Big Elm, Jimmys, Walts, Dairy King. There used to be an old house everyone called the mansion near Big Elm. There were wild parties and a stabbing. The old Shinnston pool. I saw Frank Cox's brother jump off the buliding into the deep end. Caseys used to called T&R. I remember sitting there eating a Giovanni with my buddy Dave when WV upset Oklahoma. Great town to grow up in.
Thanks for putting this up the royal Chrysler is were my dad would buy his cars that old ice cream stand is old my dad would take us there. When he was home on leave the big red big in town used to be a g.c. Murphy years ago the Charles st church is where my aunt and uncle still attend there used to be a little house to the right of it that we lived in with my mom's parents also I went to that old big red school in the sixtys
I thought that old ice cream stand was really neat! There aren't very many of those left these days, and it's even more rare to find one open. I also thought that Royal Chrysler building was cool! It looks like there may have been offices upstairs at one time? I like how they repurposed the old movie theater, too! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you for sharing your memories!
The upstairs of the Chrysler building was living area in fact my dad's mother my grandma's sister lived up there with her husband and family also the graveyard is where my grandparents and some other relatives are buried

The guy who owned Royal Chrysler tried to fake his death. He hired a couple guys to dig up a body and have it burned in a car.
