This video takes A LOT of inspiration from scenes from "Daisies", a Czech film by Věra Chytilová from 1966, part of the Nová Vlna movement. Look it up, the full movie is on RUclips.
Mary, *PLEASE* tell me you're not done with Wild Flag!! Mary Timony and Carrie Brownstein in the same band was like something from another planet!!! You had one of the best drummers ever in that band - the world needs more Wild Flag albums.
Who's the bassist? I saw her in the awesome Chain & The Gang "Devitalize" vid. Saw Mary open for Sonic Youth years ago - she was actually the highlight of the evening. Love Ian - guy needs to do more acting.
Hernán Fariñas Vales Yeah it is the typical thing that you've heard more or less in many places before...i mean a part of the guitar part...in Blue Oyster Cult too among other things...i don't know why i'm talking alot of BOC those days...probably coincidence... whatever... Ex Her don't pretend to push "progressive" bounderies to unknowns territories...they're not damn as serious as radiohead...thanx Jesus
I think at this point they are the millionth band to use that chord progression, so, probably safe to say that it's not exactly completely controlled by the Lou Reed estate ;)

I spotted that, as well.
As did I. Great film. Sweet tune.
PhilandtheOsophers was about to say that.
+PhilandtheOsophers Maybe a tad of Sweet Movie thrown in there, too?
Ha! I thought it was a nod to the INXS video, but that's probably a nod to the movie you're talking about.
Great to hear Mary Timony back in action! Thanks!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!! I completely missed this!!! SO happy there's new Mary Timony related stuff!!!!
Hello, band I've never heard of before, I can see we're going to get along well!

Yes, her name is Janet Weiss and she also plays for Sleater-Kinney and Quasi. She's one of the best drummers around.
Just listened to to their album, "Rips". What a killer work.Much recommended
My DC friend sent me a link to this band. Instant fan. Hope they tour Boston soon.
The guys hair, love it
I'm in love.. The music is fantastic, and the videos are very quirky and I really enjoy them. Great job ladies.

Maybe it's just me , but some guitar parts sound like Sweet Jane and some towards the end sound like Heroin.

I'm liking what I'm hearing. Oh, Spotify...
Has a 50's, 60's, 70's vibe?
I can't place it, it has a garagey 60's thing, but the string-bends are 70's
classic rock.
likeeeee
Best part: Mary's bends at 0:30.
Is that Ian S. ?
The intro sounds A LOT like Sweet Jane by Lou Reed. Suspicious but nice anyway.

I was thinking Crimson and Clover. The guitar motif repeated for the second half of the song is lifted right out of My Sharona.
killyourtelevision
ok just logic :-) ... Do you know Ned's Atomic Dustbin ?
News Flash! Nothing is original and that's OK!
the food tho
The See Food Diet, when I see food I eat it.
Yummy!
Noticeable Mountain Ranch
Walking on the table? Pure RATT!
so you've never seen the movie/musical hair before? :(
This sounds like Simple Song by The Shins at times
Billy Dee Licious... Mmmmm
that man has a lot of hair.
hey that guy was drumming for helium the other nite.
Pete Dixon!
I wonder if they had to pay Lou Reed for ripping off his "Sweet Jane" riff.
+BobSeger1981 If not....they should.
I think at this point they are the millionth band to use that chord progression, so, probably safe to say that it's not exactly completely controlled by the Lou Reed estate ;)
Guy is only salty because it's girls that used it this time.
Lou just ripped off Tommy James crimson and clover
does anyone else think Betsy looks a bit like Madonna?
