Galdera's change is badass--honestly fitting for who's basically the Lucifer of Octopath lore.
It makes sense. In Octopath 1, Galdera was the closest thing the game had to a true final boss, but instead had all the makings of a superboss which made them very unappealing to all but the most dedicated players, meaning while each individual traveler's stories could be seen by standard players, the climax tying everything together would be lost on anyone who doesn't have the most optimal setups on all the characters. Here, Vide fills the true final boss role closing out the story and tying up all the loose ends while Galdera returns, this time fully committing to the superboss role so players who just want to catch the major story beats aren't missing out and do not have to dissect the game's mechanics completely to get them.
@@GameAW1 Yeah, in Octopath 1 Galdera was both a "true final boss" and an optional superboss--bit of strange game design there, really. I guess I just wasn't expecting Team Asano to straighten out that oddity, lol Also, Octopath 2's endgame is much better-designed. It does a far better job of bringing the eight travelers together--connecting them in a way Octopath 1 didn't. It's also a better approach thanks to the crossed-paths quests you had to do to unlock the final chapter. I also noticed that each of the traveler pairings from the crossed paths have a specific villain tied into their part of the story. I started with Hikari, so I got his "main" villain, but it seems like that villain changes depending on who you start the game as. If that's actually the case, then it also blends a bit of Seiken Densetsu 3's plot progression, which is neat. @casadoalfredo it is not Octopath 1 rsterra is taken place in year 1618. We didn't get the years confirmed for Octopath 2 yet but we can assume from Partitidios story that steam locomotive train is first invented & and they are saying it's start of industrial revolution so we can guess it's near 1802(it was first time when steam locomotive train was first invented in England) which is almost 190yrs after octopath 1's timeline.
@@kingalex_3334 it is not cause Japanese official creators confirmed Octopath 1 was taken place at year 1618. And COTC(Octopath traveler champions of continent is taken place 1615-1617) Solstia is at least on late 1790s industrial revolution didn't occur till late 1700s if I remember correctly
@@harumachibito105 Octopath Traveler is a fictional World. What you're sayinf makes no sense at all. They don't live on Earth lol
