Avoided this set for a long time due to all the fakes out there but finally tracked down an original mono box set from a well established seller on ebay a few months ago.. What can I say, just fantastic. No Beatles CD collection is complete without this this gorgeous set.
I didn't know there was a stereo version on Help and Rubber Soul in this set that I've had for 8 yrs. Thanks for pointing that out. You're right, it sounds terrific.
I just acquired my CD mono box last year with the help of Robert P. I had the vinyl box since it came out, but like you the collector in my got loose and I went for the CD edition. I'm very happy with mine, and you are right about all the bootlegs out there. That's actually a major reason why I didn't get it sooner.
Great Video as usual! Personally I would take the CD’s out of the baggys, they are so nice to flick through, I love just getting all the mini records out and hold these awesome little replicas in my hands... Each to their own though of course!
I like having the sleeves on. As a matter of fact, I bought inner and outer sleeves for my stereo cd box set. Not good having the cd's in cardboard sleeves as they could get damaged. Wish they would have packaged the stereo set the way they did the mono. But didn't cost much to get the stereo set all sleeved up.
I really like the mono box, both LP & CD, I just wish the stereo remasters CD box set was packaged in the same type of box that the mono CDs came in, just for consistency’s sake.
Derra Dune I totally agree with you. The Beatles in general have a problem with that. The Sgt Pepper, White Album, and Abbey Road deluxe editions are all different sizes. Makes it hard to place them all together on the shelf.
I bought inner and outer sleeves for the stereo cd box set. Don't know why they didn't package them the same as the mono set. Having the stereo cd's in cardboard sleeves could possibly damage them, sliding them in and out.
Great review I am on a high again for Beatles music after watching Get Back on Disney plus I have to get the Beatles on mono I only have it on stereo cd box set and the 1985 vinyl box set in stereo.
@@BrianBringelson Same mastering on most tracks except where the US mixes were unique, She's A Woman for example. Yeah, but they are louder on the US albums box set.

Brent Pietrok I got mine on eBay and I asked the seller a bunch of questions. Including if they could take lots of photos. Check around online, there are a lot of photos of legit and counterfeit boxes so you can get an idea of what to look for.
Hey Brian, have you ever heard the Toshiba/Odeon Japanese Abbey Road CD? It came out in 1983, 4 years before the authorized Beatle CDs came out, but I've been trying to acquire that for a while now, it's supposed to be really cool sounding
I have it rules if you wanna pay 700$ for it it's on eBay there's a lot of tape Hiss in that version and its does sound the best of all the cd versions
I bought the mono cd box set in 2015 ftom Amazon and paid $253 before tax. Bought the stereo cd box set in the same year, also from Amazon and paid $193 before tax.
Up until Yellow Submarine, Let it Be and Abbey Road, the Beatles intended to have their songs listened to in mono. The original stereo mixes were really done as an afterthought. So the mono mixes are the OG mixes the band wanted to be heard. I have both and the stereo mixes are interesting but for the great majority, I think the mono sound better. YMMV.

Didn't know the Beatles name has to be with black ink and the green apple with green ink. Very informative.
Well now that you have this, you have to get the 2014 U.S. Albums box set. Which in my honest opinion the mono mixes sound superior than this set.😀

I could be wrong but I think it was around $150 when it came out. And yes the prices now are insane.
