    Hey man great job! I looked at tons of review videos on the GR1 and this is one of the best! You told me everything I needed to know and even showed how to pack in a minimalist style. Top Job!!

    I am impressed with your discipline. All that in 26 liters. The key, as you said, is that you are packing for 3-4 days and washing your clothes while you are there. Very good. I like that goruck 1 bag. It is insanely expensive. but it looks like its working for you.

    Yes only 2 pairs of socks. My feet generally don't sweat so I reuse socks for a few days. Wash them over the weekend.
    Not sure on the weight. I will weigh it next time.
    I will pull together a packing list and post it here soon. Good idea

      Rusty Shacklefort I agree with the wool socks, wools naturally antimicrobial, and I wear them for days. I like Darn Tough socks because they fit well and if you were through them you get a free replacement

      I agree two wool socks are enough. Thank God that I do not have sweaty and smelling feet. I watched many packing light videos in RUclips. I really think most people pack way too much, as if they were going to move! 3 or 4 shirts are enough! 3 underwears are enough! wash as we go.

      Totally! I also take clothes there and leave them.
      I will take copper wire and hang my wet/washed clothes in front of the A/C. Works well.
      A plastic clothes hanger works well and I'll leave that there as well.

    Hi, I have noticed you have the Phillips ultrasonic toothbrush. I just got one for christmas and as I try to pack light, I'm not too pleased about the size of the changing case + need to bring one special cable, since none of my devices use miniUSB anymore.
    Can I ask how many days it lasts between charges? Is 14 days / 28 cleaning sessions feasible?

    Looks like you'll only have 2 pairs of socks - one you'll be wearing on the plane, the other for the gym? I guess you plan on wearing your loafers without socks then? I for one can't go sockless and could probably recommend to people like me, stuffing extra socks needed into your shoes before packing them into the GoRuck.
    I think it'd be nice to put your pack list in the details of this video so impatient people, like me, can skip right to the packing part of the vid ;)
    Also, what is your total weight after you're fully packed? I like the idea of putting this all into one bag, but looking at Turkish Airlines, the GoRuck does conform to the size limitation, but they max the weight allowance at 8kg or ~17.5 pounds.
    Thanks for your vid!

    Hi Tom, I'm moving to Malaysia for a year to teach. The GR1 looks like a great bag to get me over there, and doing to some weekend hikes and adventures to other islands. Would you recommend it for everyday bag just maybe a few things to get me to and from class? Or would this bag feel to heavy to carry around all the time even with not much stuff? Thanks!

    • @psuk2skier
      @psuk2skier  7 лет назад +2

      Sounds like a great adventure. I have used the GR1 as my everyday bag for about 4 years. It is the perfect size for everyday use and I can't think of a better one to recommend. I honestly feel a sense of joy every morning that I put this bag on my back. It just fits perfectly and is so sturdy. I hope it works well for you. Safe travels.

      I'm living in Malaysia with a GR1. It is a fantastic product and it's my 'do everything' pack, but having used one daily for a year or so I can tell you the ventilation absolutely sucked, and it sucks even more when you're using it in Malaysian weather which is hot and humid all the time.

    No water? Do you carry a bottle in your hands while at the airport, or is there some room left inside the pack?

    • @rustyshacklefort3715
      @rustyshacklefort3715 8 лет назад

      They would confiscate it at every airport. Its best to buy water once you are past security each time.

    • @psuk2skier
      @psuk2skier  8 лет назад +1

      +ClimbAClassic drinking tap water in China is not really safe. So taking a water bottle would likely be unnecessary. I don't like throwing away plastic bottles but it is how it works in China

    • @rustyshacklefort3715
      @rustyshacklefort3715 8 лет назад

      Oh I didn't mean drink the tap haha. I meant buy water bottles that are full. I prefer the ones that come with shrink wrap but sometimes hard to find.

      +Nick Joy the bag doesn't have a model number. The best I could find is a tag with EC 41062 on it. I hope this helps. In general. The packing cube is about 10" x 14" x 5" when fully packed.

    • @psuk2skier
      @psuk2skier  7 лет назад

      David Ford it's never been questioned. I don't think that's a requirement to have pills in specific containers.

    • @rrmerlin3402
      @rrmerlin3402 7 лет назад

      In crossing the canadian border, both ways, all medication need to be in prescription containers.

    • @Anon.Ymous137
      @Anon.Ymous137 7 лет назад

      David Ford - In regards to the US, I have checked online and with TSA in person (from different states - due to some conflicting info received in the past), supplements/medication are okay. They don't usually, but be aware they may do tests like swabbing your hands or something. I have had my hands swabbed when I take powdered baby formula. I don't know if it's available in the states, but there are medicines in powder form - like aspirin.
      My dad frequently flies through different countries, whether it's the destination or layover, but most often he hasn't had an issue with having his medication in a bag or organizer.
      He takes about 5-7 diff meds daily and uses an AM and PM Weekly Organizer, but just in case, he still takes the original prescription bottles just in case - customs/security stops him or he drops/loses them or extends trip and has extra on hand.
      I had a friend get stopped on his way out from Canada with his extra/left over pills, but not on his way in. They got tossed, but luckily they were actually just supplements, not prescription.
      Either way prescription or over the counter meds/supplements - I bring a travel sized bottle of original packaging, especially for traveling to other countries because rules can change or staff can be inconsistent.
