- Here’s a tutorial from start to finish how to change the rear brakes and your rear wheel bearings on your FN2.
I hope this is useful information.
Video shown in actual time to show you how easily this can be done on your driveway.
I’m using that as an excuse as I was eating tea whilst sorting the video and didn’t chop anything out 😂.
Any questions don’t be afraid to ask, and please drop the video a like it really helps
Thank you
May seem like long pointless pauses in this video, but I wanted to show you start to finish, no camera tricks. This is so easy.
The 10mm nuts holding the splash shroud on were totally seized so they all snapped.
This is not an issue if you don’t intend on fitting new ones, like me.
If you do intend on fitting new ones I recommend using fire, get them red hot, or else you’re in for a really fun time tapping or drilling them out.
Tools used:
Impact wrench, (breaker bars if not)
Wind back kit
Impact driver
Hammer
Ratchet
10mm socket
13mm socket
14mm socket
32mm socket
Grease
Wire brushes
Chisel
Grinder (saw if not)
had the same issue with splash guards. managed to drill ou the bolts on those who snapped. The only thing I would have done different would be taking the oportunity to take the beam for blasting and powdercoating. Saves you to do this again. Any way good job dude
@@FN2OPS new beam sat in the shed mate, just can’t be arsed 😂
I did paint it all after the video anyway
@@Matty_Champwhite ahaha lazy boy. You’re sorted then mate
@@FN2OPS it’s there waiting for snapping day ahaha.
@@Matty_Champwhite at least you will get decent camber out of that rear axle 🤣
Thanks for this. It has given me the confidence to try myself on my own FN2.
Dead easy mate, just spend a steady day at it and you’ll be fine 👍👍
Top job mate, those guards get on my nerves 🤣👌👍✌
Had to go mate. Could poke your finger through them on one side 😂
Hi matty hope you’re well, great video and super happy you’ve kept these types of videos up. Just wanted to ask what the product number was for the ntn rear wheel bearing on AutoDoc as it seems to appear as item number 174.70 NTN SNR when I check. Thanks.
i need to install new guard. in the inspection there was a repair prompt for it. the old one is already crispy and almost gone.
we have an inspection in Finland every year.
Great video. Just wondering was that normal silicone paste you used when fitting the new hub ?
It’s actually sachs high performance grease, autodoc stock it
Great job mate.
Cheers man. Hopefully this will give people a bit of confidence in doing them themselves or realising how easy a Job it is. 2 hours tops taking it easy 👍
@@Matty_Champwhite i'm sure it will. Thanks for sharing that with us.
Cheers from France
its easier and more efficient to use nut extracter than grinding.
Yeah if there was one at hand then it would have been, but would have been far less efficient as we didn’t have one.
Do you think the splash guards are necessary? The nuts on my splash guard are corroded to hell and I'm contemplating on just not installing the new ones I bought.. Doing a brake job so I thought I'd replace the guards as well but turns out it's not so easy.
They play a role in keeping the disk clean for sure, bit not a chance I was paying £100 for them. Paid less for the disks pads and bearings!
Good😊How to VTR🎉
Hi ! can you send the link to where you got the bearing hubs from 🙌🏼 ? £45 each i think i heard you say
Autodoc when they have their 40% discounts, that’s when I usually stock up on parts
Did you have any issues with the ABS sensor?
Not at all on the rears, you don’t have to touch them
@@Matty_Champwhite thanks mate. I asked Honda to replace the splash guards on mine as I'd bought some new genuine ones a while ago but hadn't fitted them. They broke an ABS sensor whilst doing it... Said it was due to it being an old car. 🤦🏼
@@fn2_and_gryaris total horsecrap mate you don’t even have to touch the sensor, heavy handed arseholes 😣
S&T?
SPICOP/Planner mate haha
@@Matty_Champwhite haha. Great vids mate, watched them all and the dynodaze ones. You’ve got a beast there!
Had mine for over 12 years but fully stock ☹️
