i go grocery shopping daily for fresh milk , fruits and what i have to cook for the meal of that day or the next one. Instead if i have to stock more food on a monthly basis , but lately every 2 or 3 months because we are consuming less. Yes , in our supermarkets there's a lot of junk food and treats near the counter for the check out, but in no one there are free fruits or samples for kids

Thank you! 😍 I like how you talk with your lovely kid. In the middle east where I live, stores are mostly local and owned by individuals. Customers reach only a couple of items they want but most of items needed to be asked from the seller on the other side of the counter! . So we talk more in our stores than the US!😃. For junk food you asked you are right I have a lot too in my country stores but again a part of items are more local or hand made. I remember for example the fruit layers kind of a solid layer concentrated of fruits such as prune very tasty made at home by people to sell. Again, thank you and I try the words pronunciation you introduced.

For answering your question, I go grocery shopping twice a week and there are a lot of snacks and junk food items at the checkout counter in all the grocery stores here too. They probably learned it from the United States. 🤔 I and my family often travel to the U.S. and we always need to rent a car at the airport when arrive there, so can you make a video about the car rental conversation in English? thanks! In Germany we also have lots of candies in the check-out area. We often call this part of the store "Quengelzone", which roughly translates to 'whining zone' because this is where children often won't stop whining until they get what they want. 😂

I can see the care and love with which you make your videos. In Mexico, we also have the same junk food at checkout counters. Kudos to the checkout lady for allowing you to film the final step of your purchases. Yes, I learned new things in this video thanks to the fact that it is explained in real-time. Thanks Vanessa, this is such a helpful video. It not only helps me to review my English vocabularies, but also helps me other people to have a general knowledge about how a grocery store looks like in America. It’s pretty much the same to grocery stores in Australia (I used to study & live in Australia for 10 years) except the free fruit for Kids. Its amazing!! We dont have free fruit in Australia supermarkets, I believe I never found this promotion there😊 but its ok, no complaints. It’s so exciting to get to know about this.
I know all the vocabularies that are in your video but since I was back to my home country for good a year ago, I haven’t had many chances to speak English. My home country is Vietnam. Even though there are quite many foreigners in VN but if we want to speak English , we gotta work for some foreign companies. I’m currently not working due to some family issues. I feel like I’m dying if I dont hear English or speak English😅 so I always find something about English to watch everyday such as movies, songs, English channels on youtube, etc.. but I cant find anyone to practice speaking English with me. Sometimes I just talk to myself to practice English 😆… I dont like learning vocabs from books cos Its kind of boring. Somehow your video just poped up when I was looking for something to watch today 😊 . I would subscribe your channel. I’m looking forward to see more videos from you😊

We go shopping every payday and we have to eat at the food chain like Mcdonald or KFC to celebrate the family day. Thank you, teacher Vanessa for sharing with us about vocabulary in the grocery store. Looking forward to learning more English phrases, vocabulary, grammar, and phrasal verbs in English. Have a blessed weekend.

So glad you enjoyed this lesson! Believe it or not, I've been trying to make this video for the past year, but grocery stores kept telling me that I couldn't film. 🙄So this time, we went early in the morning and decided: "It's better to ask forgiveness than as permission."😜

Yeah, I know precisely it might be strictly forbidden to film in some stores or in any kind of similar places, it's truth, surely! Nonetheless, I'm absolutely grateful to you for creating this type of live video, I'd say so! God blesses you all! Have an amazing week!👍

Hi vanessa! It's so lovely to see you and your family in daily life, you are so careful and kind in your videos:) I'm a pakistani currently living in Utah and I learn a lot from your videos, now I am more confident to talk with native and, also, do my groceries (when I arrived, eight months ago, i was afraid to speak to anyone) in brazil, we also have the same just food at the checkout, but here i feel that it's more! I try to avoid them too this is the first time i watch a video where grocery shipping is done in real-time, from the time someone walks into the store until they leave. I can see the care and love with which you make your videos. in mexico,we also have the same just food at checkout counters. kudos

It is a pretty helpful video for me. I usually go to the grocery stores around 2-3 times a week because I stopped by 3 kinds of stores such as the Korean grocery store, Costco, and Kroger. There are different kinds of items they have. Anyway, next time I am going to try to get some ham at the deli section like you taught. Thank you

We also have in France tons of junky food such as candies, chewing gums etc...at the check out counter. We have magazines as well (about cooking, DIY, TV programs...). So many words to remember in this video, hopefully I'll be able to remember half of it 😂 Your young son is so cute! Have a nice day and keep making great videos ! 😉 Nathalie

Thank you for producing such an awesome video! I learned a lot from your video. I am trying to use the phrase and vocabulary that I learned from this video now. The last time I went to the grocery store was last Saturday as I will have a hot pot night with my friends next evening. After parking the car, we went to the grocery store then and got a shopping cart for us to load the items. First things first, we went to the produce section to get some vegetables like green onion and a bag of mushrooms. And after that, we went to the freezer to find the meat for the hot pot. We chose a pre-packaged box of beef and lamb. The last thing I had to go is to the diary section to get some yogurts and eggs. When I checked out, I used my own bag and paid with my membership card. After loading all the items, I drank some milk tea in my car.

Every once a month I and my husband get on to the grocery store to buy some important groceries. We tend to go through each aisle and section in the store so we won't miss out on any products we need to buy. We choose to use plastic bags to put in the items and reuse them as trash bags in our house. It's a nice pastime and bonding with my husband to walk around inside the grocery store and see new items and buy delicious food to taste. 😍👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨🛒🍶🥚🧀🍞🍗🥩🥬🍆🍌🍐🥬

Yes, in most of the US, masks aren't required, and you can even see the "State of the Union Address" (a speech) by the president Joe Biden, no one was wearing a mask. It's pretty common.
