I travel across Canada for a living and I have very little choices of airlines, so I fly WestJet and Air Canada a lot not because I like them but again because I have very little options. I used to have great experiences with WestJet prior to Covid, but the quality of their service has really gone down after the pandemic and their prices have tripled. They even took away the free pretzels, cookies, and peanuts. And no , for me the domestic flight in Canada is not better than the US!
@@Busybeeee It happens! In the UK, we have Ryan Air, Wizz Air, Jet2... Crappy airline after crappy airline, but there are some other better options for around 4-5 times the price. I think WestJet was wayyyy better Ryan Air and Wizz Air, even the domestic one... They treat you like cattle and upcharge just to breathe! haha! For US: Spirit airlines and Frontier are a lot worse than WestJet, but SouthWest is a lot better, I guess it depends who you choose, but yeah, a lot more options available for sure
I have (in business on the 787 and premium on the MAX) and I’m gonna do it again soon. One of the best flights I’ve had. Crew was very warm and hospitable. Seats were comfortable and had plenty of legroom.
I have only flown out of Calgary and found the experience very good. The meals and drinks in Premium Economy has always been very good. The new seats are very comfortable.
I’m going to Korea after 7 years of living in Canada! The video was really helpful! There is a new Westjet flight to Incheon starting in May of this year (2024), so I made a reservation to return to my home country at a low price. I was a little worried, but after watching this video, I actually got excited! Once again, thank you for the video!
Enjoy your video. I'm taking this flight from Calgary to London in about 2 weeks. What day of the week did you travel, and was it a full flight? The food looked ok in pictures, but how was the taste? lastly, was there wifi on board?
That's great! Same trip as me then! haha! The flight was almost full, to be honest, since rona, they have all been pretty full. It was a weekday. It tasted like a cheap microwavable dinner, for me it's ok. Everybody is different though! WIFI yes, but not free! Enjoy your trip! :)
As a Canadian I don’t know what airline I dislike the most. WestJet or Air Canada or both. They both charge exorbitant prices across Canada just because they can and their services has gone down the drain after Covid. Thank you for the video😊
Your experience in LAS is specific to the airport and not WestJet for sure. I fly Calgary to Vegas often and they’re always horrible. On one trip last year they made me put my carry on in the measuring device 3(!) different times. Never any issues with WestJet within Canada.
The airline is still responsible for employing the workers, so it does lie with WestJet 100%, but I agree with the service being a lottttt better in Canada!! That was my experience also!
@@s34nTravelsyes, I agree it still lies with WestJet. I literally cringed when I saw you standing in that line at LAS. It’s the worst I’ve ever experienced.
The worst absolute worst airline I have been on to date was spirit airlines, I flew with them last year omg, the delays, they are really bad with delays
ow Yeah, I have to agree there! Spirit and Frontier! Both absolute garbage! The low prices also attract some folks that are running on only one cylinder too, so that just adds to the experience
@@s34nTravels ye man, I took a trip to Vegas one time from Detroit let me tell you the delays happened because there were no pilots to fly lol, that’s a new one, and no one really knew what was going on, from there on, I just use United or Delta, which is way better than spirit, never did frontier don’t know if I want to lol
curious why you didn't bother learning anything about airline before doing a video on it? west jet is employee owned. started out exclusively 737 Boeing aircraft... then did long haul trial with 4 767 aircraft.. once that looked like it would work, they purchased brand new 787-8 Dreamliners. which is what you were on for your second international flight. your first international flight was on the 737-700. Vegas, and Calgary are in different countries, thus international flight. I am Canadian, and west jet is my only go to for flights. better seats, more leg room, and they never overbook. never will. Canadian air travel is very expensive. but west jet is the only real choice for a nice flight.
"curious why you didn't bother learning anything about airline before doing a video on it?" Like 99.999% of people, I get on the plane and I fly. I'm actually curious about the opposite to be honest as that seems to be more logical to be curious what happens in the heads of the 0.001%. If you want an answer, then I take maybe 2-3 flights monthly sometimes, so with everything else, it's not important to me to do a deep dive into each: car, plane, train I travel with. Sometimes I just want to enjoy the moment and take a video about the plane and the food etc
You post aviation content but know oh so little about planes? What the heck do you mean by a "rebranded max flight". Should do your research before getting on an airline. WestJet is a Low-Cost Carrier, not a legacy full service carrier, and yeah, they only fly Boeings. We fly WestJet often as a family, about 15000 miles a year. No meals on domestic or transborder flights, but you get full-service on trans-atlantic and pacific flights.
Did you fly with WestJet? ✈
What was your experience like?

2 weeks now, how was it 🤣🤣. I am flying from Sea to Rome in MAY
WestJet exclusively flies Boeing 737s and Boeing 787s, with their regional branch, called Encore, flies De Havilland Canada Dash 8-400s
Ok
I am flying from Vancouver to Toronto in 3 days! The flight is 4 hours 30 min so will I get a meal? How long was your domestic flight?
FREE - Juice, soft drinks, coffee, tea, Sweet or savory snack
No meal is included, you need to pay.

Have a good one!
