  • Hi, today we would like to show you two main types of bike valves and how they work.
Bike valves are used to control the amount of air in the inner tube. The bike valves work by allowing air into the inner tube and stopping it from escaping, but they can also be used to release air from the inner tube when necessary.

Hi Adrian, it sounds like you may have the Dunlop valve on your inner tube. When it come to the time when you need to replace the inner tube, you could use a tube with either a Schrader or presta valve. These valves should fit through the hole in the rim, the only issue maybe that the diameter of the presta is smaller than the hole in the rim and it may rattle a bit. To solve this some presta valve come with a screw on lock nut/ring. Hope this helps 😁
