@@HometownAcresthe drone footage was major coolness!! Pond 2 and 3 were happy accidents! You knew you were digging borrow pits. Not ponds. Happy for you!
The saga of Lake Adam's has finally concluded !!! I would never have imagined that excavating a pond and watching it fill with water could be such a dramatic story. Congratulations !!! It's going to be hard to top this one. 😜Thanks for the video !!!
Congratulations Adam!!! An excellent life lesson for us all how perseverance pays off. I must give you credit for sticking with it all these years. You're multiple repair attempts and expanding to the new ponds is really a testimonial to your character. I'm thinking how you can share this series with your children in the future, so they see how hard work pays off and the benefits to not giving up. Great job as I have followed your channel since the beginning when you bought the property and blamed Mike Morgan for costing you $350k lol! Best thing that could have happened - now look at your place and how it has grown. Keep up the great work!
Seeing your dream turn in to reality. Outstanding effort Adam. You’ve poured your heart and soul into this project and you have to be thrilled. Thanks for taking us on your journey!
Would you be willing to do an experiment? Don't add any more pond dye for a while, let it clear up to a natural water color. Just to see what it looks like?
There are several companies that sell fish friendly pond flocculant or clarifier, which coagulates the turbidity (sediment and other suspended particles in the water) and causes it to settle to bottom this clarifying the water. That might be an option. I believe he likes the way the dye looks, so probably will not be interested.
Congratulations on the pond!! You've worked tirelessly to give your family a great place for recreation on your property!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Adam, congratulations!!! Such an impressive, fulfilling and wholesome project finally come to completion. Congrats just isn't enough. I hope you an the family get some great joy out of it this summer and for years to come!
As painful as the pond has been. It’s drawn a lot of people into a great RUclips channel. Congrats on it finally being full. Excited for the next pond upgrade projects. What’s in the pipeline? Fix up the sand beach area? Dock?
You did it! You outlasted the number of obstacles that were a plague to your dream goal. As you already noted, you might still have leakage but if so, that water movement through the soil has a remedy in getting cycled back up to pond #1. The exciting part(s) now will be watching maintenance and new additions. Enjoy your ice rink.
Yes Adam 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 so good to see it full. Please keep the update coming defo interesting to see. Hope it's not leaking but now it's got good volume it will put pressure on the bottom and clay liner so will seal it's self easier 🤞🤞
Congratulations on sticking with it for this long. I know it has come at a cost both financially and emotionally. What is nice is that it has really turned out better than originally planned with now having 3 ponds. What a change in the weather. I am probably an hour south of you and we are lucky to have 4 inches of snow right now. You are just far enough north you get hit harder.
Adam thank you for giving us the viewer(and yourself) some closure on this pond. i was hoping to see it done eventually and im so happy you are at full pool with the beautiful ponds. we are havin a little bourbon sipper in honor of the filling of the pond!!
After digging pond #2 it sure looks like you should have started there. It’s a better setting for your pond especially compared to how out of place pond #1 looks. You should stop coloring the water too. Congrats on getting pond #1 full and leak free. 👍👍👍
Pond looks good! Been following for a few years now, and it's been exciting to see the changes. I also noticed a new SUV in the garage! It looks more roomy than the old one! What a beautiful property you have! It looks like something out of a painting!
Congratulations Adam! I know how big a deal this is for you. I expect to see some hockey being played when it ices over. My pond has been iced over pretty much since the first of December. Not enough to get out on for the most part. I haven't been out to it since before Christmas so it should be a good sheet of ice now. Take care, have a great week and God Bless you all!!!🙏❤😊
Great to see the pond full Adam. I've enjoyed watching from the beginning. During my summers in college I worked on Interstate road construction and learned a lot about moving dirt and compacting it. Your first dam build made me shudder because of the lack of good compaction between lifts. After two more attempts I think you have it right now! Can't wait to see the hockey rink.
@Hometowneacres you should build a hoist system in the garage that can lift/ lower, then shelf/ store that battery system! Then you wouldn't have to move them so much for alternate uses around the property. Then you could put them on a skid to lift into your truck with the tractor
@13:00 you are talking about "Virgin" ground vs compacted ground, and while technically correct (partially) you still need a mat of rip-rap through the channel until it gets behind and below the dam. Water may not do *as much* damage to "virgin" ground, but it will still wear it away quickly if there is runoff rolling through that spillway.
One think to remember is that a large pond can get by with a smaller outlet pipe because it takes so much more water to raise the level. A small pond would fill much quicker and would require a larger pipe.
ADAM, now, all you gotta do is, put a microphone and sound system at the overflow pipe, start a fire at the porch pit, grill some steaks, have an enjoyable dinner outside listening to the water fall and crackling fire! Enjoying the fruits of your labor ! ( With a winter coat on😊!) Good stuff!
Congratulations on the pond, it has been a long struggle but the final results will be well worth the effort. I’m you and your family will have many years of enjoyment from it. Good job well done 👍
You could probably wire in a sensor in the big pond at the overflow, where if the water level is below the top of ths stand pipe, it allows the solar to pump water from the bottom pond. When it gets full, it turns off the pump. That way it would just top off the big pond whenever there is solar power available and not waste water either. That should be fairly simple from a controls perspective with a couple relays.
I would consider the pond full when it is about two inches from full. I would want a small buffer in case I got a large rain or snow melt. In my opinion an overflow should not be used, but I understand the desire to see it completely full after all that time.
I am so thrilled to see this pond full after all the time and effort you invested!! Soon, you and your people will be ice skating, playing hockey and curling. 🧊🏒⛸🍙
Congratulations Adam, your determination and dedication has paid off. Hopefully now the ponds will freeze over for some winter fun, skating and hockey. I was thinking if you picked up a small Harbour Freight trailer you could mount the batteries in the trailer and pull the trailer up to the solar and leave it there freeing up the truck for other use. Truly Postcard Picture Perfect. 😀👍👍👍
Congratulations, Adam. You deserve a win! Great-looking pond and a great professional video/music time-lapse. Well put together; you're doing excellent. Thank you for sharing and keep up the good work!
GOOOOOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!!….WHOO HOO ADAM!!!! You’ve finally did it!! Hoping it holds & doesn’t leach out. Great content & editing Nice job!! Have a day 😊
Congratulations!! 🎉 i know it HAS to feel good to see that thing full! I bet it looks amazing looking from inside your house and looking down towards the pond. What a great new years present to you and your family
Beautiful!!..you've really done a great job...very impressive. You really have developed a beautiful homestead. Congratulations and keep up the good work!
Now that the pond is full would be interesting to measure the amount of water going into and out of the pond to see how much water is leaking. Being that's it's cold out there will be very little lost to evaporation. Might be interesting.
That's exciting that you have been able to hit that goal. I think the curling video may have been the first one that i watched. Its been fun to follow your difficult journey.
Thank you pond number two!! Congratulations on the hard work to get pond one full! You should consider another generator when the grid goes down. Solar batteries and panels are only part time power.

The drone footage close to the surface of the pond was awesome. Especially the treeline reflection. Another enjoyable video.
Absolutely loved the contrast of the snow to the blue water in the pond. Very satisfying video seeing the water draining down the stand pipe.
