    Let's get this straight,
I don't need to get out more or particularly like tag watches but
I do think you've elevated yourself to No1 watch you tuber!
    Certainly in my opinion.
You're not trying to sell me coffee or tell me it's unsafe to go to London in a timex You're doing great reviews on great watches on a regular basis.
The videos have got better and better and I enjoy the fact they are shot in one attempt.
I'm sure everyone else would agree. Keep them coming 👌

There’s a lot to say about tag in the watch community. For me, this was the first known “watch brand” I got to know when it came to luxury watches. My wife gave me my first one for Christmas 4 years ago, I was already into watches and had read all the bad things enthusiast would say about Tag, I was ok with it. However, every day I appreciated the watch more and more. You can really see the quality on the piece. Now, it’s my every day watch, comfortable, lightweight and good looking enough for people to notice and, yes, almost everybody knows Tag as a brand. So, it has my respect, they are coming up with really great models and this aqua racer is proof. Very good worth for the money!

The new date CYCLOPS is fantastic a super trick. Previous cyclops magnifier caused a bump in the crystal. Tag Heuer has improved the cyclops by inverting it so the crystal totally flat.

Loved the old tags, got a formula one chronograph ca1212-1 from 1999 and it's a classic. 38mm case is surprising, that it's wears so well on my 7 and a half inch wrists. It's the only quartz watch I own , but I love it. Tag in the 80s and 90s ruled the watch world. Great watches , and it's nice to see they have improved the bracelet. 41mm will probably come out later. Old tags still fetch a pretty penny on eBay, so there's still a lot of love for the brand out there. Great review as always Andrew.

Thank You for the well thought review! I went to couple stores here in CA and try it on this watch is beautiful in person hands down to the new design! The new a smaller of 43mm compare to old ones it fits perfectly on me which the old 41mm looks good but in my wrist it has less presence . The blue bezel is gorgeous at night it looks close black and on bright light dull blue to bright blue color depends on the angle of light, the looks overall resembles to a Rolex Submariner with its white octagon indices and a bit larger hour and min hands..... in my own opinion this a gorgeous looking watch! u should see it and believe me you will love it!

Love my Tag, it's a watch I can really just wear without worry. Also, as much as I'd like a sea-master planet ocean or a Rolex, they just run that little bit too expensive for me so something like this new watch looks great, not too expensive to keep me awake at night and I bet I can wear that to work and in the garden. Looking to try and maybe purchase.

Thank you for your honest reviews. The very first ever review of yours that I watched was for the Rolex Datejust blue dial with the scratches owners review. That was amazing. I still ended up buying that watch and then also sold it for those similar reasons lol. I now own this new Aquaracer in black. You nailed it in this review reg the comfort, feel and size. Spot on mate. Only thing you may have omitted is the accuracy of the Caliber 5. TAG could have invested in a Chronometer. But nevertheless this is my daily as it’s such a great all round package and very comfortable for such a large watch. Keep up the down to earth reviews. Luv how you point out a few positives and then negatives. Cheers!

I think they knocked it outta the park with this one. So many improvements, this is what the aqua racer always should have been. The old bracelet was pathetic, this one has a taper, well thought out clasp, quick adjust, love it. Even the dial, still has the Aquaracer DNA with its shapes and lined dial face, and I love the date bubble being INSIDE the glass, I think that’s really innovative! Sad they didn’t upgrade the movement bc the “in-house” (lol) Calibre 5 is a dog. But overall A-/A watch. Having said that, I now own a Seamaster and there’s no way I would wear the Aquaracer over it. If this was 2-3 years ago when I was getting into luxury brands, I might have bought it. I looked hard at the Aquaracer but it was just too much money for too little value. This one is a big fix in that direction. But it’s just too late for me, brilliant watch for others to pick up, and I can certainly appreciate it from a distance, but it unfortunately would have no place in my rotation (unfortunate bc I really wanna support Tag when they do right)

43mm indeed looks very gigantic. Perhaps, it may go with informal wear but won't look good on a formal long sleeve shirt. Maybe, if you're Dwayne Johnson you can pull it off looking decent with formal wear otherwise, it would look like your wearing a wall clock on your wrist. Great review Andrew. I'm in the pro Tag camp, have 3 Carreras and one F1 quartz. There is a lot of group think in the watch community and its popular to dislike Tag Heuer as a brand for whatever reason. I think this watch looks great, the light play on the dial looks fantastic. The size doesn't bother me at all, my 43mm Carrera is a big watch so this will feel slender in comparison. Now I need some advice. I have a Breitling Superocean 42 (new model, white dial) and want to pick up either this Aquaracer on blue dial or another Superocean with black dial. Really struggling to decide as both can be had for same price, although the SO will be on rubber.

Another good video Andrew, two things missing though. I’d like to know how easy it is to remove and replace links in the strap as it looks very long in your video. Also, how’s the time keeping? I have OCD when it comes to time keeping and hate watches that run slowly. I had a Calibre 5 (brown/sand coloured) that I loved the look of but it always ran slowly and I had to get rid of it, something I regret doing now but I just can’t have a late runner.

    • @watchandrew
      @watchandrew  3 года назад +2

I prefer the previous version sadly... This one looks luxurious, very well manufactured, and with an amazing bracelet, but they got rid of the right size for me, the 41mm. 43mm is way too big for me and 36mm too small, at least for a diver. I'm also not a fan of those hexagonal markers, i preferred the rectangular ones of the previous version. And on top of that, the date and "aquaracer" text are on awkward positions. It's not that I think it's a bad watch, it's just that feels like taking one step forward and three steps backwards. I think they felt compelled to somehow renew their lineup, but I think It's the case of "Don't fix what ain't broken" type of case. Having looked at both versions, I specifically searched and bought the previous one

Hugely popular outside of the “watch community”.
The majority of Tag owners I’ve encountered tend to own quartz aqua racers or F1’s.
    Bit of a “geezers” watch.
If this was a 41mm, and priced to compete with the Oris Aquis, and Longines Hydroconquest models, I’d be interested.
It’s putting itself up against the Black Bay range at this price point, and I’d struggle to choose the Tag.

I think a lot of the hate for Tag centres around overpriced quartz watches & all their watches being overpriced in general. Personally I like the new Aqua Racer, round date window aside lol & if I could go back 4 years would have considered one if I could get a good discount!

Why spend £1000,00 on a copy when you can spend £10.00 on one? Get rid of the steel bracelet they are awful go for fabric on both, colour match the band to your watch. Style is better than expense.

Tag Heuer recently has been making the best looking wristwatches regardless price tags. I would say Tag Heuer is politically correct brand as well. And the fact that Swiss watch industry genius Jean Claude Biver has had his touch on Tag Heuer makes it even more precious. I know the guy who started hate on Tag Heuer, actually he hates most brands:), so just recently he has published a couple of videos where he admitted that Tag Heuer is a decent brand and he was unfair towards Tag Heuer… he of course prefers Rolex:)…
