Le Pechoux's fencing is so clean, it's a shame to see him go. I haven't watched many French lefties besides him and Cadot, but it feels like none of the French fencers have copied his style. I have the same thoughts on Joppich too.
It feels like Le Pechoux and Joppich don't get copied often even though they were really successful. Maybe because fencers have gotten taller on average, so there are fewer fencers to physiologically make them work. Or perhaps their styles still carry a lot over from the more defensive meta of fencing, so copying them isn't necessary.
Would love to hear some thoughts on this.
As always, timestamps for bouts are in the descriptions.

I've always thought that nobody copies that style anymore simply cause its much older compared to whats around now, like there are plenty of shorter fencers around but none came up during the same time period and became as successful as those two so they're like the last of their kind and its extremely difficult to fence the way they do.
Most of the shorter fencers I see now are all about speed and aggression for the most part. Almost everything is about controlling the bout and being more aggressive now that the more passive defensive styles have lost their glamor but as I fenced more tournaments when I got into fencing and went against defensive/passive fencers I used to get destroyed by them cause they're just so strong in their element.
I just find it fascinating how they make those actions look so easy, as a newer fencer I always thought they looked like they weren't even ready to defend as I was always taught a much more aggressive defensive style and to not let the opposing fencer run down the strip lol. So from my experience, just changing times and metas.

The 2020(1) Olympics is the passing of some tremendous MF fencers: Joppich and Kleinbrink, Le Pechoux, Meinhardt, not sure which of the GB fencers, probably Cassara and maybe one or two other Italians, several of the Russian members like Safin. There will be a whole slew of new faces for 2024 in Paris.

Not really, Russia won the most medals in summary on Tokyo's Olympics. It's official, check this
      en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fencing_at_the_2020_Summer_Olympics
They have +3 more medals then the French (they have 5 medals in total)

Why? You hate Russia and russian people? Well, they still won gold medals in sabre, female team foil. Silver medals in men team foil/epee.
