@@capndikkens5790 ok, here’s the thing. A lot of people don’t understand exactly what the “which came first, the chicken or the egg” question is really asking. What it’s asking is “at what point does a species come to exist?” As we know, chickens evolved from some ancient dinosaur ancestor. So let’s consider this ancestor as starting out as 0% chicken. It’s just some scaly dinosaur. Over time, the mutations that lead to being a chicken start to happen. Slowly, the creature and its species will become closer and closer to 100% chicken with every new generation. So, eventually you get to two creatures that are 99.9999999% chicken. One more act of mating will produce the first 100% modern chicken. So, when those two 99.99999% chicken ancestors mate, and lay eggs, that egg contains the first ever chicken embryo in it. Therefore, the egg came first. It’s also important to realize that it’s not a requirement to emerge from the egg to count as “coming first”. The fact that the genetic material came together from the ancestors and produced the first chicken embryo means that the egg counts as “coming first”
I live for these comps- You don’t have to, but I’ve been wondering if anyone has made a comp of Dan getting Disappointedly angry at Arin for being tricked into a scary game or into making a bad move XD
7:13 wow. This entire conversation is just Arin going against his entire "let's fucking go" argument. Like, it's not 100% the same thing, but I feel that it's similar enough. He doesn't like when people don't express themselves properly when "let's fucking go" is enough to convey what they mean? Not calling Arin a hypocrite, just find it a little odd is all.
honestly i dont think it is going against his own argument! at least not directly. when talking about lets fucking go vs my heart is full of vigour, i believe he wants people to properly express what they _mean_ when they say lets fucking go, because LFG can be used in so many contexts. when talking anout shortened words/internet slang like the ones they mentioned, hes saying that shortening words dont necessarily take away from the earnestness of them. like he'd fully accept "my
Fully disagree with Arin on the internet's shortening of words. Specificity is important to me, so I like saying exactly what I mean, even if it requires many words.
Totally agree, especially as someone who is autistic and has a hard time understanding something unless it's written out with exactly the right intended words. And I don't understand half the abbreviations out there and just wish people could take a few extra seconds to type a full word. And, as someone who writes stories, it's very much ingrained in me to write properly, so kind of a habit at this point.
I argue for shortening words specifically because most of the time (outside of abbreviations like tbh, fr, and… well, *etc* ) when I shorten words it’s because of a character limit! It may make me look less eloquent, but my god am I not going to make a whole other comment just to fit in the two words I couldn’t before!
Chicken and the Egg part is so funny when you remember Arin gifted Dan some Stegosaurus Eggs - Eggs that existed before chickens.
You do realize the chicken and egg arguement has nothing to do with whether eggs of any kind existed before chickens right?
@@spiderdude2099Doesn’t matter, still funny
@spiderdude2099 you do realize that the existence of eggs before chickens implies that any chicken would've had to hatch from an egg, right?

@spiderdude2099 I am not reading all of that, because I just don't care about this argument enough.
The fact that I burst out laughing as soon as I heard the words "Grape Ape" goes to show the impact that conversation had on me.
Also, at some point in the time since that episode, Grape Ape has gotten a page in the Kaiju Wiki.
I wonder if there's a page for Clifford the Big Red Stab W-- I mean, Dog.
