    lol, they were too scared to scratch it up. If you go off-roading, that's part of it. My 22' F350 dually would murder that little hill while towing my boat!

    I've been waiting on a dually video like this.

    Interesting and entertaining video 👍. Ford however does not have a locking rear diff option for the DRW. That LSD is as good as you're going to get under the dually.

    I just cant get used to that front end. The previous gen looked so much better and demanded so much more presence

      Exactly! Ford has me waiting for a redesign or being patient for a few years for an entirely new generation. :(

    Okay I would trust y’all to get any vehicle out of a bad situation. Those hill test still have me biting my nails. I’m bringing some walking sticks for Craig to help him climb when I come y’all way. Keep up the awesome videos.

    Slap a tremor valance on the front , a front level kit will lift it about 2.5 inches in the front and add some nittos and your off to the races good to go great video

    I have a 20' F350 Dually and it gets to pull trees that my tractor couldn't handle. Never occurred to me to try it as a rock crawler. Thats usually when I get out the Jeep Gladiator.

    The FX4 option does provide an electronic locking differential for the F350 SWD. The DWD (350 & 450) don’t offer locking likely due to intended road design, a locking diff on road at speed wouldn’t be a desired mode.
    Does a GMC 3500 Dually have locking differential ?

    Wow, fun video. Did I miss it...why didn't you guys try it with the front hubs locked and engaged?!

    • @TexasTruckChannel
      @TexasTruckChannel  11 месяцев назад

      They are auto locking hubs, you can select auto, or force them to stay locked. They were functioning correctly in auto. Thanks for watching!

    Its probably not that simple to say that low range doesnt improve traction. Friction can be complex. It gets into static versus dynamic friction.

    Did Ford not have an FX4 Off Road Pkg available to test? I ask because I'm wondering why you would test this F-350 Dually without the awesome FX4 pkg? Not only does the FX4 have a locking rear LSD, but it has upgraded shocks, improved and stronger suspension, skid plates etc etc... The FX4 equipped trucks actually ride nicer than the non FX4 trucks. No matter how well this truck does off road or in the snow or mud, the FX4 will do better.

      Great question, and at the time, no Ford did not have an FX4 available, but we have tested several FX4's in the past if you want to check them out. Thanks for watching!

    I don’t know why you guys didn’t manual lock the front hubs, I was biting my nails in frustration lol. Auto is based on vacuum and lag, manual lock both sides on them bad boys. Advanced traction control off, and if that doesn’t do it, pull the abs fuse if you’re in a pickle

    • @TexasTruckChannel
      @TexasTruckChannel  11 месяцев назад +1

      We didn't get to a spot where we needed to lock the hubs. The auto function (vacuum actuated) was working as it should. Just like it does on half ton Fords. If we had any lack of engagement we would have used them. At the end of the day it made it up.

      @@TexasTruckChannel I’m currently doing everything I can for my 21 DRW. I tow a big fifth wheel through the sand for off grid camping. So far, my research tells me you have to install aftermarket lockers and put a relay and switch to control power to the ABS system, or else no matter what the traction control system power limits itself. If you end up finding out more information on what you can do, please let me know. My experience off grid in the sand stock was terrible. Wheel hoped like crazy and just buried the rear end because it wouldn’t put power to the wheels. Thank you for this upload

    17” is way too small for a 1 ton truck. 18” wheels are still laughable. Ain’t nothing wrong with 20’s all the way around. You’ll get an extra inch of ground clearance without your truck looking stupid and still be able to fifth wheel a trailer.
