Gosh, I'm so excited, and happy and in love with that doll! Thank you for all the care, hard work and creativity you given to my Magicalsona. It's amazing too see the whole process. Being able to see the fabric and knowing how soft it is. Watching the decorating scenes and knowing how glimmery-shimmery those patterns are in real life. Magicalsona is amazing and never will be better - cause she is perfect right now. You revive my childhood love to fairies and butterflies, which makes the doll even more special. I love how you spice up the design, henna is a super nice touch and the way you make the halo is so delicate and amazing. And those shose! OMG, those shoes. Simple yet perfect in every way

I LOVE HER DESIGN SO MUCH AHHHHHH it would be super cool to see dolls of each of IrisAnimae's sonas. The white henna brings the design together so well, my gosh I LOVE how it adds so much and is so gorgeous. I really appreciated you showing the trial and error of that skirt (which turned out so clean and fantastic). I think a lot of people see what looks like a super simple piece and do not realize how difficult sewing/pattern making can actually be! This doll is really stunning. Oh and the spirit of the lost socks made me think of a children's book by William Joyce called the Mischievians, which is like a "guide" book of little creatures that steal socks, are responsable for mysterious smells and missing homework and general other little daily quirks. Might be fun for "research" haha

You did an amazing job. Honestly I love the faceup for this one as well; showing the details and explaining what you did. I have been thinking about what spirit dolls to do, but all I can think about is trickery, winter, maybe dark, or maybe storms

Stunning as always!! Those little henna details?! The wings?! The shoes!!! (3D printer envy for sure!) Your reimagining is so you but also still defo the characters. Omg I can't believe you think your face ups are boring! Not at all!! You defo have your own style but you don't have same face syndrome at all!! Totally agree about hems on this scale, they're not great on human size tbf either. The only way I can think of making them look better is by doing a facing but then the hem would be 4 ply which would make it bulkier....

A series of dolls (or maybe one only hahaha) of different kind of abstract concepts or the senses would be so cool actually! The spirit of light, maybe the spirit of sound (with music motives maybe), or maybe just the classical elements like water, fire, earth and air and all that

spirit of friendship? sisterhood? platonic love? i associate yellows and blues with friendship and familiar love, so maybe a doll that have all of the things that you associate with those things
The doll looks lovely!!! A tip I’d like to share, since I, too, struggle with circle skirts: if you use sew small ribbon onto the right side and flip it afterwards, it should make hemming a lot easier!! I do it on my circle skirts, though I’m not 100% sure it’ll work on doll scale.

As someone who ALSO hates hemming circle skirts, you could look into doing a bias finishing for them on the bottom!! Sewing bias tape to a hem on a curve and then flipping it under and stitching it down helps prevent the yucky rolling that happens when you roll hem a curve like on a circle skirt. 10/10 recommend this method, it takes a little bit longer but gives beautiful results on the outside of the skirt that also traps the raw edges inside the bias tape underneath :)
(You can also use a different color bias tape underneath for a fun pop of color!!)
I discovered the magic of bias tape recently but I didn't think of a bias hem! That's a great tip! Perhaps I'll be a little less scared of circle skirts next time 🤗 thanks for the comment! 💖 Would you use a bias tape with the 2 folds instead of 3 for this since it's all going to the inside?
@@Enchanterium That trick is what saved my sanity when I had to make 12 circle skirts for a theatre show, so I always make sure to pass it along when I see other struggling with them! Two fold bias tape is the best method for it, and if you haven’t yet you can actually use your 3D printer to make bias tape folders in any size you need (very convenient, as most commercial bias tape makers are both super expensive and don’t come in small sizes for doll making). All you do is put the bias tape right side (with the valley of the fold facing up) against the skirt’s right side of the fabric and stitch, then fold the bias tape over itself and underneath the edge of the skirt so that the edge of the skirt is technically the “seam” between the two of them. Then stitch your bias tape down and boom! Clean hem on a curve. It does take a tiny bit more time to do, but I find it completely worth it for the end product.
The Spirit of Lost Socks sounds cool, you could make their outfit out of any mismatched/old socks yall have.
It's been a week since I discovered this magical channel and WOW, I am mind blown by your creativity, I can only wish I was as creative as you are. I absolutely love these days, and these dolls are 10000000 times better than Mattel factory made dolls (not demeaning anyone, just my personal opinion.) And I will totally buy them (someday, for now I am just a broke college student sadly, perhaps someday), if they are ever up for worldwide sell💖💖💖

Came for the art: stayed for the bloopers! How about a Spirit of Abandoned Homes/ Homes Lost to Time/Decay ( I imagine they would have lots of dark and dreary colours with pops of brighter ones - think fall colour scheme mixed with swampy greens and teals, burnt umber and browns or even cepia colours for a truly faded, old film look.)

for even seams on circles that small, you could look into getting a rolling hem foot. I think that's what it's called... it basically folds the hem for you right before you sew over it. works wonders!
