Duuuuuuuude! That came out so freaking cool! Absolutely love it! That resin came out so clean and the fluorite is gorgeous! Love the way the purple shines with the light on! Fantastic video as always and thank you so much for being a part of the challenge!😄
Thanks Theo! The resin made me nervous for sure but it came out pretty good. Glad to have been a part of it again this year. Thanks again!
Wonderful Quality Product!!! Dang, I’ll bet your daughter is JAZZED!!! ✨❇️✨
JASON! Pat yourself on the back. That is truly spectacular. Grinding down those 45* angles was definitely a great call. Just 😲❤
Thanks Nick! Really appreciate that!
#MakersChallenge5 is turning out to be, one of the best yet! That is such an amazing project and your daughter is a very lucky lady! Not only was it beautiful, but the level of difficulty went up ten fold using fluorite, and mitering the edges! But it was all worth it! Gorgeous! And the optical properties of fluorite are great for this! Awesome project and entry in this years Makers Challenge! Thanks for doing it as a premier to Jason!❤🎉❤
I didn't think I was going to like the pinpoints of light, but they look like stars in a nebula. Very cool!
Best night light ever made!!!! 🎉 Thanks for sharing your rockin adventures! ❤
Thank you very much and our pleasure!
As a crystal collector that looks AmAZiNG! Simply orange? nope Simply AmAZiNG!
Wow, that is just awesome. My wife would really like that. She enjoys little lights and lots of colours. Great project.
Thanks so much 😊
What a super cute idea and the colours are amazing and the epoxy came out beautifully clear 🤩🤩
SWEET L@@KING another job well done.
That looks AWESOME! I hope your daughter is pleased.👏🏻
Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here: Maker's Challenge time is here! 🎉 Yeah!!! What a great idea! That is a beautiful entry piece.
I love that you made it for your daughter. My father was a rockhound who had a lapidary setup. He's the one who inspired my love of all things "rocks." I've kept everything he ever made me. I'm old now. He is gone. But tokens of his love surround and comfort me today.
So lovely! I hope your daughter likes it.
She loves it!
😮❤ That is AMAZING! Oh Wow! Absolutely beautiful! Your daughter is a very lucky girl ❤
Thanks Sandra!
I love the way its floating in its own light , it wouldn't work or look the same if it was sitting flat stone to the ground, this allows the light to look all surrounding, really cool effect ! bet she loves it ! another fun one my friend !
Thanks Nate!! I thougt yiur castle was amazing. You aee always thinking on another level!
That turned out absolutely gorgeous! Lucky girl.
Thank you! 😊
Holy Dr Who! Your tesseract is spectacular! You did the detail work so well - wonderful creation! Thank you for sharing the process. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much!
Can't wait to see this!!!
Oh my gosh😮😍😍❤️
Absolutely amazing
Absolutely breathtaking!!!!!
I love this!!! An excellent addition to the makers challenge. Well done.
Thanks so much! 😊
Fabolous! I really love this, great job. Happy Easter!
That turned out really nice, Jason! I knew exactly how you felt in those moments where if you messed up, it was going to ruin the whole project. Those times are stressful, but it makes success in the end even more satisfying.
That turned out great. Nice job. I got pulled away during the premiere. Work.
What a great project! It's so beautiful and unique. Well done.
Thank you! Cheers!
Glad you like it!
Well done Jason! Gorgeous. Your daughter is so fortunate to have a dad that is so very skilled at lapidary. Amazing!! Thank you for being part of The Maker’s Challenge once again. Woo hoo our Canadian boy ROCKS!
Thank you Michelle!!

You guys have all challenged me to do more and be more creative with my rocks and fossils. I wanted to go back and say thanks again for dropping your link and code for HiTech. I just used your code for a purchase of diamond discs. I find your channel to be the best and most helpful in cutting, grinding and polishing. So keep up the great work, Jason. Your guys channel rocks!
Thanks I really.appreciate that!
Absolutely beautiful, you're daughter will love it. I'm not your daughter , but I love it.
😊 thank you

🤯 What!! I need me one of these in my room haha! Dude this was just unbelievably AMAZING!!! I need to try working with some epoxy. It's amazing what you could do with it. Great flippin job Jason. Cheers to another year of MC greatness 🎉
Thanks M!! Can't wait to sew your project! Hope all is well with you.
Wow, I love the end result!
Thank you! 😊
Very sublime, yet surreal. What a marvel! I think there are quite a few people that would be proud to own one of those. (I would put a price of about $295 on that one ..I live in the Branson, Mo. area) What a brilliant idea to incorporate the lights into the art. Well done. I haven't seen the other entries yet, but you have set a very high bar.
Beautiful wow
Nice!!!
Wow…just wow. You nailed this project! Beautiful choice of material, and expertly crafted. It’s funny, I think you are a lot like me- I make something and all I see are the mistakes while other people are amazed and impressed. I think a lot of (non delusional) people are like that too. That being said, this is probably the most original/interesting thing you’ve done thus far, I can’t see any flaws either in interpretation or execution. Even if there were, the strong design elements and materials shadow any Perceived flaws.
Impressed all to shit in Hubtown! Keep on keeping on.
Cheers,
Dan
Wow thanks Dan fornthe kind words! We are our iwn harshest critics!
And it's even better in the dark stunning!! My only point of criticism would be that the lines you drew are visible and I think an alcohol wipe would have gotten rid of those. It would be brilliant to see more cubes of different sizes and with different stones. What a wonderful project 💗💗💗💗
A bit of alcohol on a cotton swab will take the market off of the Rubic's Cube too. Don't go crazy or the stickers will fall off.
Wow that is a work of art dude! Very inspiring piece of art!
Thank you so much 😀
That's awesome, Jason! The material you used was incredible! Purple is my favorite color! You made this look easy! I make jewelry with stones and resin, and we've also made lighted skulls out of resin! Might have to try this! Thanks for sharing!
You definitely should. Thanks for watching!
Happy Easter to you and the family!
So beautiful xx
Beautiful!
That is so cool and beautiful! I love it!
Thank you so much!
Wow! Amazing and totally cool!❤ fantastic job!
Thank you! 😄
Very cool 😎
Inspirational
Stunning project!!
Thank you! 😊
Very cool!!!
Oh that is awesome! Love it!❣
Thank you! Cheers!
Great idea and beautiful work 🔥
Thank you 🙌
Great project. I like working with epoxy. It's a great way to put a clear coat on cut rocks that I don't want to spend time polishing. Also, have you ever tried Super Weld UV super glue? Hardens within seconds of shining a UV light on it.
That's so cool!!! Great job!!!
Thanks!!
Amazing!!!!!! Awsome job!!!!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Clever and well executed. ❤
Thanks!!
super beautiful 😍 i just love it!!
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful. Set it on a small mirror.
Great idea!!
Awsome!
Beautiful 🤩
Thanks 🤗
Happy Easter to RHLIFE 🐇
Same to you!
Turned out great j,im impressed😮
Thanks!!
The fluorite is nice stuff
If you tape the end of your mold, you can pour each side separately, making a hollow shell that you can fill with anything that you like. This is true for cubes, pyramids and basically any molds with straight sides.
Thanks for the tip!
@@RockhoundingLife Of course! Resin is probably my favorite medium, and certainly one of the ones that I have the most practice with!
The project turned out great. If you ever decide to make another one, or if anyone else tries this, I recommend a slow curing CA and use a rubber band to hold four sides together then hit them with the accelerator. Having four of the six sides all lined up to each other will help with the fit of the last two sides. Gluing one side at a time really relies on precise angles of the bevels and could have resulted in disaster.
That is a great idea! I had about 10 seconds on each side to get it right after which to quote you would have been disaster had It not been aligned. I was fortunate to get it done with minimal misalignment.
Sharpie marker comes off with isopropyl or denatured alcohol
Excellent craftmanship! Would be good to make one that opens so that one could change the lighting when this one burns out, and now it’s totally nonrecycleable, which is a shame!
Thank you!
a small bit of blue dye will counter the yellow and give you a clear look on you epoxy
Interesting! I'll have to try that
I guess flourite is too soft to polish the flat sides? However, it turned out stunning! Lucky daughter. 🌈👍🌹
No you can polish it nicely. But i didnt because the epoxy does it for you.
I would the channel to ID the rocks or maybe what sedimentary period. Were some of the rocks imbedded in lava?
So very cool. What's the little sign in the background - walks to the fridge 😊
"I like to take long romantic walks to the fridge"
Cute
Cool stuff Jason, just wondering if you've ever stumbled across float copper here in NS. I'm in Annapolis Royal.
I know that we have copper mining in the province, but wondering if you've come across any wild copper.
Ive seen some native copper on the Bay of Fundy. Nothing significant. My biddy Terry jas some nice examples of it.
You named your son travis?
And.....
Beautiful!!!
Beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
