As an Irish follower I am so glad to see this! We definitely have a lot of uniquely Irish food brands here and it's so nice to see them showcased on your channel! :D
I was living in Latvia from the birth and now I’m in Ireland with my boyfriend and it’s amazing 😍 I’m already fall in love with this country I see many differences between this two countries and personally for me Ireland is better for 100%
I’m from America (Florida born, live in North Carolina) and Ive always known that I was Irish, my grandfather is full Irish! I have always felt a connection to Celtic paganism, mythology, folklore, culture, and traditions!! Im actually a Celtic pagan! I recently did an ancestry DNA test and found out I am 78% Celtic!!!! (Northwestern Europe- 33%, Ireland-18%, Scotland- 16%, and Welsh- 11%) Recently I bought tickets to Ireland for October and I’m so absolutely excited! I cannot wait! 💛💛💛 as I’m watching this video series I am writing down snacks and drinks, so when I’m in Ireland I can look for them and try them! I love this channel so much so thank you for these videos!! 💛💛💛
I'm a Canadian and I lived in Dublin, Ireland for a WONDERFUL year. I travelled the country and loved the people, food, breathtaking scenery, music, arts, absolutely everything. If you haven't travelled to Ireland, you've got to put Ireland on the top of your list.💞
Tayto once came out with a chocolate bar infused with cheese and onion crisp pieces. It was an acquired taste. They have loads more types of crisps than the three you were sent.
Our relish in america is also green, made from pickles(gerkins) there is dill which is sour, and also sweet pickle relish made out of bread and butter pickles. which are sweet.
I've been noticing that Kate does the same thing I do. When she hears a word/phrase that reminds her of a song, she just starts singing 🤣🤣 Relish in the Canada & the US is a pickled cucumber jam
Those preserves sound delicious, especially the black currant. My grandmother made fig preserves from her fig tree in the back yard and they were so good. Great memories. Have a good one.
So excited to watch this. I (unfortunately) am not of Irish descent, but I had dreamt of going to Ireland since I was a young girl. There was always a deep connection to that place, and in 2007, I got to go for the first time. I absolutely fell in love with it there and cried for a month when I returned to the states because it felt like I had found my true home. 7 years later (2014), my boyfriend surprised me with a trip back (I talked about Ireland a lot lol), and we had the time of our lives. He ended up loving it as much as I did...so, in 2019, after our wedding, we spent the first half of our honeymoon in Ireland 😂. We plan to move there one day in the future! It is truly my favorite place in the world and this box is making me miss it!
Monster munch is originally Irish but it was spicy flavour. And walkers bought it from tayto and now our spicy flavour is called mighty munch.there are smokey bacon salt and vinegar and there's other versions of snacks like snax with my toddler loves
I met my husband in the Edinburgh airport when I went on vacation to Scotland from California! He’s from Northern Ireland and I loved visiting Ireland and all the darling coastal towns, Bray, Cobh and Kinsale were some of my favorites! Beautiful country! 🥰
@@ThisWithThem it is a great love story! We will be married 20 years this coming January but I still only see that mopped headed boy from Belfast smiling at me at the baggage claim! 💗
3:10 People emigrated to America during the famine in 1845-1852, nearly two million people or about a quarter of our population left, that's why so many Americans have Irish ancestry, a good few people went to Australia aswell but not as many.
Originally from Newfoundland, Canada. My cousin and I have dated our family tree back to 1795 when our family came over from Ireland. We'd have to go there to find the rest of our family tree. We have Jacobs crackers in Newfoundland. Our accents are alot like the Irish accent as well
I live in Michigan but my father was born in Ireland and came to America at age 19. I have always been fascinated with English and Irish culture including the food. I want so badly to visit Ireland and connect with family that I have never met. Love your videos
I have always had a deep appreciation and love of the UK, because of my Grandfather was English and my grandmother was Irish so as a gift I was given the ancestry test to see how much I was of either nationality, came back stating that I am over 47% Irish and 14% English was told that if you are a certain percentage that you can put in paperwork to claim dual citizenship, if I was able to afford the cost to travel to the UK I would so love to do so..your channel is one of the many reasons that I truly enjoy your videos, as it gives me a glimpse into the UK culture and all it encompasses.
Oh wow. That is so amazing. I didn’t realise if you had a certain Percentage you could apply for dual citizenship. How cool!! I would love to do one of those ancestry tests! Ah love that. Thank you 🥰
Omg I can’t wait for all of these videos - I am Irish but haven’t been able to go home due to the pandemic. These are going to be so good - now time to watch 🥰
Yaaay so glad you’re excited for these videos. Sorry you haven’t been able to go home ♥️ hopefully not much longer now until you can! Enjoy watching 🥰🥰
@@FoodTastertv I currently live in Turkey but due to the restrictions on travel, quarantine etc it means that this will be the second summer I won’t be able to go home. Yes, Ireland will always be home even though I live abroad ❤️
I learned from a 23andMe DNA kit that I’m 77.4% British and Irish. It even tells what areas which is really cool! My ancestors came from mostly London, northwest England, Glasgow area, Dublin, and the western coastal areas of Ireland. 🍀
Having watched this, I went to a website selling Irish foods, I couldn’t wait to try the tomato relish and the marmalade, I had to buy other things too, and now I’m just waiting for them to arrive! All the food looked delicious, and you two really sold it to me 😀
Ive had my DNA done. I am 78% British from all over, mostly Cornwall and Devon, although can trace back to about 20 places there. My husband on the other hand is 84% Irish. Both of us long ancestry in America. (my dads side were all miners, and they do say the definition of a mine, is a hole with a cornish man at the bottom. ) cheers
Yes! My grandpa's parents came over to the America's from Ireland. We visited back in 2007 and my parents have gone back a few times to visit our O'Hara ancestors who own the O'Hara estates which they turned into a bed and breakfast 😀
A relish is a cooked and pickled product made of finely chopped vegetables (tomato or cucumber), fruits, pickle and/or herbs and is a food item typically used as a condiment to enhance a staple food. (it can be sweet or it can be savory)I make a pickled cucumber cabbage (red pepper cauliflower) relish every year, and not only do we eat it on the typical hamburgers and hotdogs, but I also put it in my tuna salad and mayo and potato salads, or to top a cracker and cheese. I also make a pickled sweet apple relish which is close to a chutney. I can't grow mangoes in Canada, so apples it is!
Firstly, I absolutely love love love your videos. They have got me through lockdowns 1,2,3 and the rest 100%! Just going in a food journey around the world. It’s been my safety blanket to escape on a night to help me sleep! Another thing, is that I don’t know if anyone has given this feedback. When you get huge boxes like this one, I personally would love 3 mixed videos with chocolate, snacks and sweets. So it’s more variety. Rather than one 30 min video of just one category. I understand it makes sense as it’s organised. But I just think the video would personally be more interesting and varied for myself. I mean this in a positive way not negative at all. I love you guys!!! Alex your dry humour kills me! And Kate your positive and bright personality literally can’t not fail to make someone smile! Xxx

I found out my great granda is from Bray before moving to Glasgow. I need to visit soon when circumstances allow. Another amazing video Alex and Kate. Once again, I've got the snacks out and ready to watch!
Hi Kate and Alex. Watching from Co.Kildare (county kildare) in Ireland. Just down from Dublin. I laughed everytime you said Keoghs crisps as I have never heard them pronounced the way you said it😂🤣. Also the relish needs to be tried on toast with butter, 2 slices of ham, 1 melted slice of cheese, preferably mature cheddar and spread the relish over the melted cheese yum. Also nice on crackers and cheese, actually like it on a jacket potato so hope you added some to your dinner, burger as Alex said. And theres a place in Bray called 'Box Burger' which does the best burgers in my opinion.
Have a few from Ireland. 1754 one of them came to America. Not sure what in Ireland for sure, but somebody in my family history was from Killarney. Need to do more research.
Those crisps made my mouth water 😍! I'm a plain Jane I love ready salted 🙈 unless I ever see sour cream and chive then they are my favourites! Watching this eating cinnamon swirls my mums baked 😍

27:50 You are wrong, Relish is comprised of pickles or other pickled vegetables, usually mixed with vinegar, salt, sugar, sometimes chili's for a kick.
Awesome video! Kate i really believed you when u said you liked that beer. Excellent acting lol. When it comes to alcohol drinks is, if i dont like something i cant fake the reaction. With alcohol Its involuntary This video was really interesting and funny too!
Relish here in the US definitely just tastes like chopped up pickles. (Not my thing.) I wish I could try this Irish relish! It looks so much more delicious.
@@ThisWithThem Right! There's a Japanese beer called Sapporo, it's a rice beer i think, I've tried it many times and I can actually enjoy it. it's still a bit bitter but not nearly as bitter as those grain based beers.

@@ThisWithThem Right! There's a Japanese beer called Sapporo, it's a rice beer i think, I've tried it many times and I can actually enjoy it. it's still a bit bitter but not nearly as bitter as those grain based beers.
Also, since I started watching you two, every time I see or say the word bitter, it's in Kate's BITTERRRR voice lol!
