I've been using it since May of this year and I find I *need* the moisturizer buffer in order to use it consistently without irritation, and I learned that this was "ok" from you. And honestly, I'm finding that my results, at least, don't appear to be minimized by this practice. So I thank you for this! :-)

    I would like to see you review skincare lines Dermatologists are selling in their offices (Skinmedica, Obagi, ZO Skin Health, Epionce, Alastin, etc.)

    • @kates7837
      @kates7837 5 лет назад +7

      Would like to see IS Clinical included in that as well. I was talked into buying a few of their products in a dr. office, including the popular Active Serum for my acne, because the cosmetic RN said that I needed to use products that were medical grade to be effective (ie the other AHA/BHA and HA serums weren’t effective because they weren’t marketed as medical grade cosmeceuticals). But I’m feeling like that may be BS unless we’re talking about legitimate prescriptions. I don’t think there’s a lot of regulation with cosmeceuticals in terms of strength or proven efficacy, so unless they’re doing double blind peer reviewed studies, how do we know the products and their delivery systems of the same ingredients are more effective? I also use SkinMedica Retinol because I perceive it to be more effective given it’s sold in Dr.’s offices, but I wonder if there’s truth in that. Anyway, would love to hear Dr. Dray thoughts on that and reviews of those type of lines and their popular products.

    • @Bluuve
      @Bluuve 4 года назад

      @@Alisha21210 , no not if she reviewed several instead of only 1 or 2, besides she could mix other sunscreens with it---- it does not have to be only what is in another doctor's office. Perricone used to be --and I don't know for about now-- but it was only sold in doctors' offices and that has been reviewed widely, not this channel but others.

    • @Bluuve
      @Bluuve 4 года назад

      @@kates7837 , no "retinol" is going to be nearly as effective as prescription Retin-A , with the exception of a little more action by the formula known as Differen. I'm so surprised that your Doctor try to sell such a thing out of his office when he could write prescriptions for his patients.
      He probably makes a lot of money off of the Cosmetic things, none at all from the prescriptions. This should tell us something-- why Retin-A is not marketed ---it doesn't need to be.. Results and science stand behind it, and all of the others have nothing. So called medical grade retinol is just very very expensive cosmetic formulas, with very minimal action.

      Just reading your comment, so am I correct in thinking that the hydroboost is a water drawing product and we should use a moisturizer over it. I use the hydroboost on Dr Dray s advice but have never used anything over it so don't get that really moisturised feeling.

    • @margolane8529
      @margolane8529 5 лет назад +1

      @@PM-ji1wv yes, you'll want to use a more occlusive moisturizer over the Neutrogena hydro boost. I use the hydro boost in the night time routine. After I pat my face dry, I apply the hydro boost, differin, and then CeraVe moisturizing cream. The hydro boost does a good job of letting the defferin and CeraVe sink into the skin. During the day you'll want to put another moisturizer or sunscreen on top as well

    This has been very eye opening, so thank you so much for doing this video. ❤ I know this will get lots of views, so I wanted to ⚠️⚠️⚠️WARN⚠️⚠️⚠️ your subs about a mistake I made a few years ago that really damaged my skin: DON'T OVER EXFOLIATE!! I never had any issues with my skin until I started using a spin brush twice a day (one of those times was with a harsh face scrub). I unknowingly stripped the protective barrier and became hyper sensitive to nearly all my makeup and skincare ... even SPF. I also developed contact dermatitis and my eczema flares became so frequent I couldn't wear makeup at all. One incident was so severe it left permanent damage and got into my eyes ... I looked like a burn victim and was on 3 forms of antibiotics. I'm in Canada, in a rural area, so it can take up to a year to see a dermatologist, and none of the doctors I saw asked about my cleansing routine. It took over a year for me to realize I was stripping my skin barrier, and I did so doing research online, thanks to people like you.

Also please make a dedicated video on ceramides and the different types of them (and why some products only choose certain ceramides). I would love to see content like that (:

    I switched to the CeraVe tub and I have not found anything that moisturizes my skin better than this product. And I've been trying and looking for something like this for such a long time.
    Once I can use tretinoin again, I'm definitely going to use the moisturizing layer. I stopped using the product because of all the peeling. This may help, so its good advice.
    Thanks for the tips, as always! Really appreciate your channel!

    My dry, mature skin feels tight and thirsty using minerals sunscreens. Layering HA and Cream underneath hasn't proven to make an impact. I'm continuing to reapply mineral sunscreen as I think the benefits outweigh the downsides. And hoping to find a method in the future that reduces these side effects in my dry climate. But you do rinse your face with water in the morning, right? Or do you just go straight in with your sunscreen on your face without doing anything first?
    Just a little confused since you showed in the beginning of the video that you apply your sunscreen on a dry face, and if you rinsed with water first then I’d expect you to put the sunscreen on while the skin was still wet since you advise to do that, right?

    Hi Dr. Andrea! I had a doubt regarding application of tretinoin at night. So as you advised in your retinoid videos, I apply tretinoin 0.025 concentration to my cleansed, moisturised and dry skin at night. I use a gel based night cream as I have oily and acne prone skin. I actually layer a gel based night cream and then an additional layer of aloe vera gel. I apply the tretinoin after all this has dried and wanted to know if the absorption into the epidermis would be affected by the layered gel-based moisturisers?
    (I'm based in India, hence don't get the exact same products you usually recommend here, atleast not within my preferred price point)

    I have Systematic Scleroderma and wanted to know should I use completely only CeraVe. I currently use singularly CeraVe Facial Foaming Cleanser, however I have these terrible bumps and I was prescribed a medicine that you dab onto the affected areas (really only breaks out on my temples, forehead, eyebrows, upper lip, chin). I do believe it works, just takes time. The premises of the disease is that over time your skin hardens due to the fact you over produce collagen. The skin is also typically very, very dry. I am a rare youngin' that was diagnosed at age 12. I'm 13 now and really believe I should get more advanced with my facial skin care However, despite my entire body (including my scalp!) being extremely dry my face is extremely oily. I did originally use Loreal Acne Face Wash, can't remember the exact name but, it didn't work for me. My mother then asked me about CeraVe Facial Foaming Cleanser, mentioning I should try it sense it dried her dry skin out (she uses the Hydrating Cleanser now). I tried it and it worked WAY better and it's all I use. I did mention to my mother trying the CeraVe SA Facial Renewing Cleanser, but she didn't want to risk my face getting any tighter than it already is due to the disease. So, I wanted to ask what facial routine you could recommend? Love your videos!
