      Birmingham always seems an OK plac when I have visited, lozels back in the 90s was a bit hectic but I've always found brummies good decent people, they always think I'm some kind of gentleman, or posh guy from my accent as I'm from the south west (Devon)

      @@recall2880 alright pal, yeh it's pretty relaxed down here, you have the 16 year old acting like they are from a drill video but they are not really dangerous, the older generation can come across very hillbilly and diversity is not in their vocabulary but there is alot of good people here too, there's a good club scene around the Plymouth area (South Devon) , jobs seem to be pretty plentiful up here in my area (North Devon) I'm more of a del boy myself, I hustle my way through life whilst avoiding the 9-5 stress and I do OK, get by like that and so do alot of others. Where I live is coastal, I look out my window and can see the beach and the sea but I take it for granted, my mate in cannock thinks I'm crazy for not being down the beach everyday, I've lived back here in westward Ho! For over a year and not been once! I like fishing but carp fishing, all fishing is good here tho if that's your thing. Lots of decent food places but again not very diverse, I can't get West Indian food here, no African foods at all, plenty of fish and chips, they are decent, the Chinese, Thai,Turkish Indian and Pakistani food places are no match for Birmingham, everytime I eat in Brum I think that it's much better. Overall, the thing I would say is life is slow, nothing is rushed, I dunno if that's the fresh air or the high grade of our weed but life is deffo on the go slow!! Hope that helps answer your question!

    Just to let you know -if you happen to live in that area - that I emailed Handsworth councillor Hendrina Quinnen about the poor state of the streets (this video as a receipt). I asked why the place look like that and why no one has done a good Spring clean in that area? She replied to me that she doesn't cover that area anymore and that I need to direct my concerns to the new councillor. So I emailed her again asking for the contact details of that "new councillor" but she never replied...
    The City Council doesn't care! "Peasants pay your Council tax and sh•t the F up!" basically that's the message. Someone in the comment section said that if she lived there she wouldn't be pay her council tax. My response to that is: If you live there, stop paying your Council Tax because you are clearly not getting any return on investment. The councillors there are paying to do jacksh•t! Are they even living there?

      Could try waasim zaffar, lozells area councillor. Labour member of the council for more than 10 yrs. Henrina Quinnen is another serial labour política, since 2009 actually. Given the state the area she was in charge of is, why is she still there? IT is not good for democracy but Labour are unfit for government these days. They are so out of touch with the needs and demands of ordinary people, like living in a clean, neat, tidy neighbourhood.

    • @abuismail9983
      @abuismail9983 3 года назад +12

      The problem is that Birmingham City Council does not care. They will send you warnings if you don't pay council tax and threat you with legal actions if you don't pay. Most of people then get scared and will pay it nevertheless. As long as not a whole area with ten thousands of people refuses to pay it, nothing will change. The council can just provide rubbish service and does not need to fear consequences. This is how it is unfortunately. And people nowadays do not have the courage anymore to stand up for what is good and to go against what is bad. Especially in UK, US and France you can see that clearly. People do not care anymore... So it becomes socially acceptable.
      The state of this area is a mixture of a lot of different problems. Neglect from council, lack of investment, government cuts, the people living there, too much uncontrolled immigration, careless society in general, lack of integration, poverty and much more... The result you can see in the video.

Others don’t even have pedestrian traffic lights. The Council gladly take our taxes and laughs all the way to the bank. I know Bham City Council is watching my videos. Anytime I film a dirty area and throw it onto RUclips, it gets cleaned up within a week (Moseley Rd, Bradford St)...so I just need to show more areas in Birmingham.

      @@davidelyas2128 you have based your rather myopic response purely on an assumption of my interpretation of the word “great”. Most nations have a history or murder, rape and pillage, in India (where I have travelled extensively) murder and gang rape is sill a fairly common occurrence. So, perhaps in order to clarify my point, when I was referring to our “great” nation, I was actually referring to its social, cultural and economical status, which in recent years seems to have been on the decline - my comment is not one related to racism or xenophobia but purely an observation regarding the apparent decline of a country that once seemed to have its act together. I now live in Asia, China to be precise, and in my opinion, from personal experience the UK can learn a lot from the order and discipline of some Asian countries.

    I really want to move here, miss the "ghetto"...brought up in areas like this, it never leaves your heart...shottas on the corner, trash dumped, and awesome culture everywhere, it's a rollercoaster for the senses...and after living in these kinds of areas all over the UK, I've found there is a LOT less racism in these parts, everyone gotta get along so it's usually pretty welcoming...spoke to so many people, met a guy who was an immigrant who nearly died being smuggled in, I have 4 Korans all gifted to me by various cultures, some lady in a shop made me fried plantains, I've cooked and had partys with people of different cultures all being happy together....it's beautiful and insightful.... community, it's all about community
