Intervengono: Charles Fernyhough, Susan Schaller, Ann Senghas, James Shapiro, Elizabeth Spelke and Jill Bolte Taylor.
The first story may be my favorite story that I've ever heard. The gift of language is priceless.
Absolutely fascinating
Lera Brodititsky is a leading linguist and i hope she would snatch this up
Super interesting episode:)

Parole?
"words" in italian
Radiolab is so overproduced. God
I love radiolab, but I hate Jad Abumrad because I blame him for the HORRIBLY OBNOXIOUS SCREECHING sound effects at the open.
100% agree, this is the first time I've listened to it and while I love the subject matter, I'll never listen to another one. Constant interruptions, far too much over editing and splicing together, overlapping audio tracks, infantile sound effects. Epitomises the dumbing down of media that is a curse in American productions. Presenters don't even allow the academics to introduce themselves. Total shite
Why do they sound so pretentious
Lol I agree but it's their style. I enjoy their subject matters though and it's a great starting point for getting into new concepts but... yeah it can be a bit much
It's NPR, the most pretentious thing on Radio. It's like if The Atlantic and The New Yorker fused together and started a radio show.
They get into their stories, better mildly pretentious than boring and uninterested.
