@@JohnnyMegabyteCanadasure for us Canadians we hear this on any rock station but it’s not known worldwide especially states when they have such similar sounds.
I grew up in northeast Montana and the only radio stations that played rock were from Saskatchewan. Lucky us. We were exposed to a lot of great Canadian bands that, for one reason or another, weren’t as big in the states.
You must listen to You Won't Dance With Me. Another big hit for April Wine. I head the honor of introducing the guys a couple of times during my radio career back in the mid 1970's. Myles was a great songwriter and guitarist and a great guy, and I miss him.
Live for this band! Have seen them so many times in concert, and they are AWESOME! "Sign of the Gypsy Queen" is a groovy vibe of theirs you HAVE TO check out!
Love April Wine -- a classic Canadian rocking band! Would LOVE to hear you put up some Prism -- another VERY underappreciated Canadian band. Suggest: Armageddon, Spaceship Superstar, or Young and Restless. And how is it possible that you two haven't done a listen to anything by Kim Mitchell??
More outstanding Canadian Music The Kings performing Switching to Glide, This Beat Goes On. It's a MUST listen and would love to see you react to it if you haven't already done it. Thanks in advance from a Canadian fan that grew up in that era.
This Canadian boy appreciates you shining some light on our Canadian gold. Some other Canadian classics you would like and should give a spin Nick Gilder "Hot Child In The City", Martha & the Muffins "Echo Beach" and Trooper "Raise a Little Hell".
Always great to hear more April Wine! Next for them try the awesome cover of King Crimson's 21st Century Schizoid Man, a killer original as well, you need to hear King Crimson if you have not already. They are up there with YES, ELP and Genesis for great prog rock. Enjoy! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶🔥
Great tune. Brings back some memories . April Wine has plenty of rocking songs, but they did some fine ballads too. Check out You Won’t Dance With Me from 1977. 🇨🇦
One of many underrated Canadian rock bands. These guys had quality and longevity. This was the first song I ever heard from them I was about 10 or 11 years old at the time. Taped it off the radio. Classic.
A very good band that I've liked forever lot of good songs and they're very underrated they deserved more recognition from the amount of talent of music that they may
I saw April Wine in concert in about 1993 with other acts "Ugly Kid Joe", "Def Leopard" and a couple of other bands which I can't recall right now. What a blast it was!
I was 14 in Toronto and this was my second ever concert and with my first boyfriend. They put on a memory making show and I was walking on air for days afterwards. Great Memories.
Someone has already mentioned the super good April Wine song "Say Hello." Two more of their awesome hit songs are "Love Has Remembered Me" and "This Could Be The Right One."
One of my favorite bands. a short story about "Enough is Enough". They do another song called " Anejo" witch for some reason never got any air time on the radio, but I loved the song. ( wore out that section on the cassette) Well I wanted to hear it on the radio ,so contrary to my nature ,I called in and requested it, morning after morning for a good week, before leaving for work. With no results. I felt I was being ignored. So Saturday morning comes ( I have more time) I called in and requested "Anejo" about 8 times in a1/2 hour period. Well, finely they played "Enough is Enough" and explained that just because their a radio station doesn't mean they have every song out there. I was disappointed but at least I no they heard me. So, maybe give "Anejo" a listen , and tell me ,am I the only one that liked this song?
GREAT reaction Jay & Amber! Good vibes is right! Canada's ultimate bar band - just solid rock n' roll - they never disappoint! Summer music is spot on. I've noticed you have still to do the following: Weeping Widow (heavy, HEAVY track!), This Could Be The Right One, I'm On Fire For You Baby, You Could Have Been A Lady, Fast Train... Your mission - get on it!! Cheers from this April Wine lovin' Canadian, eh!!
There is SO MUCH from Colin James to check out - ESP. as he would CHANGE STYLES! I love (almost) all of it though. I personally didn't like his one (National Steel - backwoods/backdoor blues) stuff though that he picked up when travelling & meeting some others in the field. The REST of his blues & his other styles I am STILL all here for.
This is so Canadian. Top-tier band, flying down the expressway in an open semi. Friggin' great. This song was ALL OVER top 40 radio at the time. Wonder if it ever hit down south of the border?
April Wine had some really good stuff in te 1980s but their '70s output was superb. I have their greatest hits album from the 1970s and it is fantastic. You need to react to, if you haven't already, I Like To Rock, Roller (my favourite), Oowatanite, Bad Side of the Moon, Rock N Roll Is A Vicious Game, Say Hello, Drop Your Guns, Weeping Widow, Could Have Been A Lady, Sign o the Gypsy Queen, Tonight Is Wonderful Time (To Fall In Love), I'm On Fire For You Baby and Just Between You and Me. Myles Goodwin (RIP) was an underrated singer, of both rock and pop ballads, and guitar player.
I'm enjoying watching the evolution of your viewing room. From the painted brick background to the small room and now this bigger room. And the collection of memorabilia is impressive.
Another AMAZING Canadian band are The Planet Smashers! Started in the early 90’s, and still play today. With songs like Life of the Party, Surfin’ in Tofino, Super Orgy Porno Party, Pee in the Elevator, and sooo many more!!! You gotta check them out! Canadian Ska legends!!!
I am glad (as a Canadian) that you had fun with this one & yes, it did always feel right in the summertime - BUT - PLEASE - check out some of our OTHER Canadian artists TOO! We have SO MANY - that you HAVEN'T heard at all yet! There is a HUGE catalogue of them! We have COMPILED LISTS of them (& EVEN SONGS WITH THEM) in a FEW of your more recent Can. reviews. MOST of them you will like, really like or even love. Some, I'm not sure whether you will like them or not BUT that is in the MINORITY - AND YOU MAY LIKE THEM TOO! PLEASE KEEP DISCOVERING MORE CANADIAN ARTISTS - we have SO MANY to offer you - STILL. Have a great day. (Sorry to badger you on this, but you won't be disappointed.) 🥺
Like other comments mentioned....super underrated because they are Canadian but such a good classic rock band. Other top songs to check out are- ooowhatanight- bad side of the moon- say hello- could have been a lady. Thats if you havent already, maybe uou have. Thanks for the Canadian love ❤
One of my favorite songs from my favorite April Wine album Power Play. There is another song that is really fun. If You See Kay is nice play on words. This album came out in 72 and I think they were about to break big in America but then in 83 Def Leppard and Quiet Riot threw music for a loop with their sound and slick videos and if you didn't have the look you weren't getting air play.
Seen them 3 times - 2 outdoor concerts and 1 arena concert. Other Canadian rock groups to check - Prism (Spaceship Superstar or Take Me To the Kaptain) , Honeymoon Suite(Stay in the Light , New Girl Now) , Platinum Blonde (It Doesn't Really Matter) , Trooper(Raise A Little Hell , Were Here for a Good Time) , Streetheart (One More Time or Action or Snow White) or Colin James(Sex and Cars & the 3rd World War , Voodoo Thing , Just Came Back) plus so many more Canadian artists you have never heard about
2 Canadian rocker suggestions for Female Friday: Lee Aaron (Metal Queen, Whatcha Do To My Body) and The Headpins featuring Darby Mills (Don't It Make Ya Feel, Turn It Loud)
I love April Wine Jay and Amber but I can't believe you've only done Night Ranger one time! You have to check out their live version of "Don't Tell Me You Love Me!" Tallk about a rockin song! As Damone in "Fast Times at Ridgmont High said, "Try it, you won't be disappointed!"
April wine have so many great songs too many to list but some of my favorites Could have been a lady,Sign of the gypsy queen, weeping widow, crash and burn, rock and roll is a vicious game and so many more.
Jay and Amber you must listen to Streetheart another great Canadian band and the song you must listen to is under my thumb originally done by the Rolling stones but you will like the guitar solo in this one
All Over Town, Could Have Been a Lady and Oooowatanite are awesome April Wine tunes!!!❤
Their 1972 hit "Could have been a Lady" is still my favorite!
Oowatasong.
Yes
A great Canadian band..RIP Myles
Hugely under rated Canadian band. Soooo much good music! Be sure to check out sign of the gypsy queen!
under-rated? They are in the Canadian Rock Music of Fame
They are overlooked unfortunately here in the states. Power Play was a tour de force album!@JohnnyMegabyteCanada
@@JohnnyMegabyteCanadasure for us Canadians we hear this on any rock station but it’s not known worldwide especially states when they have such similar sounds.

I Like To Rock, and Say Hello
Canadian here, wasn't sure if I knew this one until I heard the first note.
Yeah, CanCon did that to us LOL But, we're all the better for it because we had April Wine ;)
A couple of other Canadian bands from around the same time that were really good were Chilliwack and Trooper.
Couldn't agree more 👏
Trooper
Indeed. Chilliwack one of my very first 45's that I ever owned.
Need some “Spaceship Superstar” and “Armageddon “ and “Fly by Night” or “Gone, Gone, Gone”

I'd love to see them do "Let Go The Line"
You need to listen to “Say Hello”. It’s a good one. Also “Get Ready for Love”.
Takes me back to my junior year of high school..
They did one of the coolest slow ballads ever. '' I'm on Fire For You Baby ''. Check it out.
April Wine - Before the Dawn

"Tell her I waaanntt her" lol..classic tune 👍🤘 I love the way the harmony vocals go up in pitch on the choruses "Kaaaayyy"😅
I recalled them getting in a bit of trouble for this song lol
'Roller' by April Wine is a classic rock station staple.
This was definitely on my cottage playlist (mix tape lol) back in the day.
Someone has already mentioned the super good April Wine song "Say Hello." Two more of their awesome hit songs are "Love Has Remembered Me" and "This Could Be The Right One."

Kim Mitchell. GREAT Canadian rocker from the 70s!
Kim Mitchell's - "Go for a Soda"
April Wine is good stuff. Simple as that.
Look at how young the band is here. You could tell they were destined for stardom.
I think this was their last big hit.
Trooper or prism, please
How about “Triumph”?
You said it man!! The first concert i ever saw was headlined by April Wine in a big Arena, and it was All that!!

OOwatanite is a real rocker from April Wine.
In the Canadian theme. you should check out Trooper. They’ve a varied catalogue of ‘70s Canadian house party rock.
'The Whole Worlds Going Crazy' (1976) next perhaps. Cheers.
This was cool, I like their vibe. Speaking of wine, I suggest Def Leppard--Me & My Wine. For Dokken, I suggest "Burning Like A Flame."
Great band!!
