Isn't it interesting that Polycarp didn't cite any of the teachings of his rabbi, the Apostle John? I mean, John had SUCH great teaching but his own disciple didn't ever reference it? Very odd.

We have no idea what his homilies were like! Remember, this was a very oral society, not like ours at all.
