    Great video, thanks Chad, I just bought my pod go wireless, and I’m still working my way around it, this helps big time!

    Wow! What a great and versatile preset. Bought this over the Helix because I want good tones but something more plug n play. Your videos are helping me get up and running and realize that even though it's more streamlined than the Helix, it's still a great sounding, very usable unit. Thanks so much!!

    Great video. I just picked up a Pod Go. I will admit going through the pre-sets I was very underwhelmed and considering returning it. But watching your videos and other kept me going. Also came across a comment where others said they agreed that the presets weren't that great. I finally started creating my own based on amps I own. Man this thins rawks!!! Now I'm kind of overwhelmed with what all it can do!! Keep up the great work!

      Thanks!
      I never use factory presets either. There are too many variables including your guitar, what you're playing through, the way you play, for them to have factory presets that work for everyone.
      I do like using presets as templates and some get you close to where you want to be.
      But always good to tweak/build them yourself to suit your needs.
      Glad you're enjoying the Pod Go! 🙂

    Chad, thank you SOOO much for this vid. I've spent a lot of time researching Pod Go and been a little cautious/sceptical re Pod Go capabilities and concerns re processing power and block limitation. But this video has just absolutely sold me on Pod Go!!! I've been trying to find out what the advantage of F7/8 is and of all the video's I've watched on Pod Go, your vid has absolutely sold me on it!! Still waiting for these in the UK but when they get here, I'm there! One thing I'm not 100% sure of - can you mix snapshots and stomps? Can you clarify what you can and can't do here please?

    • @ChadHuskey
      @ChadHuskey  4 года назад

      Awesome!! I'm glad you found that helpful!
      You can absolutely mix snapshots and stomps. Pod God has 2 different footswitch modes for this. So you can control the 4 snapshots at once, or in the other mode control (up to ) 8 footswitches. The top right footswitch on the Pod Go toggles this.
      You can also setup the bypass state of the stomps to be on/off via snapshot control, or work independently.
      So if you want to turn on/off your delay for example and not have that affected by changing snapshots you can do that. Or vice versa.
      You can also assign any parameter to snapshots. But that's an either or with the stomp footswitch assignment.
      So if you want snapshots to control the gain value on the amp model you couldn't also have a footswitch control that parameter as well.
      Here's a video I have demoing a preset pack I made that uses the 4 snapshots as 4 "amp channels" and the stomps and control parameters work independently of that.

    Hiya, thanks so much for this, it totally opens up my Pod Go. I bought a Lany FS-2 Mini after watching this (because it has a status light), however I'm having to click the switch twice to change the parameters. This is annoying as it will be awkward live, but also it means the second press also turns off the status light. Any advice out there? Have I just go the wrong type of switch? Thanks

    REALLY useful video - thanks! I have a question as I'm still new to using this unit: I understand how, for example, you have the minimum and maximum values using the footswitch for distortion. But then at the very end of that section you mentioned how you could also have a third, clean, option and I hear two footswitches at 4:07. Probably a silly question, but how was that clean accomplished? Anyway, your tutorial is just great.

      Glad you found the video useful! I don't have the unit in front of me right now, but there should be a snapshot that sets the amp to a clean setting. The 2 clicks may have been me turning off the distortion pedal and changing snapshots. I can't remember for sure, but the clean snapshot with no drive pedal should get you there :)

    Thanks for the informative video. You answered my question about setting minimum and maximum values for effects parameters. I see that I can use the loop and EQ switches to change settings on other things. But is there a way to reassign those 2 switches to activate different effects? I never use the loop or EQ and would like to use either to add a different effect to the mix. Is it possible?

    I do think the Pod Go editing software is easier to use than HX Edit, from the looks of it.

    I could use a trick on getting back into factory presets;
    When I save a factory preset into a user patch, it won't let me exit user banks/patches,
    and get back to factory presets, just keeps looping around in circles, in user banks.

    Hi Chad! I don't have the Pod Go yet, so I have a beginner's question: you showed basically 3 "states" of each effect (off/low/high), right? So, if an effect is off and then I press the switch it was assigned to, it turns on with the low settings. Then, if I press it a second time, it changes to the high settings. And, finally, I if a press it a third time it turns off like it was at the beginning. Did I get it right?
    So is there a way to turn the effect off just when doing a long press, and having the toggle between the low and the high states controlled by a quick press? This way, I could switch quickly from the "low state" to the "high state", without having to turn the effect off in the middle of the way, but I'd still have the option of turning it off using the same switch if I wanted.
    (I hope I've made myself clear, since my english is a little bit rusty lately)

    Would this work in snapshot mode? I was thinking maybe a second press on the same footswitch for the current snapshot could toggle a chorus effect for example? Or alternatively have the external footswitch do that but still in Snapshot mode?

    • @ChadHuskey
      @ChadHuskey  4 года назад +1

      You can use snapshots to control all of these parameters, but each snapshot can only have one state. It can't do an A/B, or min/max, value change like what I have setup here. Also you are limited to 4 snapshots on every patch.
      Personally I like using snapshots to control amp parameters. For instance sometimes I'll have different amp settings for each snapshot and treat it like 4 "channels" on an amp.
      As far as the external footswitches controlling parameters while still in snapshot mode I believe that should work.

    Chad have you tried recording this unit in a DAW yet? where do you control the Level Input?

    • @ChadHuskey
      @ChadHuskey  4 года назад +1

      Yes, this video was recorded going directly into my DAW. I dial my patches in to have the right level of output over USB. I find they work great live when I do that as well.
      You do have an adjustment in the global settings to adjust the USB in signal if you run audio back through the Pod Go, but the USB output is what it is.
      The Helix works the same way.
      I like this as it helps me know where my patches at level wise.

      I wasn't sure until seeing your video today, what foot switch you can buy for an extension to the pod go.
