Its not a fake. You need petrol and it works... petrol is also called gasoline in some countries

It depends on the quality of the glue originally used. Sometimes it pops up after 5 seconds, sometimes it's necessary to wait longer. Dell adapters took me 5 minutes and 2 applications to open. I imagine a cheap Chinese adapter will open itself and run away right after you open the petrol bottle.

First i tried with paint thinner and thought it was a fail but then i used petrol and voila it worked like a charm

I was very skeptical but figured I'd try this for giggles... Poured a little gas on it, waited for 5 seconds and the thing popped right open. I was prying at this thing for awhile trying to get it apart. Petrol/gas works!

I was going to try this idea, but then I went with hammering the case open. The trick was to use a soft plastic mallet that would not damage the surface. I put an old pillow on my lap with the wall wart transformer on the pillow. This is to absorb the impact, otherwise your hand will feel numb after holding the transformer while hitting it. Gently give it a wack with the mallet all around the top half of case close to seam. You may see the side pop open and close again. Keep hitting it all around the case on every side. Then the cover will suddenly pop open or need a slight pull to release. Couldn’t believe how fast and easy it was with no cleanup of liquid.

Thanks, man, I already tried it after watching your video but I used yellow color thinner(one kind of liquid gasoline) hope if you used watercolor thinner, you will also succeed.

What is inside your syringe? What is patrol adapter? I have cable problems with several adapters, cable broken just where it enters the adapter. If I manage to open the adapter without damaging it, I'll be able to fix that problem. Thanks already!
It's petrol (gasoline). He just misspelled it as pAtrol. Some use 97% alcohol or even nail polish remover. Not sure how effective they are compared to gas.

Worked OK for me with not too much damage. Just enough to prevent me from being able to super glue it back together so had to tape it with of course, duct tape.

For those that say it does not work then you either have not tried it or like anything you do in life you made a feeble attempt. Because it DEFINATELY works. You may have to do it a couple times or even take a utility knife to make an access for the gasoline to get into the space but, it works. Also wait 10 minutes after a few attempts with the gas and it will eventually dissolve the glue and open.
