Minilla is honestly kind of cute and seeing Godzilla try to be a good dad just gives him more depth as a character. Some people just want to see him destroy things without mercy and I reply "then watch a hurricane."

All Monsters Attack was a VERY weird movie. It seemed like it was an exercise in seeing how much of a movie they could make using as much stock footage as possible, though I recall it being used as an attempt to see if it could be made into a TV series (and I think it was for a short while).
This was my 5th Godzilla movie and for some reason I thought minilla looked creepy but I thought that the movie was still very good except when kumonga was on screen

I rewatched Son of Godzilla recently (all the Showa movies are free on RUclips!) - I was shocked at how interesting the plot was if you take Godzilla, the girl and the son of Godzilla out of it. It kinda seemed like another case where somebody had a cool idea for a standalone film but Toho didn't have faith it would work, so shoehorned in Godzilla and a child-friendly new character. The story of a team of UN meteorologists experimenting with weather manipulation technology accidentally causing the gigantification of insects is very similar in tone to American giant monster classics like "The Beginning of the End". The scene where the crew are terrorized by the giant spider is still quite gripping even today in my opinion. I love Godzilla, but I think Son of Godzilla would have made a more interesting and compelling stand alone movie than the one we ultimately got. That said, it was still better than Mechagodzilla.
It would be great if Legendary studios bought the rights to Minilla from Toho like they bought the rights to Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah and create a Monsterverse version of Minilla who helps Godzilla fight his enemies!
Here's my theory on the Son of Godzilla and wifey looks like a walking turd. THEORY: those three mantis attacked the are you cracked it open, and in doing so forced the Son of Godzilla to be born prematurely and deformed. So what we have is the Son of Godzilla but then the way he does because he was a premature birth not allowed to fully develop. And Gabara looks like he's just toho's version of the British film gorgo. And in that film one of them was The Offspring in one was the adult. Gabara seems more like a teenager, and as a teenager he would not want to fight a full-grown that has experience in fighting
