Jake, my grandpa always said the NFL was rigged and the players are on drugs or doped up on pain killers. He had tons of people call him nuts and hes full of it. My grandpa was from the greatest generation and called it like he saw it. The more I watch your videos the more I understand what he was saying. He said the NFL was rigged since the early 90s. He said he knew it was when the packers were playing the steelers and the WR dropped the ball and came up with a big smile on his face. The packers made the playoffs and went on to win the superbowl. I saw that game live. The wide receiver was named Yancey Thigpen, no joke. He dropped it intentionally and it was obvious. The camera quickly moved over to the coach Bill Cowher who was also smiling. The game was meaningless for the Steelers, but these guys were smiling for an entirely different reason. I was probably 10 years old at the time and I was telling everyone that he dropped it on purpose. Surprisingly, everyone agreed but their short memories allowed them to quickly forget all about it. Same thing happened in the Superbowl when Neil O'Donnell threw 2 obvious interceptions. A lot of people undoubtedly questioned it, but forgot all about it shortly after. Not me. He's right I remember back in the day teams would bump and run cover and get a pass rush and actually try. These games are scripted like you said it's zone coverage so that way it's easier to deny because if it's man and you get beat you get called out immediately.
Good point. These defenses often play zone or 'prevent' at the end of games too - which is odd because they're often bad and give up a lot of plays - and wrs get wide open which is really suspicious. A team who has been playing tight d all game suddenly has holes like swiss cheese.

1:22 when I was playing junior varsity football at age 16 a guy caught a pass over me in a LB drill - coach told me to only turn when the receiver looked for the ball. I did that the next play and batted down the pass... but an NFL safety doesn't know or do that.
