that's the whole trick to it recognizing sounds and rhythm like in music not counting dots and dashes you don't have time for that at even 5 words a minute
but, why is it important to learn the Morse Code in the 21Century? It is not important!! Thats my mind! The internet is much important! It is just for Fun, I think.
In case you want to be a Pilot, an Astronaut or a Ships Captain for instance, they all have to learn how to use Morse Code (C.W.) in case of communications failure. There are many ways to send Code when you're "Chips" are down, but then again, if you can't think of any there's no point in taxing you're tiny brain! Thanks Phil K.
1:11 - "London" can also be used since "Lima" is the number 5 in some languages. In fact, that's what I do when I teach anyone the English spelling alphabet for exactly this reason.
This is hilarious and quite the earworm. First heard it on shortwave pirate radio several years ago. It's like Fred Schneider of the B-52s got his ham radio license and wrote a song about it. ;)
Phil, thank you very much. This creative song took me to my childhood. My father was a soldier and one of their mission was deciphering these codes. I remembered those summer holidays, which he used to decipher these codes to entertain me... And at the end he always told that "this means this is the end of the message boy"... Thanks again. :)
Phil, you took a lot off the guys in the hospital recovering from wounds, we learned the code and put in to take the test this coming January. most of the guys were having some trouble along the way until we heard your Rhythm of the Code, your hear it all over the hospital now where ever there is therapy going on to a count, Great training tool, Thank You.
Congratulations! You did great! It works because The Rhythm of the Code makes learning Morse Code "logical." The human brain seeks logic and when it is found the data is easily memorized. Thank you for your comment.
No, not sure where I bought it, i think at my local Ham store in Wilmington, NC (closed now) . They may have got them from Dayton. I imported it to MP3 and keep it on my phone to play for people I work with. They already know I'm weird :)
Wow this is how I learned morse code and got this part of my amateur radio license back in '94!!! I love this thing we have called the internet! I was explaining morse code to my finance and how I learned it and decided to search for it since I only had it on a cassette. Thanks this made it so easy to learn and I will be using this again to refresh my memory to help get my amateur radio license again!!!
class 1 radio ham here! use it everyday, learned it at 14y/o, now at 68y/o still don,t forget it! once youv,e got it ,it,s like a second language that you never forget, love it , become a radio ham and enjoy another life, I,m not talking C/B, radio,, google "how to become a radio ham "and talk to the world, youll not regret it!!! 73,s have fun and a hobby for life!!😃😃😃...
New writing systems are much harder. How I managed to end up able to read Hiragana and Katakana, but still not be able to understand Morse code escapes me.
I first heard this song last night from a Morse app on Android. This is included in the app as a bonus feature. The first 10 seconds of listening to it made me super-addicted. And that's how I ended up watching this clip with the same song. Thank you for this!
Absolutely awesome! I'm showing my 12th grade students this today, in preparation for getting Conroe High School A.R.S. (K2CHS) on the air! '73 and THANK YOU! Gerrit, KE5HVM
Phil K Not from back then. I remember getting this when I first started learning code. I used this as part of training for Tech Plus. I am wanting to get back into it and use CW.
