God I love the 300WM. That round is so fast and flies so true and best of all it hits like a trailer truck. Great shot. True marksmanship. Anyone can shoot an animal somewhere. It takes true skill to hit one that clean and end it that quick. Heart shot at that yardage, wow.. Great shot.
To me, this is one of the best round ever created. Yes, there are many other fine calibers. I own many other fine calibers. This is a round that will flat-line out to 300 yards where a .308 would be lucky to make it 150 yards before dropping and even a .3006 will only get out to 200. Now, there is a really close contender. The 7mm WIn Mag. That is every bit the same performance, just hard to find that ammo where I am at.
Like he done got struck by lightning! I’ve killed three mule deer with my .300 Win Mag, and none of them took a step. Literally dropped in their tracks.
That ain't nothing!,here in Northern Michigan 300 pound hogs are everywhere!! They come out every Friday an Saturday night around 2 a m! A little corn in your pocket an they'll follow you rite home, ready to pork! No pun intended! 🤣🤣🤣,no rifle or bullets!! 😯
Just watched this video Hogman and that was a great takedown. I shoot an older Savage.300 win mag and I love it. Can’t wait to see what I can do with that round at a distance
The way you had those cameras setup was absolutely perfect!! You should do that exact setup again using a .50 cal BMG, you'll probably blow a hole right through it. That would make the perfect video.
I can attest to a 300lb hog being tough to kill. Last December it took 3 405gr soft points to the head from my .45-70 to convince him he was dead. Good shooting pig man, maybe next time I'll use my .300 win mag too.
Awesome shot and even better footage. Curious though, with a shot like that, how was it an instant kill like that? I've only ever seen something drop like that with a head shot. Pretty crazy.
He says he had the rifle on him even after he rolled over with another round in the chamber, he MOST certainly did NOT!!! But it is a really nice pig and a very good clean first shot. :)
In North Texas around the Red River that splits Oklahoma and Texas hogs come up from the river and tear up farmers crops. There s plenty of them around Dallas and east of Dallas and even around Houston. You dont have to go far to find them, and some are quite huge. The only rule is you must haul out what you shoot. Dead bone piles ruin farm equipment rather quickly. Great target practice! Icing down the meat for several days takes most of the wild taste out. Just be careful while you are butchering not to cut the spleen. That will ruin it too.
I like to see the target go stiff immediately like yours' did; that indicates a direct hit through the heart or major arteries. (Only an a..hole gets his rocks off watching the target shake and convulse for minutes before giving it up.)
Holy crap... the 200 grain eldx didn't even go all the way through. That is one tough animal.i shoot elk with them and tend to get full pen at that same range.
Shot one in California with a 250 Savage, 4 power Weaver scope and 100gr Winchester Silvertips. Honest 300lb boar, at 150yds. My dad bought me a model 99a Savage in1971 when I was 7yrs old. Wish Savage, winchester and Weaver would agree to pay me for all the critters I've killed with that rifle!
Probably the most humane kill I've ever seen on RUclips. Good work.

When I bought a .300 WM, reading the back of the ammo box, the manufacturer had loadings for Cape Buffalo, Rhino, even Elephant.
Great shot. I don't think anybody ever doubted the 300 win mag though lol. That'll kill any critter on planet earth.
There was no question that that pig died instantly. Excellent shot, excellent setup. The good stuff.

Holy crap... the 200 grain eldx didn't even go all the way through. That is one tough animal.i shoot elk with them and tend to get full pen at that same range.
Ever see a hog go after a snake? They're vicious! They love snakes
Those things can go through bears

So basically this was just an ad for hornady ammo...
Smoked pork! Another one bites the dust.

Big hog and a good kill. Were you running the 178's or the 200's with those eld-x?
