OMG ,why it's always " Friends" ? Why do all teachers use this show in their lessons ? I love Rachel , but can't watch " Friends" even for English sake . Sorry . :(
Hi Rachel, my name is Abdulelah, I'm from Saudi Arabia and I'm one of your student in Rachel's English Academy. I have been busy these days on my final exams so I cannot practice my pronunciation skills in Rachel's English Academy and I just want to ask you " How can I pause my subscription or cancel it " And then after I finish them I would like to continue practicing.
Hey rachel, you're really wonderful teacher i've seen before, and i am trying to get your strain cox, you're excellent teacher. I am kekeli Yovo from Togo.I am living in french speaking country.May God bless you.I love you too much like you're my ........
I’m an American native English speaker. And watching this in this way, it’s actually amazing that no native speaker would ever have the slightest trouble understanding such conversations when so many words are cut short and/or run together. Obviously all languages do similar things. Our brains are quite amazing at understanding language.
Hi, Rachel, I enjoyed this video this was an awesome ben Franklin analysis video I never would be apathetic I rather enjoy watching your video ben Franklin exercise is my favorite things. appreciation.
While using the Rachel`s English Academy on a daily basis, I still come back to your YT channel to do some Ben Frankliin exercises, because they`re soo much fun!! Thank you for your hard work Rachel, you truly are amazing
Hi Rachel, I got a question regarding your pronunciation of the word "didn't" in 0:03. It seems like you pronounced the second d sound as a stop T. Should it be pronounced as a flap T or a stop T? When I think of the rule, it should be a flap T, but I really find it inconvenient and unnatural to pronounce that, especially when I'm speaking fast. Is stop T acceptable? Same question for the words "couldn't", "wouldn't" "shouldn't". Many thanks!
Hi! I'm using a Stop D (or a Held D) in the word 'didn't'. That is different from the Stop T in that it is a voiced sound. You will hear the beginning of the D sound, and then the release directly into the following consonant, the N sound. The same thing does happen with 'couldn't', 'wouldn't' and 'shouldn't'. We're actually working on a video on the Held D right now - so you'll be able to learn more about this soon! :)
I really enjoy all your videos and I love your academy. Thanks to you I have improved my English comprehension. I will like to recommend Daily English Dictation on RUclips the two of you are a perfect combination. Thank you!!
@@rachelsenglish I have been watching your videos for couple of days. My goal is to improve pronunciation and fluency. Thanks Rachel you are so cooperative and amazing teacher
Native speaker here... I think my pronunciation of "already" is more of a dark L + "ready" (with the a dropped)... But Rachel's way is much easier and will be perfectly understood by everyone so probably go with that one!
My favorite tv show and my favorite teacher 😊😊😊. Thanks for making this kind of videos. I learned a lot and as a teacher too, I feel more confident when teaching my students.
I love this series. I understand everything they says but when I wanna to speak my speech is bad i don't know what i should to do ,I gonna focus and practice more and more until I make it 😊😊😊❤️❤️
Hello Rachel! Thank you so much! Everything is clear, especially after watching the lesson, but not before! I would like to make some remarks for feedback, but I haven't anything to say. There is only one word - perfection!

Hi Rachel, in the sentence 'Will you serve the dessert already?', the T in dessert is a Stop T. However, the next word begins with a vowel. I thought we have Stop T when the next word begins with a consonant?
There are no real "rules" that define how you have to say this. Some people will use a Flap T here, others will use a Stop T, as you describe. Both are perfectly fine options!
Rachel's English, Could you please record a video about IPA-International Phonetic Alphabet, before analysing different movies, because when we learn the IPA then it’s easier to understand the other videos. Thank you for your understanding.
To "sneak a taste" is a way of saying "secretly try a little bit". This expression doesn't have a lot of other versions, so I'd just use this one if you are in an appropriate situation (around cooking or food).
Hi, Rachel's, Without repeating the pronunciations of speaking, I get only 30%; however, when all sentences show on the VDO, I understand 70%. That's why last a few years ago I went to school and took exams, I got a high level writing class but low level listening and speaking class. English is as my third language because before I learn English, I already learnt Thai and Hmong is my native language. Can u give me best advice to achieve listening and speaking ?
Great class but it's just about pronunciation, that is great, but I desire to increase my vocab, so I've made a research with the words I didn't know. But it is clarifying to me. See "ya" next class.
I'm here again and Yes! This is one of the hard part in English (understanding) I haven't paid to learn English because your videos are powerful tools and you help me out a lot. Muchísimas gracias!❤️ I admire you from Colombia
Hey, Rachel. I have a question, you said that she dropped the ED in whipped, so does that happen with verbs like Worked, liked, stopped... too? because when you guys speak fast I can't really hear the ED being pronounced, so i dont know if it's pronounced very softly, or with a stop t, or just dropped completely.
Hi! Yes, very often we will drop the ED endings! When linking an ED ending into a word that begins with a consonant this is especially common. Great question!
