@@TheThriftedPlanter I have high porosity hair…I struggle trying to keep it hydrated. I had to go back to ole school products and start using Carefree Curl and old products for jheri curls (Wave Nouveau & Luster Curl) products. My hair drinks all of these expensive new products 😟
I haven't planted any Elephant ears this year, BUT, Maybe next year I will. I have a greenhouse, so, I can maybe start some early next spring. But, it can be tricky starting them in my greenhouse since it can get REALLY hot in my GH when the sun is out, even when it is cool or cold outside.
I want to try in a container on my patio. I ended up planting them in 2 gallon pots each for now until it warms up some more. My last frost is April 15th here in zone 8a Hampton Va. What size container do you recommend? They are pretty big Colocasia.
Are you out to munch on some Colocasia? Foxglove, or Digitalis, is toxic. It is also used in heart medication. The poison is in the dose. Heard of water toxicity? Water is healthy! You can die from drinking too much. We need air to breathe! We can die from breathing too much concentration of O2. A lot of things are toxic. Knowledge and education are an important part in being safe. Not just fear and peripheral information. Always research. And great question. Just the fact that you asked is awesome! Keep asking these questions. It’s amazing what a person can reveal to the so-called smart by being brave (I might even say smart) enough to admit that they don’t know something. That’s where the real danger lies. Thanks for asking this question. Curious minds are the best!! 😍
This was so freaking informative thank you!! I realized that I was about to plant my bulbs upside down lol 😅
I'm so glad it helped!

I bought 2 from Lowe's today and I'm so excited to plant. So for now I can plant in the size pot you used but do I transplant into a bigger pot later?
Yay!! You can plant them both together. Do you plan to keep them potted or plant them in ground later?

Do you have to put the pot in a dark space?
Great video. What type of potting soil? Do you use peat moss or fertilizer on the bottom of the pot? Thanks
Thank you! I use PROMIX soil and I don’t usually fertilize until they start to grow and I use fish emulsion when I have it 💚
Any particular soil?
I like to use PROMIX potting soil 💚
if outside temperatures are warm, can I plant directly into the ground?
As long as the temps don't dip below 46F
Can I keep them inside? ❤
You sure can!
Now, if you then try to harvest it in the fall to overwinter in a basement, be warned: you will not find a happy round ball.
What size pot
If your bulb is big I’d start it in a one gallon pot
@@TheThriftedPlanter yes they are two big bulbs and one already have growth sprouts.
@@TheThriftedPlanter one more question how many drainage holes do you usually have in your pots
They're toxic why grow them?
Alot of Garden plants are Toxic you just don't know about them. Also Elephant ears are Ate worldwide. you just have to cook them.
Lots of plants are toxic. These aren't for eating.
