When I was a child We was always down the "old end” of ingoldmells, I heard the boating lake has been closed down which is a shame because I loved it there and went every year. It was like a second home.
When it flooded in the 1950`s my Granddad brought sandbags from Lincoln in one of his lorries. The sea took some land. I`m sure you could still see a building when it was at low tide when I was young. After the war the land was really cheap at Skeg. My great Uncle brought some land at Chapel and is a huge caravan park now.
Hi I’ve just come across your channel and I love it the fact you say and keep us updated with what’s new and happening before we come for the new season is great I’ve been coming for 30yrs + every year we have a van at the min down by the anchor pub so thank you I will follow and subscribe and say hello is I see ya out and about 👍
The part where you started to walk down at 14:30 through to the beach looks a lot nicer than when I walked down about 19 months ago in August of 2022... It was honestly the worse place I've visited on the planet in my lifetime!... I'm not snobby, as I love Blackpool and similar places but this was another level of chav!... I've also never seen so much filth... On the front there were 2 piles of 6ft high rubbish and trash strewn everywhere in fact... Underwear and clothing left all over the beach and path and used nappies laying about... I've never seen anything like it before or since and it was like the result of an apocalypse!... I felt ashamed to be British to be honest... It actually looks okay now in this video though with it being empty and clean lol.
Many thanks for the update. interesting about the Spar shop (was that the former bingo hall, talking about memories?) - I asked and you kindly did! Looking forward to seeing it all in the Summer - when I was there in March last year, there was snow on the beach!!!
The last time I went to Ingoldmells was 20 ish years ago. It's really strange seeing how much it's changed since then. Further down the road from where you started, there was an arcade that had a laser quest arena. My brother and I used to camp that place and challenge other groups that showed up to play. Now that arcade is a supermarket and a Poundland which is sad to see. @10:50 That used to be the bingo hall with a car park next to it that my grandparents used to spend their evenings at while my brother and I caused mischief elseware. I have so many summer memories there, watching this is making me consider booking a caravan.
Good morning Neil, just come across your RUclips channel and I've gotta say your videos are great, we've just watched Skegness and then I subscribed and found all your other videos, now we're gonna watch Ingoldmells, all the places we go to when we go to the East coast, from Leeds where we live, as we always stay in a nice seaside town called Mablethorpe, we can't believe that you've not been there yet, it's biger than Ingoldmells too! It's now got a Tesco, as well as a Co-op, Lidl, Large Greggs and just the back end of last year a B&M, Store!!!! Why don't you give Mablethorpe a visit when you're over that way again, Steven and Pauline Leeds
Hi Steven and Pauline, Thank you so much for this wonderful message, I really appreciate the great feedback and support and it’s great to hear you are both enjoying the content that I am making. Mablethorpe, is definitely a great place to visit which this year I will be doing more there, so if you see me around please come over and say hello, I should have some free key rings with me. There is a few videos of mablethorpe that I have done last year which are on the channel if you haven’t come across them yet, also Sutton on sea and down the coast to Skegness. Thank you for subscribing and keep enjoying the video, NeilR 😎🙏
Well the Greggs is news to me I’ve not heard about that however the post office (spar) I don’t use all that much but walked up there about a week ago to send a parcel to find it had gone with no signage about it returning well nothing I could see anyway, not sure if there was anything in the shop before it closed because I don’t use it all that much as I normally use the Tesco Express in the village as it’s closer for me. I would like to think that the post office closure is just temporary as a lot of the villagers were cut off when we lost the old post office in the village so this one became a lifeline as now you have to go to either Winthorpe or Chapel which is a bit of a track. As for the beach the “pier” has been like that all winter a total mess. Hope they clear it up soon. Great video once again!!!
Great video as always neil. I've no video footage from year's ago but can you remember when fantasy Island was just a small fair with just a few rides that looked like a waste ground. I can't wait to come down again with the family in late July and spoil my granddaughter 👍👍👍👍
Neil we've enjoyed watching both of your video as we're going to Skeggy this year for the first time question what other places , town, are nice to visit we like hoping on a bus and venturing out many thanks xx
Hi, you could catch the bus to visit more places down the coast like chapel Saint Leonards Sutton on Sea and Mablethorpe. They all have very nice beaches and are very nice places to visit. I have done videos last year on these places take a look see what you think the nearest city could visit would be the city of Lincoln, but on the bus, it’s quite a fair distance. Enjoy your stay in Skegness and thank for the message and subscribing. NeilR 🙏👍
Will do, apparently there’s going to be a lot of landscaping done around that area so when they finished it I’ll go and take a look and do a bit of filming for you. 😎🙏👍
Hi you can do both, buy a wristband for the all rides or you can get a card and add credit to it, so if there’s only few rides you are interested on going on you can do it that way, but I suggest you buy a wristband for the day it works out cheaper and you will really enjoy all the rides. 😎🙏👍
They left just over a year ago, the hair stall has gone too, there’s some great garden ornaments stalls, key cutting, dog shop (brilliant pet treats), leave your luggage and a really nice food stall on the same market they were on though (Glen Park Market)

Hi David,
I agree a bit there, hence me mentioning the council doing a bit more to keep it looking better.
@@neilrgreatestadventures That's good news, hopefully they keep on top of it.

Caught a good day, so many wet memories of Ingol and Chappel ha
Also too late sadly, no seedy postcards, kiss me quick hats and penis lollys, woke has killed history

The Greggs hasn’t been officially announced yet but a friend of mine who works in the spar told me about it last month
@@THEEXPOSER666 good too know. Bet it’s only seasonal. Nobody goes up there after October. Very rare I do unless I take my dog on the beach…
@@Dean256 I don’t think so as the supermarket isn’t seasonal, will be used by the locals who live on ingoldmells ect
