- Deworming cats or kittens is important. Kittens can be born with worms transmitted from their mother. Most of the time we won't see them in the stool. This is why deworming is so important at a young age. Most deworming programs start as early as 2 - 3 weeks of age. De-worming kills the adult stage of the worm. As eggs hatch, additional deworming is necessary. For this reason, your veterinarian will likely recommend multiple doses.

It poops them out. You will notice them in the cat's stool, however my understanding is that worms are dead by the time they come out.

A Pink Cat Lover no it took time I mostly saw them in their poop. They’d come out alive THEN die a lot of the time.

The worms don't appear in my kitten's poop, they literally come out its ass

There should not be any problem with vaccines and general deworming. Always ask your Veterinarian specifically regarding your pet.

look up nemex-2 on amazon and read the comments. i found it helpful. same meds my vet uses only she didnt bother to tell me they needed multiple treatments i had to find that out on utube. so im buying the dewormer and am doing it myself. vet charged me $400 for 5 kittens when the med was only $6 a treatment.
@@relevant.c5411 Vets will very rarely use the over the counter de-wormers. If they do, you should probably find a new vet.

The Deworm is picked for the specific worm you are treating. Many dewormers like stringed can be used for dogs, cats, and other species.

Pyrantel is a very common dewormer used primarily against roundworms and hookworms in cats. Common brand names for pyrantel include Strongid and Nemex. Usually dosed at 4 weeks of age or older followed by a second dose 2 weeks later. Multiple doses may be necessary beyond the two weeks as directed by your veterinarian. We always recommend taking a fecal sample to your Veterinarian.
