Great vid Keith/mark I’m one of the lucky ones to see this pickup from buying to selling and being able to drive it personal choice i liked it sounds like gone to good home
Such a beautiful pup and I know Nick is extremely pleased to have it! Highly respectable to let such a beautiful car go so that someone else may get more use out of it...
My Dad and his Brother purchased a Mini van together back in the 60's. Because it was classed as a commercial vehicle it didn't have a passenger seat, they had to order one as an optional extra a long with a heater lol
Hi Mark and Keith, wow, that is a lovely little pick up! And being an '82 would have looked great next to my black' 82 saloon lol! As you said, if you don't enjoy it, then it might as well go to someone who will hey. Great stuff as always guys 😊
What a lovely job someone did on that pickup. And yes had to be a BMC Green engine otherwise its Putrid Yellow for the year! I dread to think what a container will cost to ship it Stateside the way container shipping is all out of kilter these days. Sad to move cars on but if you aren't enjoying them no matter what they are they have to go. I have rarely seen a pickup since my misspent yoof but I moved to Halesworth about 5 years ago and as people got to know I was restoring Noah I met someone here who restored two and still has them.
Thank you. It was the second mini i had restored. I didn't even work on them at the time and just paid people to do the work, but due to jealousy and digs about Bought not built, i then chose the path of restoring them myself (with Keith). It's amazing how far i've come in 4 years and now people can't dig as i fully get my hands dirty and do most work myself! It is sad to move them on but i probably have less attachment to it because i didn't work on it. I didn't get involved in the shipping part so have no idea what he paid to have it shipped. I think he got a good deal on the sale and hope he gets years of enjoyment out of it. 🙂
@@markdraper7 I always say to people who get the digs from the purists 'just ignore them'. No matter what you do or how well you do it there is always ONE someone who will find fault. And most of them have never laid a hand on a spanner. And it doesn't matter if you did 'just pay someone' you rescued 2 cars so well done you mate. I used to hear the snide comments at bike shows when I showed my AJS, Matchless and Triumph restorations. Always fun to stand next to people slagging your bike off and hear the ignorance. Last laugh was of course going home with the rosettes.
Hiya Mark/Keith-someone has got themselves a mint pick-up there. Theres a blue T reg mini pick-up near me that a local guy has restored as part of his car collection. Sometimes see him going through the village in it-makes people look and smile. Hope you are all well.
Thanks Phillip! I'm not keen on Black minis either, but it was it's original colour so had to do it. I did spray Project KITT black but that was for Lucy and her choice.🤦🏼♂
😎👍 from the PNW Seattle area Washington State USA. ✌️
Gents, what a great Mini pup. Maybe one day I will be able to add one to my garage. Congrats to the buyer.

Whouahou. The buyer will be very happy with this full restored one!!
Thanks
That's awesome. I am currently in the process of restoring a mini truck myself! Hopefully it will be running by the summer of next year!
Good luck!

Thanks Randy. I'm glad it's gone to a great home and hope he enjoys it. 🙂
The mini is stunning 🤩 it definitely is a beauty
Thank you 😌
Sound is fine. Great video as always!
It's always a bit wobbly when i'm walking around with a camera 😂 Thank you.

My 1960 van has no passenger seat, but had optical heater and oddly, optional sun visors both sides. 🤷🏼♂
@@markdraper7 Anything to keep the Mrs at home whilst you pop off to the shows 😁
Mark selling his Pickup, such old news lol but what a lovely Mini. The new owner will love it.
😅 Thanks Paul.
Always fancied a pickup but never done it for that reason. Cash in and onto the next 👌
👌🏽

Absolutely beautiful car. Such a shame you've sold it Mark but I'm sure it's going to a good home.
Thank you! I already have minis that enjoy more that also don't get driven that often so it was best to sell it on. 😎
Beautiful 😍 just not sure if I like black minis not sure why though 🤔

Mark,, excellent restoration, shame you let it go, but then space for a new project car..
Thank you. It's just a shame it was restored before we started recording for youtube, so the level of detail we do isn't documented.
If someone wanted a better look for the bed, they could have a liner cut. You could use the car that way.... Looks super nice
Exactly. I liked the patina look. 🙂
Fury from How to train your Dragon maybe its the black lightining dragon lol
Haha, we did struggle with naming this one.
Lovely Pickup. Who did do the restoration work?
The welding was a guy in Eastbourne, Marks uncle sprayed it and Tony Franks in Shoreham put it all together.
@@classicminiworkshop Thanks very much. I thought Tony Franks had sold up?
@@4272005 He may well have done by now. This was restored about 5 or 6 years ago
How can I get my hands on one here in Connecticut?
Search the UK websites and adverts, or find a trader in the UK that is willing to export. Drop this guy a message www.philmiresclassiccars.co.uk
If you lift the Mini on the lift or ramp.....It still isn't as tall as Mark.
😂
