Harry Chapin was a visionary. Genius. I remember back in the 80's he was on the radio and he bought his kids, they were nice kids Not long afterwards he died in a car crash between gigs. I thought of his kids, I cry every time. Its genius As you say, beautiful and painful Never live with regret
I raised my son with this song in mind, no matter what I had going on, how tired I was nothing would stand between our relationship. I Always had time for him. Today he is in the Marines and calls me just about everyday just to say hello. What a great kid.
This one was written and performed by Harry Chapin back in the 70's. If you get a chance you should treat yourselves to his original version. I think you will enjoy it. And if you do enjoy it, you then should also listen to his song Mr. Tanner. I think you will enjoy it as well.. 🙂
Very emotional song that tugs at the heart strings, for some it's reality played out in front of you in a song, you will listen to it again eventually but you know the pain it brings to remind you how precious family life is.
Just felt like watching a reaction to an old favorite of mine, and I just love ypu guys lol. Awesome explanation of how a very deep sad song makes you feel.
YAY first comment, I grew up with this song, I was 7 when it came out and the first time I heard it was with my dad. He stopped the truck listened to it. He gave me a hug and even though he had told me he had to work, we went home and he called in to work and we spent the weekend out camping. I love this song and how it changed my life with my dad.
Song is like Floyds Time. The older you get the message hits differently. As a parent this song is hard, but its also a warning and I made sure to enjoy my kids as much as I could. Still now they are older, I will forever miss those days.
Thank you so much for this reaction and the honesty and vulnerability. This song has remained an anthem for me after it had such an impact on me as a young man. I was lucky enough to have a father that didn't put career ahead of family and it became my mantra not to sacrifice family over career/money. I remember the first time I had to be away from my first daughter for more than one night (on a business trip for 8 days) when she was 2yo. My father drove me to the airport and I cried on that journey. It was the longest 8 days of my life to that point. The message in this song for me is "You reap what you sow", same as "You only get out of life what you put in". The same message applies to your kids - invest and stay vested and you'll reap the rewards.
Heard this song before the birth of my first son. My dad was great but he had to work so much for the family I hardly saw him growing up and although we got on it often didn’t feel like a father and son relationship. I vowed I would never allow that to happen with my kids and I’d spend as much time as I could with them. My 2 sons are in their 20’s now, I pray that I got the balance right in their eyes.
This was my life in a nutshell! I am in my mid to late fifties snd have heard this song by Harry Chapin more times than I can count. My father died 12 years ago and I think of him and cry every time I hear it now.
Andrei and Dominika..... As you liked this, I think you would really appreciate this recommendation. The great John Stewart is a singer songwriter that most people have never heard of. The live performance posted by Paul Rybolt from the concert in Dalry was made shortly before his death in 2008. This video displays all the emotion from this time of his life. The song.... John Stewart - Walk on the moon
I'm so sorry to see how painful this song is to you...I don't know the backstory, but I feel your pain...Your raw emotion is sad,you feel this song in your heart and I know it hurts you. Please take care and realize you are not alone,we are here with you to feel that pain, and hopefully, that can give you some strength. Take care and God bless.
It’s a tough song to get through. Gets me every time. I lost my son to suicide when he was 16. I traveled a lot for work and think of how many lost moments there were in that short 16 years. Now take the lyrics of Pink Floyd’s Time and your head really spins. Great reaction, same as mine😢
This song has always crushed me. My father had issues and didn't do much with me. I vowed not to be like him. I ended up without any kids. So I couldn't spend time with my son. Harry Chapin's version is the ultimate.
In The Living Years by Mike + Mechanics is another great song. Not sure if you have reacted to it yet but you should someday. Great reaction. Hugs to Andrei ❤
EDITH PIAF. NO REGRETS. TRY TO PLAY THE ONE WITH FRENCH AND ENGLISH SUBTITLES I THINK THAT IS THE BEST VERSION. ALSO THE WALKER BROTHERS. NO REGRETS. A COMPLETLY DIFFERENT SONG. I DON'T NOOO IF YOU WILL LIKE THESE SONGS OR NOT. I LIKE THEM. BUT THEN I'M RETARDED. ENJOY!! )did i get your attention!!( THANK YOU. I USED TOBEE A LITTLE TWIGG, BUT I GREW OUT OF IT.
As a father, it's impossible to feel this song while keeping your eyes dry...
Thank you for your reaction!

Such beautiful people with beautiful hearts.... thank you for your heartfelt, genuine reaction.. xo
I feel your pain. This is probably the only song that brings me to tears 'every' time I hear it 😞
Nothing beats the original by Harry Chapin in the 70's. Iconic song.
I like the ugly kid joe version
@@fabienberreta499 me too
This version does. Just like Johnny Cash's version of Hurt is better than NIN. Just deal with it.
That one sucks ass bro
This is a cover from Harry Chapin. Much better version. Yall should check it out.
Y'all are my favorite reactors
Thank you kindly 😊💚
This song is 50 years old! Can you believe that!

It's great and touching to see such a big bearded heart!
Amazing lyrics that make me tear up a little every time 😢
I heard it like a zilion times, but lyrics still hit me. They had another great song "Anything about you".
Love you guys, such a heart felt genuine reaction, this song gets you in the feels.

Thank you Jesus for the good times.
Beautiful song.very sentimental.
Always makes me cry
I grew up with the original version in the 70's by Harry Chapin. Always a very introspective song.
This was my life in a nutshell! I am in my mid to late fifties snd have heard this song by Harry Chapin more times than I can count. My father died 12 years ago and I think of him and cry every time I hear it now.
Harry Chapin was a great songwriter. His original version is the absolute BEST. This version is ok.

So relevant. My life in a song. I hear from my son occasionally, but he's busy, and I understand.
Hugs from the three of us 💚
We do not all lose. We all win. We are gifted with existence.
Very respectful cover
Harry would have liked it
I cry with you......

Love from both of us 💚

This is okay but Harry Chapin who is the original writer and his version is much better ❤
Great song and great reaction. I would love for you to react to Jack Savoretti, Breaking the rules (live).
In The Living Years by Mike + Mechanics is another great song. Not sure if you have reacted to it yet but you should someday. Great reaction. Hugs to Andrei ❤
Yep, we've done Mike + Mechanics. Please search in our videos...another song that hits us hard. Thank you for stopping by 💚😊
Nice cover. Original is my favorite.
Harry Chapin first, then you react to this one.
That's the way this world is these days. Parents are working and kids are being raised by social media.
Your Wife loves you.
I wanna have a beer with you mate. I think we would have a lot to talk about lol
Omg do I HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU by Ugly Kid Joe and do the official video. Lyrics won’t be a problem. ❤
This is a decent cover but it just doesn't hit as hard as the original... Harry Chapin was a master storyteller... Love you two!!! ❤
You Are Standing Upon Hallowed Ground ... (???) ...

The original is a must listen. As a father, it is kind of hard to listen to.
Well…… this is a very strange choice.
