    I was diagnosed in November 2021 at about 140 lbs. with an A1C of 7.1 and FBS of 203. Got my results on Tuesday, down to 87 FBS and 4.5 A1C and down to 121 lbs. No meds, just low carb and working out. Going to try to keep it this way for as long as I can.

    You should come up with one "master formula" that all diabetics must take! I assume that would include neuropathy support, vitamins, and glucose support. Perhaps even BP support. Juggling multiple pills in addition to everything that may be going on at the hospital/clinic already is difficult and also prone to errors.

    I just got my test results about 3 weeks ago with a 7.0 A1C and a fasting blood sugar of 197. I have a family history of diabetes so I knew it was a possibility. I have not been back to my doctor yet for the follow up, but I was able to see the lab results in advance, so in a preemptive measure. I immediately put myself on a low carb diet, I started exercising. 3 weeks later I am down from 195 to 184.6 weight. I bought a glucose monitor and tested myself this morning and my fasting blood sugar level was 121. I also purchased some of the berberine supplements and just started those. I did not realize until I cut them all out how many snacks potato chips and sweet items I was eating. I hope to have a good base before I go back to my doctor in the latter part of April. I also have to talk to her about potential sleep apnea issues Which I think I contribute to the problem.

    I recommend bitter melon ,,raw,cooked or salad eat plenty of this before breakfast or before meal as my veg..I test my blood sugar everyday for one month and my blood sugar is decreasing every day...from 12 to 5 + and second month I maintain the food I'm eating...no.. fruits ,bread ,cereals... soda ..all fruit drinks.and ..fruits..and my blood sugar the second month is 5+ to 6+..sometimes I'm tempted to eat little rice,,a scoop of ice cream.. piece of small cake with friends. Seldom only ..still my blood sugar is ok 5 ➕ ,did not take mitformin my doctor prescribed, I eat salad,eggs okra lots for my fiber..really really working..3rd month I'm testing my blood sugar once a week as long as I maintain the food I'm eating...and exercise, walk,walk..winter too cold ...I go up and down the stairs..while watching TV do stretching,,bending..even sitting ...exercise while watching TV....and avoid stress enjoy life no matter what and pray to God..God is my strength and my provider..be nice to people around you.pray for Ukraine and Russia for ✌. ♥️🇨🇦🇨🇦🍁🤣🙏🙏🙏

    Great video Dr. Ergin. I probably knew about the signs but sadly disregarded them. I have improved my A1C from 6.9% to 6.2% in 4 mos. I also think keeping a journal is good because you can go back and see your success. Also, if your BG is running high for a couple of days then you can go back and use your journal as a reference. Ozempic was bad for me. Lots of stomach pain, constipation. Yes, it took away appetite so you didn't overeat but made me feel like garbage. I have hypothyroidism, too and was concerned because info said it caused thyroid cancer in rats. Told my Dr. I didn't want to take it and she didn't insist said don't take it if you're uncomfortable with it. Great Dr. She actually listens. Only second doctor I've had in 40+ years that actually listens to me. First Dr. switched to just sports medicine. Took me 30 years to find another good doctor. She's a keeper!

    What about pre diabetes doctor, how many cells are lost then? I had diagnosis last October(5.7 a1c) , just checked again now a1c at 5.2 but fasting glucose was 103?? I'm on keto diet

    • @SugarMDs

      At prediabetes you lost around 40 percent of your beta cells. Being on low carb diet for sure helps

      @@SugarMDs thank you! Any idea why fasting glucose was still high but a1c dropped?

      @@AlruMoToRiderz I had the opposite happen 2 years ago when my A1C suddenly went from 5.5 to 5.9 during my yearly MRI and bloodwork follow-up for my pancreatic cyst but my fasting glucose on my CMP was completely normal (had aways been normal) and kept coming back normal when my PCP retested it every 4 weeks. Finally, after 3 months, my A1C went back to 5.5. To this day, my PCP can't figure out why that happened. Thankfully, my recent A1C and fasting glucose test remain normal.

      @@AlruMoToRiderz depending on your age, at prediabetes you very well may not have lost your beta cells permanently. Lose as much fat as possible and keep the body fat off for life. That is the best chance you can give your beta cells to wake up again.
      Fasting glucose is just one snapshot in time. You could have just been stressed that morning, or you could have eaten a late meal with lots of fats the night before. A1C is a better general indicator of where you stand.

    • @nushar
      @nushar 2 года назад +1

      Could be "dawn phenomenon". Or maybe you had a late night snack. Avoid night time snacks, skip the breakfast, and go for a morning walk. In other words, practice "intermittent fasting" and don't worry too much. Your numbers look fine to me.

    Hi dr November last year I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, and gestational age 28w of pregnancy. after several tests the hospital team could not confirm whether I was type 1 or not because the c-peptise antibody was negative. So until now I don't know what type of diabetes I have. and so far I haven't experienced all the signs on type 1. please help me with my case.
