Thanks so much for this! Fixed my shower all by myself for a fiver. Also saved a lot of inconvenience.
Thanks! This saved us calling out a professional, we sorted out our shower within 2 minutes.
Just had to replace the PRD on my Triton REAMO9BRSTL Amore. It's the same part but a bit more fiddly as the PRD is round the back of the white spigot assembly.
thanks
I’ve got a similar issue but it is to do with the white plastic that the piece you removed sits on. Where it meets the motor section it is leaking from there. I have removed it to see if any damage and cannot see anything however there is a black rubber O ring in there. But I cannot find any replacement O rings
If you did not get your o ring yet ,try heating parts warehouse
What size screws are they?
Can this be done without switching the mains water off? Of course turn off the shower and fuse for the shower. I don't have ease of access to my water stop...
Thank you for your message, it is possible to do this without isolating the mains water as the water going through the T80 pro-fit would be stopped by the inlet solenoid valve assembly. However as per the installation instructions supplied with the pressure relief device we would always advise replacing the part with both the water and electrics isolated for safety. Kind Regards, Leon.
Did you need to replace the burst disc?
Hi, yes once the burst disc splits it would have to be replaced, when ordering the PRD (82800450), the burst disc is included along with some fitting instructions.
@@TritonShowers do you need to turn the mains water off to do this?
Why does this fail in the first place? Does it indicate a problem elsewhere?
The pressure relief device will activate when there is a restriction on the outlet, most commonly this will be something like a blocked shower head or kinked hose. This can also occur when the wrong accessories are being used with the product, like a non branded head/hose which are too restrictive.
I had just changed the shower head when mine burst. Wondered what the 'ell happened! Back pressure from the new head caused it.
@@TritonShowers My original one lasted 13 years so possibly just worn out? No kinks, I will ensure shower head is not causing any issues but Ive had it a few years. All fixed.
