- The Italian Troops are taking part in Steadfast Defender 2021, NATO’s largest exercise that year.
The Italian Troops some of which are special forces use the Italian made Dardo infantry fighting vehicles during tank maneuvers. The footage includes Dardo tanks loading and unloading troops and maneuvering at speed across fields. The Italian troops are joined by Turkish Army Troops who have brought along their BMC Vuran Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles.

Why do they have chicken feathers in their helmets?
They are Bersaglieri its apart of their traditions. They were traditionally light infantry and marksman. The feathers kept the sun out of their eyes.

La Marmora in conceiving the uniform of the bersaglieri wanted the hat to have feathers so that it would plastically represent ardor and impetus, readiness in momentum and endurance in running.
