching.
@@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 I guess the long range weather forecast I saw on RUclips for your area maybe right? Milwaukee where I live said below normal snowfall.
Great idea, perfection in the finished product as I’ve come to expect. You look just like my friend Charlie, he’s a chemist and like you so interesting to be around. You sure mix it up here.
Having moved from just outside Chicago, to central Florida, my need for a snow shield isn't on the list. But you still get a "thumb's up" for your great video.
Nice job!!! Something I always do when I am using long tie wraps like that is I wrap them twice before putting the end into the lock. Something different......
Just a real clean job. That should keep the wind, cold & snow off your back ‼️👍👍 Vinny 🇺🇸 PS, Maybe add a shield coming from the roof down about 2 feet to keep snow out of your face⁉️. Vinny 🇺🇸
Thanks. I was out in the high winds today and even when facing into the wind it no longer hits me. The side wings create a turbulence that deflected it. Thanks for watching.
No, it just flexes and the pivot ears would break off with any more force on them. Really need a better brake. For a hundred bucks it has been good for thinner materials. Thanks for watching.
So far it has offered enough protection from the snow and wind without being in the way. No sign of stress or cracks from how I bent it so I think it will last. Thanks for watching.
You have to bake lexan at a low temperature before applying heat. It has moisture trapped in it that can cause damage in thicker sheets. Thanks for watching.
With all the complaints I see in the comments, I hope others start making videos about their problems with Ariens machines. The Woodmaxx is a beast. Went through 12 inches of wet snow like nothing.
Wow did that come out good !! Looking forward to seeing it in action I know it will work ! And to think i was thinking you'd be building a cab ... HAHA you fooled me lol great job as always God Bless !
Thanks. Home Depot had the best price on plastic sheets and free shipping to the store. Other companies wanted what I paid for this sheet just to ship it. Have a couple more projects planed for the rest of it. Thanks for watching.
This is lexan and I tried that on the sample. It didn't make a difference. You need a strip heater for this stuff and it should be baked to remove moisture first so it doesnt bubble up. It is basically an insulator so it takes a lot of concentrated heat to bend properly. Acrylic doesn't take much heat to bend.
Great job on it ! it really looks nice you just need to put sides on it and a front and you would have a cab !!! LOL have you thought about putting a electric motor on the turner on the snowblower ? with your shop i know you could do it very ezy !! have a great weekend !!! Kioti Curt :-)
For some reason it was 48 1/4 inches x 96 inches. A little oversize on the width. The jigsaw worked good and the router left a polished looking edge. Thanks for watching.
Great job! Looks perfect. Have a question on the HF brake. Are you happy with it as I've been thinking of getting one. I have a snow plow blade on my B2650 but that would help keeping the wind off my back.
I had to weld an angle to the back of it and add extra bolts to keep the top clamp from slipping back when bending. Other then that it works pretty good for thin stock. A strip heater would be best for this lexan but it should be baked first to remove moisture. Hopefully with the roof it will stop the wind and snow. Thanks for watching.
The true test will be when the temperature drops below zero. I know the panel will shrink quite a bit and hope the tie wraps will make up for that. If not I will switch over. Thanks for watching.
No, I don't have a strip heater. Just v grooved it with a flat to less then the 1/8 inch cold formable dimension they give. You have to be careful hot forming this stuff because of all the moisture trapped in it and it must be baked first. Thanks for watching.
Yes I did. It did not work like my old one and was nothing but problems so I decided to try a small 3 point one that looks like it should work without beating me up like the new Ariens. Thanks for watching.
Should of used a heat gun to prewarm the sheet then format it with a wooden battern straight edge. And for mounting it form a few aluminium brackets in a square C shape in your bender
Awe inspiring quality workmanship done on everything you undertake.
Thanks. I have found out the hard way that it pays to try and do things right the first time. Thanks for watching .
For cutting any type of plastics, use a fine-tooth non-carbide blade and install it on the saw BACKWARDS. Works great!
This sheet was unlike plastics that I had cut in the past. I will have to try that. Thanks for watching.
Very nice. Looks extremely well executed and professional.
Thanks. So far it has helped with the snow and wind without getting in the way. Thanks for watching.
GREAT JOB on the snow shield. Good craftsmanship all around. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks. This plastic was great to work with. Thanks for watching.
I love this idea, i have a b2650 open station, and will be getting a blower when i can find a good deal and this would be perfect.
It really helps keep some of the snow off me and blocks the cold winds if you back into them. Woodmaxx makes awesome blowers. Thanks for watching.
Really neat project. Will sure help keep wind and snow off your neck. Very nice.....
We should soon find out. Thanks for watching.
Nice job! We used a heat gun at the glass shop to soften the material then bend the material toward your heat source. Try it on one of your cutoffs.
I tried a heat gun but couldn't get it hot enough to make a difference. You should bake this lexan to get all the moisture out and use a strip heater if you have the right tools. Thanks for watching.

Your a pretty handy guy! Keep the videos coming.
Thanks. It's nice to have time for projects like this. Thanks for watching.

Thanks. Hope this keeps some of the snow off me. Life has many different challenges. Thanks for watching.
Good job, as usual. I hope it works the way you hope it will. Thanks for sharing.
We should soon find out. They are now predicted extreme cold and 130 inches of snow for us this winter. Thanks for watching.
Nice work. Came out great.
Thanks. Hopefully it helps. Thanks for watching.
Having moved from just outside Chicago, to central Florida, my need for a snow shield isn't on the list.
But you still get a "thumb's up" for your great video.
Thanks. I take it you don't miss the snow and cold. Thanks for watching.
Nice job!!! Something I always do when I am using long tie wraps like that is I wrap them twice before putting the end into the lock. Something different......
That is a great idea. I will have to look for 20 inch tie wraps for next year. Thanks for watching.
Nice Job!!! MAYBE SANTA will have a RTV X -series Kubota Under the Tree?? They look very nice !!!! :)!!
A 1/50th scale model if I am lucky. Thanks for watching.

I want to try it before adding more. Thanks for watching.
You really have one of the most interesting and impressive channels on RUclips. Job well done sir, love the attn to detail.
Thanks. Life in the country keeps us busy. Thanks for watching.
35k subs - congrats!
Another nice mod. Even just cutting the wind should keep you a lot warmer as you work.
Thanks. I was out in the high winds today and even when facing into the wind it no longer hits me. The side wings create a turbulence that deflected it. Thanks for watching.
What a great idea! Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.

Ever think about adding longer handles to your break? That way you could get more leverage on the bending.
No, it just flexes and the pivot ears would break off with any more force on them. Really need a better brake. For a hundred bucks it has been good for thinner materials. Thanks for watching.
I really like that snow shield You made, thanks for the vid !
So far it has offered enough protection from the snow and wind without being in the way. No sign of stress or cracks from how I bent it so I think it will last. Thanks for watching.
Excellent job!
Thanks for watching.
Nice Job. That should work well
Thanks for watching.
Yeah! Another video. Thanks!

Another awesome job!

It looks very professional
Thanks. This material is great to work with. Thanks for watching.
Another AWESOME JOB!! Thank You!!

BEAUTIFUL JOB

Really good job! Just waiting for the snow now 😁
Thanks. It is snowing now but not sticking. Can't wait for a big lake effect storm to try it out. Thanks for watching.
Nice job. That should keep the snow at bay!!!
We should soon find out. Thanks for watching.
Nice work looks great
Thanks for watching.
Great job!
Thanks for watching.
Nice job, thought that would snap if you bend it cold
Thanks. Acrylic would snap, this lexan is tough stuff. Thanks for watching.
That turned out great!!
Thanks. It should help with blowing snow. Thanks for watching.
I'm wondering it hitting it lightly with a propane torch when it was in the brake would have helped it to bend easier.
You have to bake lexan at a low temperature before applying heat. It has moisture trapped in it that can cause damage in thicker sheets. Thanks for watching.
It looks like you may use your new snowblower soon if you're not using now this November 14/15th. I see snow in New York.
We could get a foot tonight. About time.
Well we got a foot. Out to try the blower.
With all the complaints I see in the comments, I hope others start making videos about their problems with Ariens machines. The Woodmaxx is a beast. Went through 12 inches of wet snow like nothing.

I am hoping this will be enough but if it isn't it would be easy to close in the rest in the future. Thanks for watching.
we have a nice new heated and ac cabs at the dealer for all theL series bx's and F and ZD,s seriesand GRsries for options and optional am and fm radio
You should make a windshield also!
I plan on going across one side plus the front once I see how this works out.
great job!
Thanks for watching.
Good work.
I priced out a big piece of plexi to make a Pepper's Ghost hollusion for Halloween.
Man was it expensive, so I passed.
Thanks. Home Depot had the best price on plastic sheets and free shipping to the store. Other companies wanted what I paid for this sheet just to ship it. Have a couple more projects planed for the rest of it. Thanks for watching.

nice job that will be nice when it snows.

I am going to see how this works before going any further. My last video was adding a winch motor so I am ready for snow. Thanks for watching.
That looks really good on your tractor. It looks like you bought that aleady made. Great work! Are cabs for those tractors expensive?
Thanks. I think the cabs are 4 to 5k . This should help a lot with the rear blower. Thanks for watching.
I thought your beard was gone a couple of times, very close to the router
That would make my wife happy. Thanks for watching.
looks great
Is the sheet 4'x8' to start?
I was thinking that a jigsaw might be the way to cut it.... ha
For some reason it was 48 1/4 inches x 96 inches. A little oversize on the width. The jigsaw worked good and the router left a polished looking edge. Thanks for watching.

bonjour , i install my blade backwar for plexiglass , will you put a wiper.
This stuff is lexan and it is a whole different animal. I will try that. No wiper untill i try it. Thanks for watching.
Add u bolts if ties loosen.
The true test will be when the temperature drops below zero. I know the panel will shrink quite a bit and hope the tie wraps will make up for that. If not I will switch over. Thanks for watching.
I have to ask. engineer, master machinist, or what before?
Mechanical engineer that worked at bringing new technology to life. Thanks for watching.
did you heat before you did the bend,i might have missed it
No, I don't have a strip heater. Just v grooved it with a flat to less then the 1/8 inch cold formable dimension they give. You have to be careful hot forming this stuff because of all the moisture trapped in it and it must be baked first. Thanks for watching.
Nice job. Will a windshield work?
Want to try this first. Don't know if a windshield would just catch the snow on the inside when it blows. Thanks for watching.
by the way, hows the seat doing for your back???
It has been amazing. I see the new Kubota BX tractors now come with a better seat. Thanks for watching,
your videos are amazing-your the smartest man on youtube!!!!
Is that a Kobota canopy ???
Yes it is. Thanks for watching
That DeWalt router, what model is that?
It is a Dewalt DWP611. These routers are amazing. I have 2, one for the cnc router and one for everything else. Thanks for watching.
Darn you sure are handy
Learning something new with every project. Thanks for watching.
😊
What is a Kabuta ?
A little one that hasn't grown up yet. Thanks for watching.
I guess you gave up on the walk behind blow snower. (edited to fix spelling error)
Yes I did. It did not work like my old one and was nothing but problems so I decided to try a small 3 point one that looks like it should work without beating me up like the new Ariens. Thanks for watching.
