"A New York district attorney was caught speeding and subsequently failed to stop for authorities before having a heated interaction with the officer who attempted to pull her over.
Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley returned home on April 22 following the attempted traffic stop in Webster, N.Y., and then repeatedly refused to comply with the officer’s commands when he arrived at her house, bodycam footage of the exchange showed."

A regular citizen would of been tased, cuffed & stuffed.... And history has shown us a POC probably wouldn't of survived the stop.
I am a 64 year old Caucasian female. I've worked for an attorney for 10 years and as an executive assistant to a senior warden.
This wench is totally acting entitled. She, out of anyone, knows the laws.
I feel so sorry for that poor LEO. He was being so PATIENT and POLITE. Bless his heart.
And you know any one of us, you and me, would be arrested with LEOs guns drawn.

Isn’t it a felony to evade the police? Why did she only get a speeding ticket? Even with all this going on she still has special treatment. I’m sorry but she needs to be fired. She sure didn’t give her excuses of stress of bad day during the actual stop.
The officer’s behavior/demeanor in this is STELLAR! He should be honored for his calm demeanor in the face of such degrading verbiage and obnoxiously cruel behavior from the DA! DA should have been fired immediately!
And she should be disbarred. Her community needs to go after her. That is clear abuse of power.
Anyone else that refuses to stop and tries to elude is arrested. She should have been arrested when they found her in her garage.

That half assed apology is a joke. She would’ve never apologized had the bodycam footage not been released. Also, the cop should have been more assertive and arrested her like he would any normal citizen.
A forced apology is no apology at all. She could have apologized several times during interaction with officer but chose not to. And then doubled down pulling out her badge and calling the police chief. She still not sorry before, during or after incident. She just sorry the exchange is captured on body cam. C’mom ya’ll, let’s keep it real. If it weren’t for that video, this entitled Karen would still be making calls behind closed doors to have that officer fired.
Can you tell this man to leave me alone? Imagine you or me doing this during a traffic stop for speeding. There would be 5 or 6 police officers on top of you or me handcuffing us taking us off to jail. TOTALLY unacceptable.
Vote her OUT. Save the date! Obstructing, resisting, and rude as hell. She thinks that should give her a pass. She is not qualified to pass judgment over anyone else. Save the date and vote this woman out of office when the time comes.
My opinion is Sandra Dooley should be responsible for getting the cop a glass of water from now on. She has proven herself to be on the same level as a common criminal. So let her be subject to the same expectations as your average watergirl.
Step down, Sandra. You have no future in the legal profession, except as maybe an assistant who needs to be closely watched and not given too much power.

In some states if you're over the posted speed limit by 15 mph, they actually confiscate your license right there and put you under arrest.
Nobody is above the law period. DA should be ashamed of herself. I get that she is only human as well but she should have displayed humility and accept responsibility for her actions.

Depends on the area. Some areas are marked at low speeds that are unreasonable for that particular area and police generally don’t enforce it.
She should get fired because anyone else would have ended up dead.

When she failed to yield, she was on the phone with the police department trying to get out of the ticket before she ever got it, so she most certainly heard the sirens.
Doorley said in her apology that the stress of her job caused her to break the law. That PROVES she's unfit for the job. Governor Hochul should fire her. And someone more fit for the job should take her place.
This woman is too entitled. She needs to be charged for speeding - fleeing and abuse of power.

Like Wosney said, All this lady had to do was pull over and the cop probably would have let her go without a ticket since she is a district attorney. Even if she got a ticket and went to court, the prosecutor probably would have dismissed the ticket entirely or in worst case scenario offered a plea to a parking to ticket. This woman does not have the judgment or character necessary for the office of district attorney. She should resign.
Compare this incident to the Elijah McClain incident. He got killed by the police for being "suspicious," whereas Karen here broke the law, evaded police, berated the police and the police just took it like a bitch. 😅

@@Kavafy No it's not. Statistical evidence suggest that statutory speed limits make no real difference. People tend to drive at the speed they feel comfortable with their level of experience and type of vehicle.
The MV code exists primarily to assign liability in an accident, not to prevent them. Speed limits are almost entirely there to provide revenue AND give a pretext to stop cars and "go fishing" for some sort of crime.

She would certainly have been immediately arrested. How can the DA's office maintain any credibility as long as she is the DA? If she has any honor, she will resign. If she fails to do so, she should be investigated and removed. Her law license should also be revoked. But . . . we all know that she will face no real consequences.

Speed Limits might be wrong, but if the Rules are clear and the Signs are clear, they are to be followed. A Car is a Machine that can kill, even though the Driver does not intend to. As said the Limits might look wrong, but maybe they are not, who knows. The Chaos that ensues if everybody decides by him/herselves is more dangerous than the Time lost on low Speed.
