Don't focus too much on R.... even if you come and live in France for 20 years, you'll never lose your accent, so a little mismatch isn't too important. One of the first mistake done in french from foreigner is reversed words (I know, as french, I also put words in english at the wrong place!) Anyway, some word you pronounced were perfect!
Omg! The introduction!! Look at French just rattle off your tongue like you were birth by the Eiffel Tower lol.... nice going girlie, very much an inspiration 👍🏽👍🏽
I really enjoyed this video! You should definitely make more videos with Max -- I find this video and the soup tasting video the best ones in your channel personally. It is helpful seeing both a native French speaker and an advanced learner conversing together, and cool to see an active learning process. Look forward to seeing more videos of you two!
This was super useful! There's so many different sounds you don't notice without a teacher ( or royal consort, in your case) . The subtitles are super useful, too.
I just moved to Chambéry in France for my study abroad year. Normally I study in Scotland, but I am Norwegian. Watching you learn french is really helpful! Personally I suck at speaking french. I'm just too shy and too nervous to try. This video was really helpful with the R! Keep making videos, it's nice to watch someone learning the language instead of french speakers (they speak so fast here it's impossible to feel confident around them!!).
This is so helpful!! Thank you for this video, and please continue to make videos with native French speakers when you can. It is really beneficial to compare the different pronunciations and the common mistakes we often make as native English speakers. Great job to both of you, I will be subscribing and hope to see future videos like this !! Lots of love from America ❤️❤️❤️
I just found your videos & am very excited! My boyfriend is also French and I am starting to learn French. I find your videos very motivating! Good luck with the rest of your French studies!
Please make more videos speaking in french! Love listening to your french speaking videos.. i play them while im cooking and its helping me.. i live in france and find it so hard trying to pick up what native speakers say.. so please make more! 😘😘
Thank you very much for posting this video. It is very helpful for beginners like me. Is it possible to post another video on the pronunciation of the letter 'u' which is also different in French?
Heey, super vidéo comme d'habitude ! J'ai juste remarqué que souvent Max ne te corrigeait pas à chaque fois que tu faisais des erreurs à l'oral or que ce serait cool qu'il le fasse pour certains mots pas tous ! Pleins de gros bisous à vous deux, vos vidéos ensemble sont super ! Hâte de voir une nouvelle vidéo ❤️
So I speak both English and Spanish and I have trouble with the Rs and it goes on and of with the English and Spanish Rs sovthanks this helped me out with them
Hi Amanda, Max is fluent in English so predominately English. We speak French for fun sometimes though.😄 You can hear a bit more about my deciding to learn French 'for Max' here: ruclips.net/video/47rhqknI7yY/видео.html&
The Édith Piaf r style pronunciation was actually just the way French singers sang in those days. Kind of like many modern English speaking singers put on what I call the modern singer accent. Nobody really spoke that way, they just sang that way. Even Piaf didn't naturally speak that way. See: ruclips.net/video/EpWK35pA5XY/видео.html This is not meant to criticize, I just thought maybe someone would find it interesting because I myself always did wonder where the "Piaf r" came from before I found out. I can do the French r but that Piaf r....I laughed at Max not being able to do it either. I wonder how these singers managed to do it.
Did you improve your R!? What types of videos would you like to see next?
passe compose vs imparfait would be nice

I usually overcompensate. If I don't I choke on it, roll it, or hiss it. I was practicing just now and my cat looked really scared! XD
Oh dear! Keep practising and you'll get there one day!

Hi Kenia, thank you so much for your kind words! We made up those introductions as a joke but it was too funny not to include! 😄
