I would not disregard Madness at all. I think of the two, Madness offers a bit more. Lightning is just a lot of fun to play. Madness offers about the same dps, it has a burst dps option, and self heals. But if you want to throw lightning bolts around, then this is the path for you!
@@pug0222 I am not a huge fan of the current Madness PM build / rotation, seems like you have to use that if you want to do top DPS, hes it based on a bug / some abilities not working correctly. Im just coming back to the game after 3 years away, so doing a bit of catch up.
Great guide! I recently came back but no more than like 5 months of this game in so far in total. This is first class I chose. I have several 80s. But this is kind of discouraging as I learn more about it. Granted I am only level 37 atm and on Nar Shadaa. But that is a lot of pre buffs to keep up at all times isn't it? Bubble, force potency, force speed, weaken mind, and they all fall off so quickly, like I am sure it gets easier but seems like a lot, like you wouldn't be able to focus on what you are doing as much, and the class relies on the speed. Might not be quick enough or smart enough.
This is one of the more difficult classes to play at the top of the dps range. That is why I worked on developing a fix rotation. In many situations it is more important to look up from your tray of abilities and look at what is happening in the fight. Like your opponent's casting. With the fix rotation, the only thing you have to do now, is glance down to the force potency, force speed and mental alacrity at the start of your rotation. The issue with this class comes into focus when you have to constantly pause dps and start again. The buffs you loose really impact the damage you can do. Your other option is to look at playing balance. In my opinion Balance is a better class to play for a whole bunch of reasons.
No, pvp isn't just about doing one thing. There is quite often the game within the game going on. It becomes very situational. You can definitely start with these guides as a jump off point. I will highlight that in PvP spike damage at the correct moment combined with team work is the best and most common strategy. Consider other tacticals and if you do yellow damage go to 0 accuracy. With white damage go to 5% accuracy. Good luck!
There isn't a very good AoE option. On line 23 you would select Suppressive Current/ Dormant Tremors. But this doesn't do as much. TK Sage is a single target burst class for the most part. Balance/Madness is a better AoE option with dot spreads.
awesome work men keep it going !!!!
Great updated guide to an already awesome class.
Always with the nice guides, with great detail, good job, keep it up.
Really appreciate this guide! And it's so much fun too!
awesome work on this guide! thanks. was on the fence of going Madness or Lightning.

Was wondering, would you consider to make a AOE build plz?

@@pug0222 thank you very much
Thanks a bunch. One of the weakest classes in the game. You are my hero.
