Absolutely classic. It's a crime that so few people in the western world give Nobuo Uematsu and the other great video game composers any real recognition. Japan treats them like the legends that they are.

Listening again all these years later, it's easy to see that the inspiration for this must have come from Angelo Badalamenti. Sounds a lot like his work on Twin Peaks.
This song needs to be in the title sequence of every final fantasy game. It just captures the spirit of perseverance that the heroes have in each game, the struggle of good vs evil.
Listening to this makes me so happy to be part of this generation of gamers. These were the days when gaming was unscathed by DLC, multiplayer and "Same BS, different game" feels to it. Genuine and historical games were made during this generation, and the new generations seem to be losing grasp of that more and more(with exception of a few who DO stand out). I just wish i could wipe my memories and live it all again (sniff sniff)...Im not crying! >:(
Z4nnibal Unique means being the only one of its kind or unlike anything else. There are indeed some, but not many. In the 90's, Star Fox 64 was the first game to have voice acting AND rumble controls. Sega developed Sonic and Knuckles with a cartridge that could allow the previous games to be plugged in. The Playstation achieved magnificent graphics for the time it was in (props for Nintedo 64 as well), also featuring an LCD flip screen attached to it. Ape Escape (made in 1999) was the first game where dual analogue sticks were mandatory for playing the game. Im not denying that there are great games from this past decade, but gaming has not evolved as much as it did in the 90's. There are still many fun games, just not as many "Unique" games.
Lucky you were born in this generation I was born at the very end before 2000 so I get these new games granite there are good games like the early 2000 zelda games and Tales of Vesperia (2006) but I love the older ones but its really hard to get ahold of the originals that aren't remastered or a screwed up remake I'm probably one of the only people that I know that enjoys old games like this and doesn't like shooters and all this online multiplayer (I much prefer local multiplayer) that takes away from the core gameplay and that is the end of my rant thing (note I've only played Final Fantasy XIII so none of the good ones like VII or X)
I actually imported this and when it came, popping it into the PSX, doing the trick to play it on US systems, and hearing the theme start like this.....it was probably one of the most magical gaming moments ever. There is no way to even describe it. I will remember it forever.
E3 2015 is already an historical moment in gaming. Sony pulled out the holy trinity, with TLG, FFVII and Shenmue 3. Bethesda showed Fallout 4. And Square showed us KH3 Gameplay and a new NieR.
I love this piece so much. I appreciate your efforts at remastering. Just a small note that the harmonies are often overwhelming the main melody so it gets lost in the mix. Other than that, really enjoyed it.
I've been binging FFXV, and I've been listening to this for half of the game so far. The other half is balamb gardens (FFVIII) if you haven't heard that, I suggest you check it out.

I saw this song played on warframe and the fact I have to pay atleast £40 or more or not able to get the thing that it was played on but has other things too but I only really wanted that thing it was played on

I'm actually the other way round, FFVII is the only one in the series I like. I really liked the general sound of the soundtrack, it's very nostalgic to me.

(it's called Conversion)

Its kinda hard to remember due to the only thing I remember is hours of constant grinding at Sunken Ship Galenka farming sources that I honestly forgot...The only other place I know that has crystals is Lucrecia's Cave I think...
You've got a point there, but remember that in 1997 we already had arranged soundtracks for RPGs such as Arc the Lad, Suikoden, Vandal Hearts, Wild Arms and a lot of other games. IMHO I like FFVI's OST better. FFVII is the only game I dislike from the series in all its aspects.

Somehow doubt that. Final Fantasy's Prelude was composed in 1987, whilst Twin Peaks began in 1990.

Z4nnibal Bioshock series always gave me something to think about (especially Infinite) More games that are thought through, not just slapped together.
