I've been waiting to see Mablethorpe. Lovely to see and another great video. I think the Empire was a Bingo Hall back in the day. It's a family run business from what I've read. Now Empire Ammusments. I've been to Disney World Florida, Euro Disney. But you just can't beat the English Seaside. Something very special I'd say. Love seeing Golden Sands too.

Love Mablethope beach much better than ours it’s a lot cleaner for a start and properly maintained. As for empire as far as I’m aware is just the name for Empire Amusements and the family business owns the whole site included the shops. It’s been in the same family for as long as I can remember. The new swimming baths and leisure centre I’ve been told by the staff at Meridian Leisure Centre in Louth should be in July but it might be August depending on a few things. I’m looking forward to it as when it opens I’m moving to that one from Meridian as the facilities look brilliant and it’s closer for me. I will not go to the Skegness pool on principle last time I went there it was filthy. I’ve been told it’s got better but not tried it for a long time. Great video once again mate…
My mum loved Mablethorpe. I last visited in 2009 and it's a town frozen in time. It was on Mablethorpe beach when we were buzzed by a Vulcan bomber. In those days the RAF did their training flights up and down the coast. Loved it.

Haven’t been to Skegness or Mablethorpe in 2 years heading down in September and watching this video as it gets closer to going is making me excited! . I’ve been going to Skegness and Mablethorpe since I was a really young child and I love it they’re like my second homes . Going to scatter some of my dad’s and aunties ashes 😢

Used to go to Golden Sands in 60/70s a s kid. Loved it. Think it's got to big now with Haven. Love Mablethorpe though

Hi Neil , two trains run to golden sands , SANDY so called because she runs along the beach from town to Haven G.S and LANDY called that as she runs along the road from the carpark between Jacksons amusements and THE BECK to golden sands and i believe actually goes as far as the gates on the park (well it did last year ) theres also a good bus service to and from town or a pleasant walk with plenty of benches for us golden sands oldies lol ,great video by the way ,been with you from almost the beginning and must say your,re getting better all the time ,sometimes the commentry gets a little repetative so you could always insert a bit of uncopywrited music ,or get caught out by youtube for not covering over music in arcades and fairgrounds otherwise keep up the great work .

Would it be possible for you to food review the restaurant 'Cheeky Monkeys' In Mablethorpe? Such a great place too go to. Lovely people, arcade games and even a play area for the children. The food is also spectacular! Given this a well deserved like, thank you Neil keep up the great work!!

Haven have brought Holivans which is in between the two Haven sites so from next season it will all be one big Haven site. We go once a year to catch up with friends we stay on the Mablethorpe Chalet Park now

The Empire you mentioned used to be a garage which later became Fred's Bingo arcade. There was an entrance on the High St below the sign and also a much wider entrance round the corner on Wellington Road.
Later there was an Empire Garage on George St which was opposite the Lyric Cinema which was next door to Three Ways restaurant
I never knew it was a garage how long ago was this? I’ve always know it as a family arcade business
Yes it was in Fred's family for many years although I'm not sure who owns it now.
I was born in 1960 and spent my early years in Mablethorpe. I went to school then later worked at Empire Garage on George Street.
As a teenager I knew Fred quite well. It was him who told me about the garage.
I don't remember him telling me a specific year when it changed to an arcade though unfortunately.
I do, however, remember the 'Laughing Sailor' at the High Street entrance. It used to scare the cr*p out of me when I was a kid lol...ohh those eyes 😆 😂
Neil mablethorpe beach looks decent unfortunately the town lacks the shops as for golden sands just a big caravan park not much else

I’m sorry but somebody’s got to say it point 1 golden sand is part of Mablethorpe as is Queen’s Park Mablethorpe doesn’t start and end with high street, where the shops are on the beach it’s a lot wider spread than that point 2 come back in the winter and see how hard we actually have it with shops closing at 3 and that’s if they actually open at all, we’re massively deprived compared to most places, we’re not just a tourist attraction and so many of us actually live here. We love our town but it lacks so much support
due to this video going out I think you will find a lot more tourists visiting mablethorpe, I have a lot of people saying they have watched my video and will be visiting, please don’t put a downer on it, I’m only trying to help 👍
I don't believe so as it's personal preference through everything in life people always come here if they want to but in essence our lovely town that I and so many other live in does lack genuine support

Mablethorpe is mainly older generation, this is why you see a lott of mobility scooters because the older people struggle to get about. I love mablethorpe, the people are so kind here.
@sarah-du4ln I only live 20 minutes away form mablethorpe and go quiet a lot in the summer, but find it difficult to wach the people leveling the scooters and running across the road.
I remember going to golden sands in 1968..I can even remember the camp song..golden sands is that the place for me
