    Duuuuuuuude! That came out so freaking cool! Absolutely love it! That resin came out so clean and the fluorite is gorgeous! Love the way the purple shines with the light on! Fantastic video as always and thank you so much for being a part of the challenge!😄

    #MakersChallenge5 is turning out to be, one of the best yet! That is such an amazing project and your daughter is a very lucky lady! Not only was it beautiful, but the level of difficulty went up ten fold using fluorite, and mitering the edges! But it was all worth it! Gorgeous! And the optical properties of fluorite are great for this! Awesome project and entry in this years Makers Challenge! Thanks for doing it as a premier to Jason!❤🎉❤

    I love that you made it for your daughter. My father was a rockhound who had a lapidary setup. He's the one who inspired my love of all things "rocks." I've kept everything he ever made me. I'm old now. He is gone. But tokens of his love surround and comfort me today.

    Wow…just wow. You nailed this project! Beautiful choice of material, and expertly crafted. It’s funny, I think you are a lot like me- I make something and all I see are the mistakes while other people are amazed and impressed. I think a lot of (non delusional) people are like that too. That being said, this is probably the most original/interesting thing you’ve done thus far, I can’t see any flaws either in interpretation or execution. Even if there were, the strong design elements and materials shadow any Perceived flaws.
    Impressed all to shit in Hubtown! Keep on keeping on.
    Cheers,
    Dan

    If you tape the end of your mold, you can pour each side separately, making a hollow shell that you can fill with anything that you like. This is true for cubes, pyramids and basically any molds with straight sides.

    The project turned out great. If you ever decide to make another one, or if anyone else tries this, I recommend a slow curing CA and use a rubber band to hold four sides together then hit them with the accelerator. Having four of the six sides all lined up to each other will help with the fit of the last two sides. Gluing one side at a time really relies on precise angles of the bevels and could have resulted in disaster.

    • @RockhoundingLife
      @RockhoundingLife  4 месяца назад

      That is a great idea! I had about 10 seconds on each side to get it right after which to quote you would have been disaster had It not been aligned. I was fortunate to get it done with minimal misalignment.
