I was lucky enough to be living in Florida right when MA and the other bands were on their rise. I got to see a lot of great bands between Orlando, Tampa/St. Pete, and Gainesville. Obituary, Death, Cynic, Atheist, Deicide, Nocturnus, and Monstrosity I got to see numerous times during the 'Golden Age' of death metal. Can't believe it's been so long now. We're all a bunch of granddads now!

The gigs are completely non existent here. Exhorder Iternal bleeding, napalm death, mayhem so many gigs cancelled or pushed back in the never ending rescheduled black hole. I’ve tickets to Ian brown(stone roses) it’s been put back 3times he be dead before it go’s ahead . gateways is definitely in the top two for sure.. that and domination.. Dawn of the angry is one of the best death metal songs ever wrote hands down.. you're talking back in the mid 90s man.. that song is brutal as fuck.. that beginning riff is just too sick.. and it's a toss up for me on who is the better front man.. Steve or David.. Steve's a better musician and Dave's vocals sound heavier and more deep gutteral sickness than Steve's vocs.. but I like Steve way better as a person.. he's not a dick like Dave lol.. but over all, morbid angel is and will always be one of the founding fathers of death metal on the planet.. period.. they paved the way for alot of bands and musicians.. I love everything they do.. and I love every album.. but gateways and domination are definitely the top two in my book.. imo..

Blessed Are the Sick is ridiculously thick with an essence you can't find today. It is unique even within the Morbid Angel catalog. I thought the first record was pretty good and Covenant has some massive classics, but Blessed reaches this pure and potent space. Didn't really dig the fourth record that much. I mean Dominate was a pretty good jam and a few others, but honestly I feel that in all that Morbid's greatest record is Formulas Fatal to the Flesh. It just cooks and burns and is transcendent. I keep hoping Trey finds that strange existential hope again ever since that record. I dug Tucker's vocals a lot too. I appreciated the efforts to reunite with David but his artistic style by that point was almost too over the top. Kingdon's at least puts them back on the right path.

Never did understand this bands fame, still don't, Alters Of Madness is kinda good, but is there something I missed?! .. Deicide were much better, even Sinister from Netherlands.

trey is much more creative as a musician and all that he composed was absolutley new (even altars with its fantastic instrumental). also he is one of the most skilled guitarists of all time
morbid angel s songs are elaborate, they have new ideas, heavy riffs, in each song there is a new idea
morbid angel is metal and art in one thing
deicide never did something new, and their songs are way easier to understand

I will never go to another morbid angel show ever again. Apparently they have a new singer (didnt know) & the band refused t o m play ANY songs from any albums that dsvid vincent preformed on. Thats gonna make for a shitty set list guys. So you're only playing new shit now huh? Boooo! p.s. pete sandoval is one of the rudest assholes i've ever had the displeasure of meeting.

Himanshu Himanshu fair enough. I think everyone is entitled to their opinion & wouldn't hate anyone for that. The world would be a disaster if we all liked the same kinds of music. You & I probably have a lot of similar music interests. EVER heard of Illdisposed? Brutal Danish death metal give em a listen. Cheers
