What a wonderful , sensitive, and moving performance, starting with the perfect tempo. The harpsichord is exceptional as well, with a remarkably full and sustained tone. Many thanks!
You and Donald are doing a great service by building harpsichords and playing a variety of music written for them. Many people will get to like the different composers. Also, this music was meant for the home before it went to the concert hall. Your music room is the perfect place for all this.....Richard
Beautifully played. I feel some variety in the tempo of the variations might be appropriate. Some of them are clearly more bravura than others. Maintaining the same stately tempo throughout makes it less dramatic. That aside, a very clean, enjoyable performance.
Thanks for listening and for your thoughtful comment. Next time around with this piece, I will give that a try. It is such a beautiful work and I loved playing it.
Today I listened to this wonderful piece again plus the one about the dompe. I am trying to describe music with repeating motives as a way to govern things to a friend who is not a musician but an artist. I may send the dompe piece to her. Anyway, always a pleasure to hear you playing so beautifully!
Thanks so much. This instrument was a Hubbard kit, made in the 80’s by my husband Donald. He’s actually built all of my harpsichords and a pipe organ!!! Thanks for your comment and for listening
@@drogers447 Yes. The Hubbard is a great instrument. My Jones Clayton is 52 years old. Almost an antique. I will be doing some restoration work on it pretty soon.
I’m sorry to hear about that. I am not eligible for the RUclips partner program yet, which would allow me to block ads on my content. I would need over 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours in a year. Thanks for trying to listen.😢
I love this song. I can just picture it being played in the 17th century and everyone is being courted in an open courtyard during the spring time

Beautiful! Thank you so much!
Thank you for listening
Thank you for playing that for me, Linda. I enjoyed that. It took me back, so to speak.
I’m so happy that you enjoyed it. It’s such a beautiful piece, usually played on organ
A perfect way to see off Saturday morning. Thanks.
Thank you. So glad you enjoyed it

Thanks so much. This particular piece, though, was written for organ! It’s such a beautiful piece and I love it on harpsichord too.

Gorgeous ! Sounds so italian.

I love your harpsichord sound, what is the brand of the instrument? who is the maker?

Pachelbel was oddly ahead of his time, when you listen to this. Get's a lot less love than he deserves, despite the Canon.
technically it's not Pachelbel but Jean-François Paillard who reorchestrated the canon and whose version became famous in the 1970's ):

Beautiful interpretation. What's the best way of placing a mic to record a harpsichord? I notice there's a wire under the keys
Thank you so much. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Believe it or not, we just use our i phones! The chord you see is for my light… lol
@@drogers447 It has such a great tone! Who made your harpsichord?
My French double is from a Hubbard kit made by my husband in the mid 80’s. He has made all of my harpsichords. Thanks for your kind comments
is this a Jones Clayton harpsichord? I have one and it looks like this one.
No . It’s a Hubbard Harpsichord built by my husband.

getting an ad in the middle of the music was supper weird and off putting ):
other than that the interpretation was good and enjoyable
