I must say mate I'm a Computer Hardware Engineer and this is the most thorough dissassembly and restoration of a laptop I have ever seen.
I have also learned quite a bit, thank you my friend you have a new subscriber! You certainly do put a lot of work in and it really is excellent work, cheers mate from Ireland.
This laptop is very close to my heart, my first one.

this channel inspired me to restore my brother's old laptop ... upgraded the motherboard asus X202e, upgraded the heatsink (now with one heatpipe) change damaged keyboard and battery...
thanks all the way from Philippines...
Andrew, you're the inspiration of my restorations. As always, you did a great job on this laptop. Greetings from Brazil.
Love the final look of the laptop. The paint job looks super professional and high quality. Very well done!
Yes
I like how this channel slowly improving, I'm actually surprised how much improved your english also. More power to you sir.
Im from India. I used to watch your videos. And now I had made a laptop from scrap to a high performance one. With higher ram, ssd.. my 12 year old scrap laptop now boots windows 10 pro within 20 seconds now... With the core 2 duo processor.. thanks for inspiring me. Thank you so much.
I have to say thank you Andrew. Thanks to your motivating videos, I modded my Toshiba Satellite A500-1GR and painted it like a CVR/FDR (the "black boxes" in an airliner) and I also even managed to put an "unsupported" CPU inside it (Core i7 620M). And it works fine ! =) Greetings from France =)
My Daughter had an older HP G6 that I cleaned up used automotive spray and filled up with a clear coat. Replaced the fan, upgraded the processor, ram and put in an SSD drive, Windows 10. Your example is above and beyond the "Call of Duty", great job. Very inspiring.
Nice can't believe you restore this types of laptop
anyone watching this at 2x times speed?
I always watch his videos on 1.25 speed
@@ChazzyChazzGaming Then I need to speed up :D
im still on normal times speed and i enjoyed it.
@Cat and Andrew ur good but the video is long , i mean its a 25 min !!
I like normal speed
This was basically the very first laptop I ever disassembled and I learned most of my craft from these. The compaq-HP 2000/G6/D600 etc machines were rudimentary but hold a place in my repair tech heart.
New video, new incredible result! That paint effect is so cool! Thanks for the tips!
I still own a similar model of HP (G62-361tx). Its been over 10 years now and still works like a charm.
Love your videos, keep up!
Next time will you Try to include some temps during gaming, that would be perfect. Thanks pro for the great content.
I found out that your "cat" is actually Computer and Technology. What a clever idea !👍👍
the amount of hard work you have taken for this video is not imaginable brother, keep up the good work 😍😍😍
It's so good to see laptops get repaired and upgraded. Less laptops in the landfill.
The G6 was a line of budget laptops. I have one, in the same colour, and it's a Core i5 with Amd graphics.
Its good in performance if you upgrade the ram to 8 gb you can good games like forza horizon 4, GTA 5...etc
I still have an HP Pavillion g6 2011 in almost mint condition. It was my first laptop ever and I still use it occasionally as it gives me a sense of nostalgia.
Me too I use it for gaming ....It just needs some ram upgrades and you can even play GTA 5.....At least 8 gb ram upgrade for GTA 5
@@Kratosplayzyt7777 yes im using for 12years amd gta 5 is working fine with 4gb ram

Hello Andrew, I am sure your the best on YT to restore laptops/computers. The results in your videos are impressive!
Great restoration and mods! The beauty of the pc platform is the massive backlog of games plus ability to emulate classic consoles 👍
I had same exact model when I was in college 7 years ago.. I think this was the great laptop in terms of long time uses as it's working till now.
Andrew you're a wizard. Thanks for the inspiration.
This is a REAL restoration. Unlike other fake channels out there...
OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is my first laptop and still works the best.
really touched my heart. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
For a laptop as old as it is, It did wonders for me with its AMD Config, Found one dead in a parts bin at my school and restored it, lasted me almost several years!
Watching HP G6 restoration from HP G6 laptop😉
Same here
My goodness, you are a magician. You turned garbage into gold, that laptop looks cool.
11:15 When you glue this back together with super glue, you can make this 10 times stronger if you put a layer of toillet paper first, cut the toillet paper a bit bigger than the crack you are trying to glue, than apply the glue on top of the toillet paper, if you have multilayered toillet paper, seperate the layers so you end up with a very thin layer, you may laugh at this but i saw this trick when The Retro Future made his elongated game boy video, he also uses this trick, and i tested it on a broken off fin from my cpu cooler and it actually works very well! It would not hold if i tried to glue the fin back on like you do with the bezel of your display, but with that single layer of toillet paper, its very strong, the cpu fan is in my pc now and has been for the last 6 months and it still goes strong! So give that a try if the bezel cracks again, you will be stunned how good this trick works! Great video man!
Gosh, this laptop were used in a war zone...? Poor boy...Far one of the best videos I've ever watched on RUclips! Absolutly an amazing job on that HP laptop! Really incredible!
Yo, after long time man🤣😅😅😅
1 thing that i don’t like about your videos is too much ads 🤣🤣.. but really love your works, there so much things i can learn from u about how to deal with a broken and repairing laptop
This laptop looks like the dude literally put it in the bin. Its quite sad that HE WOULD DO THIS TO A WINDOWS 7 LAPTOP!
Hey Windows 7! You're the best OS

Windows 7, you are hands down the best!!!!!!!!
I had a laptop with the same case! Mine was the Intel version, though, with a Sandy Bridge i5. I bought it from a second-hand store when I was an exchange student in UK, so it was rather cheap, but very useful.

6:08 if you remove the keys and clean the keyboard ⌨️ it will be faster and easier
You can't remove the keys of this keyboard model. It is one time assembly which if you try to take it apart, the keys socket holder with break or snap.
@@ClayWheeler You can't remove them?!
@@reianae.smiley8573 yes, the keyboard itself is a rigid design, and was never designed to be reparable. But I have to admit that HP Laptop keyboard especially for this particular model on the video, is just $5 Brand New.

You have to be so carefull with a laptop when taking it apart because of those tiny little cables.
One harsh move and you might break it.

hi andrew! Im from philippines. Youre great when in comes to upgrading and modification. your the best!
in any other scenario i would say dont use alcohol on any display because it will damage the coating on top (mostly on matte displays though) but because we are in this pandemic id say its fine ..
also if u use water and soap on a microfiber cloth u will get better results faster and its safer to the display
I loved the care and time you spent with an older laptop.
But, the only thing different I would have done was to make
the paint smooth instead of the textured. The finish would
have been beautiful.
But, remember. This is only my opinion. I love the passion spent.
Best wishes and keep the videos coming my friend. Greg
