Another slightly weird but glorious song from the Kinks. The song seems silly on the surface, but is really quite deep. The Kinks were so creative and versatile - never boring ❤
One of my favorite lyrics about a balanced relationship in in this song, "I'll keep you warm, if You'll keep me sane!" 🙃 That's a good deal between humans of either gender.
Greetings from Canada. Great group since 1963... still have 24 of their LPs. My fave from that album is "Powerman" (then Apeman, then Lola). Peace, love and bellbottoms.
@@LesSmith45 You have good taste. A friend's band, back in the 80s, used to encore with Superman. They had a really good following so that was the cue for stage invasion and sing with the singer. Went down a storm every time.
45, 293 thumbs up for this tune! Solely because the singer realizes EXACTLY what he is...just a human. And that is all. Thanks so much for your reaction, man!
The Kinks revisit that bridge section on "Come Dancing", but the riff gives me Chuck Berry/Little Richard vibes that I can't quite place. The live version of this is also fun with the whole audience singing along.
When I saw The Kinks in concert they were the opening act for Hall and Oates. Really?? Even back then, and still today, I think they had the concert lineup in reverse. Hall and Oates should have been opening for The Kinks. Kinks are trendsetters, part of the British invasion. Gotta love the kinks.
The Kinks' live version from 1979 of "Celluloid Heroes" is a beautiful piece of work and worth your time. But if you want to totally rock out, try their "Destroyer" from 1981: total banger.
I’m also a big fan of the Kinks and Ray Davies check out their 80s albums Give the People What they Want “Better Things” or “Around the Dial” “A little bit of Abuse” also album State of Confusion “Come Dancing”
Ray Davies said on a radio interview that he was surprised it got played on the radio because the stations thought it was fogging up my eyes but they actually sing f##king up my eyes.
This song drives me apeshit with liking it so much!! Been too long since I heard it, and never more apt a song to hear than these days! Thanks for the reminder to put it on a playlist or seven!
I don't descriminate when it comes to what food I eat. I'm an omnivore and eat various meats, dairy, fruits, vegetables and other plant foods. I almost forgot to mention pizza and hamburgers.
Love this song, love the Kinks! Thanks Bizmatic for playing this song and I look forward to your next Kinks song! I don't care which song you play, just play some Kinks!
I know everyone loves “Lola” & “You Really Got Me”, but this one is ultra entertaining & my favorite….it was used to great effect in the Robin Williams flick “Club Paradise” 🤩🤩🤩🤩
It's a hell.of an album this one Biz. There's a bunch more great deep cuts on there like "Denmark Street", "This Time Tomorrow", "A Long Way From Home" and "Get Back In Line". And The Kinks lasted all the way through to 1996, when they finally called it a day. They were putting out albums up to 1994. Check out "Shangri-La" from Arthur, which is the best song ever written about suburbia. Or maybe "Celluloid Heroes" from Everybody's In Showbiz.
The best early & historic British bands were the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, & the Kinks. I love this song lol. My brother and I had this album back in the 70's. A few other great songs...'Sunny Afternoon, 'Come Dancing', 'Destroyer' 'All Day and All of the Night' 'A Well Respected Man' just to name a few some early and some later on😄
When ever a vegetarian tells me that I should try a plant based diet I tell them that I'm already on one since cows, pigs and birds eat vegetables they are, in fact, plant based. It leaves them speechless.
Thanks Biz. The Kinks were maybe the best, certainly most thorough, on social commentary. Try Low Budget or Gallon of Gas, and Superman gives a similar message to Apeman 👍
I like how you caught the island vibe in this. There's a version in the movie "Club Paradise" w/Robin Williams that really goes there. ruclips.net/video/qb5gJCEF4Cc/видео.html . Now have you reacted to "Days" and "Waterloo Sunset", among so many possible? Cheers
One of my favourite songs by the Kinks
I’ve loved this song since I first heard it long ago. I love lyrics that make me think.
Another slightly weird but glorious song from the Kinks. The song seems silly on the surface, but is really quite deep. The Kinks were so creative and versatile - never boring ❤
"Wish I Could Fly Like Superman" is another by the Kinks that you'll love.
Underrated Kinks album for sure!!
Yup, another unforgettable gem!
I seen that concert in 1980! The Low Budget tour! That whole album is outstanding!
There’s a live version of Superman out there that is fire, even though the video quality isn’t great. Kinks were so GREAT live.
One of my favorite lyrics about a balanced relationship in in this song, "I'll keep you warm, if You'll keep me sane!" 🙃 That's a good deal between humans of either gender.

Me too, 69 in Atlanta.
Celluloid Heros -> Kinks Gold! 🤙
^ 2nd this!!
Low budget, and sunny afternoon are two other great kinks songs.
Great song. You must do two, rarely mentioned tracks; Superman and RocknRoll Fantasy.
CAN I GET AN AMEN FOR EITHER, PLEASE? Or, you know, a like.
Both great songs, sunny afternoon is another great one.
Kinks have so many great songs.
"AMEN!!" for BOTH!
@@joescott8877 Thank you! Here's hoping.
Two of my favorite songs by the Kinks! My favorite British Invasion band!
@@LesSmith45 You have good taste. A friend's band, back in the 80s, used to encore with Superman. They had a really good following so that was the cue for stage invasion and sing with the singer. Went down a storm every time.
Love the Kinks!
Nothing like them and all the other groups that I grew up with in the greatest era of music!❤
Every time I hear this song I think of the movie, Club Paradise (Robin Williams, Peter O'Toole, Jimmy Cliff, and Twiggy).
45, 293 thumbs up for this tune! Solely because the singer realizes EXACTLY what he is...just a human. And that is all. Thanks so much for your reaction, man!
Great fun tune. Love the lyrics.
Always loved this song.
Cool song. Check out Celluloid Heroes & Superman from their One for the Road album

I haven't listened to this one for many years, thanks Biz and your suggester/s for bringing it back.
It’s a really fun song I love it, thanks Biz.
This is my favorite Kinks song. Thanks so much for reacting to it. You made my day.
All day and all of the night. ✌️
“Complicated Life “ and “Acute Schizophrenia Blues” from Muswell Hillbillies are similar in their message of the complexity of modern living.
That was a fun one.
The Kinks' live version from 1979 of "Celluloid Heroes" is a beautiful piece of work and worth your time. But if you want to totally rock out, try their "Destroyer" from 1981: total banger.
Also one of my favorite Kinks tracks. They recorded this song over 50 years ago, but the lyrics are still appropriate today.
Celluloid Heroes is a classic tune by The Kinks.
Preservation Hall Jazz Band - cover of the Kinks - Complicated Life. Great video.
I’m also a big fan of the Kinks and Ray Davies check out their 80s albums Give the People What they Want “Better Things” or “Around the Dial” “A little bit of Abuse” also album State of Confusion “Come Dancing”
This Time Tomorrow is another great song by The Kinks..
Such an underrated band. Even their later albums from the 80s are good.

Check out their album Low Budget. Some good tunes
❤❤❤❤
……love when the piano kicks in ❤
This record is full of great songs.
The Kinks, hugely underestimated band.
Ray Davies is a musical genius!
All the way to '76? Someone should tell them. I saw them in the '90s😮
Damn it!!! Now you have to do Ray Stevens "Guitarzan"
I forgot about this song. Thanks for the reaction!
Lol... this was the title track to the Robin Williams classic movie Club Paradise... thanks for the memories... Great reaction. 😊
Wore out my sister's first KINKS album. RAY DAVIES..and PAUL MCCARTNEY are WRITERS DELUXE!
Two of my other favorites from them Father Christmas, and There’s no England anymore. Thanks ✌🏼
Great song its one of my favorit kinks track❤

You are a joy each and every reaction! Now for fun try Neanderthal Man by Hot Legs.
Someone once said to me 'If we are not supposed to eat animals then why are they made of meat' 😮
No {low budget }songs on the kinks album. Great band
Do SUNNY AFTERNOON!
Do DESTROYER!
Thanks Biz. The Kinks were maybe the best, certainly most thorough, on social commentary. Try Low Budget or Gallon of Gas, and Superman gives a similar message to Apeman 👍
Celluloid Hero’s!!!
Ray Davies was one of the first heavy metal guitar players. Not sure if he realized that.
Catch Me Now I'm Falling, Live Life and Celluloid Hero's (Live) are all worthy... 😎
here
The concrete jungle indeed!
Autumn Almanac and Dead-end Street
Fucking great.
So them in 75? Best show ever
Great reaction. More kinks. Anything from their “Something Else” album thanks
Try life on the road if you like Lola you'll like this one. Thanks Biz.
Play celluloid heros
Celluloid Heroes
" Victoria"
Around til 1993.
You should really dive into the kinks muswell hillbillies album. Hope I spelled that right
