    Don't worry, a violin is identical to a fiddle, they might just be called by different names in different contexts.
    And the reaction against their protest against Bush and the Iraq war was completely out of proportions. Saddam was a dictator, but I think most people nowadays, even most Americans, can see today that all the talk of weapons of mass destruction was just a lie. The Iraq war was even one of the reasons that Daesh could become so strong. Blind, unthinking patriotism at it's worst.

    Natalie Maines has some serious talent and a whole lot of Texas pedigree. He dads band, The Maines Bros ruled west Texas and Amarillo when I was in college. We followed them everywhere. Saw Natalie coming along. That girl can sing and put on a show. She is no rookie. They were the “it” band for a decade. Until they were chastised by another country star and it ruined their careers and their lives. He never meant to divide. He didn’t think that far ahead. But it changed many li Ed and I believe began the “them versus us” mentality that we cannot escape.

    Great video, Some classic west coast rap songs are by warren g. You should react to some of his songs. If you are going to react to his songs these are good ones to start off with. -Do You See -This D.J -Regulate Ft Nate Dogg. For some backround he was good friends with nate dogg and snoop dogg. They also had a group with the all 3 of them called 213. You might have heard these songs as they are extremly popular. Also use the explict version as they censor alot of words in the clean versions such as "Gun" "Cold" And a bunch of other words. He was also good friends with dre, He was actually step brothers with dre.

    The backlash came from mostly The Industry not fans. I have a lot of friends & kin from the middle of Missisipi, through the center of Arkansas to Memphis & into the Ozark foothills. I've never heard of an actual person who said worse of them than maybe a foreign stage during a performance wasn't the best place for speachifying. (my Mamaw Millie's words).
    They dropped "Dixie"
    because they knuckled under to the powers that be.

  • @philipclifford2314
    @philipclifford2314 2 года назад

    I remember when the Dixie Chicks dominated the charts. A backlash against them due to their (prescient) disgust with Pres. W Bush's 2nd Gulf War led to the excision of all liberal or feminist ideas from any song the Country Music Industry was willing to accept or promote. I believe this triggered an inexorable shift towards Bro Country and the abandonment of the Country genre by liberal creatives. Mirrors the widening political divisions in the USA during this time. ☹️

    oh, you HAVE to watch Goodbye Earl! SUCH a fun song, but you have to see the video, and not live. The reason is because the video and the song are so closely tied, the video tells the stories, and has world class actors playing the parts. You won't regret it, but you won't understand the song live. I've watched an interview they gave talking about it, and they said themselves that they don't recommend people listening to the song without having first seen the video.

    Fiddle/Violin is the same instrument, and either would be correct. Those trying to specify that it needs to be called a fiddle are just being pedantic...

    • @JohnCWannamaker
      @JohnCWannamaker 2 года назад +2

      Yeah it's almost all to describe the difference in playing style. Though some fiddlers prefer a flatter bridge so they can hit 2 or more strings more easily. Also apparently fiddlers prefer steel strings compared to the gut and synthetic strings violin players use. I didn't see anything in the 3 min of research I just did about this but I am confident I've seen fiddle players also hold the instrument completely differently. Like at their hip rather than neck or shoulder.

    • @bradendude1414
      @bradendude1414 2 года назад +1

      @@JohnCWannamaker playing a guitar standing or sitting still makes it a guitar, as does playing with different string materials. Lots of variations of bridge radius within the same stringed instrument, but that doesn't change the name. If anything, fiddler should just be applied to the person/ play style, much the same as you might call certain guitar players "shredders", but they're still playing the guitar. Might call it an "axe" but at the end of the day, it's still a guitar!

    • @JohnCWannamaker
      @JohnCWannamaker 2 года назад +2

      @@bradendude1414 no I agree, but to some extent you could have some people consider a classical guitar a different instrument than a standard acoustic guitar. You're right they are both guitars but the differences do extent past simply how you play them.
      Like I consider a fretless electric bass guitar different than an electric bass guitar.
      A violin can be a fiddle though based entirely off play style while an acoustic guitar doesn't suddenly become a classical guitar just because you play classical music on it.

    • @Trifler500
